Its congratulations to S2C2 young muldoon Scot Collins in winning the local pub ( The Fellsider) poker league. Played over 14 weeks the final was played out tonight with 11 players on the final table due to equal points between 10th n 11th place finishers. As normal the event was well supported and a special mention must be given to hosts Jan & Brian Povey and also Derek the king of organisation for all their efforts. In a tense finish it was a great reflection to the league placings that the top 2 were there at the last. The final hand saw George "" Gan on Ill see a flop " Willis call an all in by Scott with KK. Scotts A6 looked in danger till the flop of AQ3 hit the board. Turn and river were of no help to George and young Muldoon took down the crown.
The new league starts again on Tuesday 8th January 2008 at 7.45 with all new players welcome. Well run, great crack and atmosphere and even a free buffet. What moe can you ask for for a fiver.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Loose is good at last! Good mate and dont tell anyone ( my accountant) Eddie LOOSEMAN Constable finally cracked through the final 20 range and mid table final table finishes to take down a very nice tournie and winners cheque of £3780.00
Well done and Im sure theres alot more to follow.

Not much happening lately apart from Xmas coming up fast and countdown to getting away again to warmer climates. Off to Dubai for 2 weeks with the family for Xmas and New Year which Im really looking forward to. We had our Xmas day and dinner on Sunday and yes the hinting worked and on opening my presents a pair of Black Billabongs as previously featured were there for me to parade around in. Scotty C also got Harringtons 2 books which I look forward to reading.
Not much happening on poker front. Hardly playing much online and live scene has seen 2 mid place final table finishes, a bubble this week and 3 blanks. Theres a good Xmas programme of events over hols in Newcastle with Stanleys doing a couple of good deep stack tournies on the Saturdays with 4.00 start and Grosvenor start a decent Wednesday night £30/£30 1st week in New Year.
Special mention and congratulations to Rob Price ( Animal ) for his Aussie Millions success this week which sets him up for a super trip to the land of Aus, WELL DONE YA FISH !
Merry Xmas to all.

I have been recently watching various hands in the high stakes poker series where the minimum buy in is $500000.00 My favourite is this hand involving Jamie Gold and Sammy Farrhar which I dedicate to Rob Price. Some players can value money more than others and put hands down when they believe they are behind whereby at the top level it seems its only chips and the dollar is worthless. Easy come easy go it seems. The conversations during this hand is what appeals to me where although both players know what is there they continue to seek information all the way till the end. Despite what looks like a gentlemans agreement in the end in my opinion is not all what it appears.

A quick thank you to Peter Burgon from St Kitts for keeping his word and sending me the pictures he took after the main event. They included me and John Devlin with the better halves together with next years picture of us holding the winners cheque ( aye in my dreams ).

Thanks once again Peter. Peters web site is worth a visit at www.caribbeanpokerclassic2007.com

Its back to normal after 2 weeks away and whilst looking forward to the weekend £200 3 monthly freezeout at the Grosvenor it was a surprise to get a call at work from no other than Mr JD JNR Devlin himself asking " You fancy a game tonight? " Not a one to turn down a game it was off to the Grosvenor for the friday £20 freezeout.
Grinding throught to the final table brought me face to face with yes you guessed JD with both of us reasonably stacked. Nothing too fancy until an UTG all in on my BB saw me look at AK. An instant call showdown revealed A10 from the raiser but the normal 10 landing on the flop held to take me out in 7th position. From there JD pushed it all the way in order to try n take down 1st place only to eventually finish 4th.
The £200 freeze out saw me on a very strong table which included a player called Paul Moss who recently finished 7th at the GUKPT Grand Final in London and another GUKPT player featured was Paul Gardner who was 2nd in the Blackpool leg. Played total solid with the exception of putting down top pair Q on board when sitting with AQ to an all in bet from Paul Moss. He showed 106 diamonds for bluff which shook me for a while for 2 reasons. Losing out on a good sized pot but mainly the opportunity of making a very strong player virtually broke.
The field was reduced to last 20 for the return on Sunday and sitting with 20k in chips had me in 15th place. 2 to my left was yes once again Mr JD Jnr Devlin with about 40k in chips.
A position raise 1st hand with kq saw me take down the pot and after an interesting hand when JD put down top pair on board after investing 1/2 his chips local player Peter Collins showed AK to his all in for a total bluff. Next hand saw me go out when my 4 X BB raise with AK was called and a flop of 9 10 J. Peter bet 6k which I called making me now committed to pot for a rag turn. Putting me all in brought another J on river with peter sitting with AJ.
Peter went on to finish runner up with congratulations to Gary Wilson Junior who was tipped by Gyposdog to win it.

Now the jet lag n lack of sleep is wearing off I thought Id put down the 10 best good and bad experiences of the 2 week trip to the caribbean classic.

1; How the organisors and Crypto staff quickly sorted the very awkward situation when flight got cancelled.

2; Opportunity of getting to know better the people ive met before mainly in vegas at the WSOP.
Meeting some other very interesting characters which hopefully I can keep in touch with namely Lee n Mandy from Southampton, John Devlin ( single pic above ) & Leanne from Newcastle,
Johla from Norway, Johan from Denmark, Dave " Whitedog or shud i say Mad dog " from Dundee, the Mad Turk, Chrissy ex geordie, Andy, Ben and Mr & Mrs Suddes from Newcastle, Stuart the gentle giant jock from North Berwick, Peter mad irishman Burgon,Martin who was also from Southampton and a guy with his wife from Accrington
who plays under the table name of fish.

3; The experience of live play at an event like this is always invaluable but also the fact that you see how others approach these sort of events.

4; Playing one of the best golf courses Ive ever played and confirming Im still shit at golf.

5; Playing on the same table as Rolf Slotboom- the mans a legend. Check him out at www.rolfslotboom.com

6; 2 weeks in a quality hotel with the facilities they offer and the weather being as it was is always good.

7; Eating at Blu, The Royal Grille, and The Stone Wall Restaurants.

8; Discovering the brand name Billabong for quality beachwear products from the young trendy Danes.

9; The 2/1 exchange rate of dollar v pound making it easy also to work out clothes prices for Sandra.

10; The staff at the Marriot who were so helpfull especially when the missus had a bad fall and there help in also moving rooms.

1; The attitude and behaviour of some of the younger players who just get totally carried away with themselves.

2; The wanker Skandie pro who behaved like a little kid when his QQ was miles behind my AA yet had another player after him still to act.

3; The awful seats on XL and the poorest on board service Ive ever known together with the most annoying gay air steward Ive ever seen.

4; Animals readings of Golf Course yardage even though he still won the wonga.

5; Not taking me lap top.

6; Being there only 2 weeks instead of 3 or 4 or 5

7; Folding AA 2nd hand of 400 Freezeout like a pussy.

8; Being ripped off by jet2.com for flight back to newcastle on a 1/2 empty plane.

9; Not cashing in anything major and coming back in minus bankroll although still feel total trip cost was worth it.

10; Having to wait 12 months till next one.

The long trek home was interupted with the news "" TECHNICAL PROBLEM "" oops that means the planes bust in geordie lingo. After hours at the airport it was oops sorry but back to the hotel till the planes fixed. We eventually got away just after 4 in the afternoon the next day. It was into Gatwick 4.30 uk time and our connection up north at 8.30 Insurance claim to submit but it was all worth it! Roll on next year and a rumour it could be a cruise.
Saturday sees the 3month 200 freeze out over 2 days at the Grosvenor which is the best game in the North East outside of major tournaments. 10000 starting stack with 45 min blinds over 2 days. HOPE THAT JOHN DEVLIN DOESNT TURN UP SO WE GOT CHANCE TO WIN!

2 weeks of sun & poker and its all over. Main event winner Brian Jensen from Denmark pipping well known internet star THienry to the biggie. Must say the little romanian had handled himself all week like a true gentleman and big congrats to him. Last hand hes got his money in ahead with 2 pair A4 only for river to give the dane his flush. Sooooooooo close.
Big mention also for John Devlin from Newcastle who must have been the most consistent player here finishing 15th in main event , winning the 300 freeze out and even cashing well in the 500 freeze out. I look forward to meeting up with John next Saturday for the Grosvenor 2 day event freeze out starting the 8th December. Hes told me hes investing some of his hard earned dosh on a new singing and dancing lap top. P.S. Thanks for the meal m8y.
Nearly time to leave for airport so its adios and homeward bound. Met some great people here and look forward to keeping in touch with them. Its a small world.

Main event is now really deep and John Devlin from toon has just went out 15th for $13600. Killer hand just happened with him well stacked was a push with JJ to a raise and then call guy showed AQ. Flop Q then turn Q had John crippled in a 400k pot.
Still wd to him and a nice stack against his up coming wedding.

The way of life here is of one pace - SLOW so its no good getting all worked up over daft things. All week Sandras Martini and lemonade ( sprite ) has came and gone as VODKA OR GIN mix which has been returned to the bemused bar tenders. So when Oranges arrives he finds good old Tom the super efficient agent organisor has cocked up his hotel booking. Eventually this is sorted and Oranges is seen hobbling about the resort in total agony with a slipped disc in his back. Marriot being ever so helpfull recommends he visits the local witch doctor in town. On returning Oranges is absolutely amazed at this guy and what he has done and found and with only one session the pain has already eased. His next appointment is booked a couple of days later and off he goes in a taxi unable to get there quick enuff to ease the pain hes in. On the journey into town a car pulls out suddenly at a junction forcing the taxi driver the throw the anchors on putting Oranges off his seat but worse for him jolting his back with severe pain hitting all through his body. OMG get me to that docs quick please but on arrival he is greeted at reception by the news that the doctor has been forced to go on an unexpected emergency and is going to be a little bit late for Oranges appointment. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO he thinks and asks the question " pleae how long do you think he will be because im in agony here " The reply is bad being told " It will be at least 4 hours ". OH no what can i do then he asks her which brings back the quote of the week by far in typical caribbean fashion " TAKE A SEAT PLEASE IN THE WAITING ROOM "
Poor Oranges it just aint been his week. Room cock up, in total agony with back, suck out after suck out against him, cant get money out of broken down cash machine so is told he can get cash out his poker account at desk. What is charge for doing this- 8% yes 8% of amount withdrawn. Wow he betta improve his ROI and quick at those rates.
Get well soon m8y.

Y aye man ccanny lads. Its congrats to another Grosvenor regular opponent from final table Ben Holmes ( you do know him rest of teamdobbs ) Slogging it out till the early hours he gained a seat in the main event from the last super satellite of the week. 8 seats were up for grabs and the critical hand came on final table when Danish guy in mid position with reasonable stack pushed all in with AK. Im standing behind Ben at the time and its bingo time for him when he looks down at AA. Showdown for Denmark and his AK lose puts him in desoerate situation devastating his stack. Few hands later and its BB putting him all in. 3 callers check it down and showdown gives 3 full houses with Danish guy at wrong end of it.
Megga well done Ben and another Geordie through to the biggie.
The afternoon 400 freeze out saw Luke ( Meg80) make final table although he relatively low stacked. Congrats on 7th place for about 1700. Brill bud and he was deffo best supported player at final table all week. Crucial hand of final was when 9 handed a push all in by Noseyboy guy from DAAAARNNN SARTH was re raised all in by ClintonO and then anutha all in followed by an aggresive skandie. MONSTA POT. Showdown gives Nosey 88 Clinton AQ and Skandie KK. Flop of 245 brings turn of 8 and woops from Nosey . Rivvvveerrrrrr miracle 3 and Clinton straight takes him big chip leader. Classic crypto stuff.
Few hands later last 6 chop it up with Clinton taking down 1st popsition and a nice little 10k.
Decent nite for me clearing over 1000 in stts and me n Animal troop down for burgers and off to bed. Nite nite and no eartquakes please!

I had the pleasure the other nite to play with a skandie guy who is well known in poker circles named Rolf Slotboom. Deffo the best enjoyment outside of winning of this trip. His table manner and humour, his play and constant varied banter mostly was a joy to listen to. I look forward to his company again and mite evn buy his book !

wow decided to give 400 freezeout a miss to get some sleep and play the last chance satellite tonite for main event. Woke up to find out an earthquake shook the place with people running out the card room ffks. me n sandy fast asleep in bed.hope i wasnt snoring too loud.

Dont get too excited the toon sucess aint mine ! 2nd event and 2 geordies make final table. Mark Soapy Suddes takes 7th place and Stanley regular John JnrD Devlin chops 1st place for $9000.Megga well done you 2. Final table was all action affair with Mad Irish Man Peter Drummie Burgon up to all sorts of antics. Last 4 was crazy with John Devlin, Mad Irish Man, Romanian guy ( Thienry friend ) and Asian guy with Liverpool top on. Mad irish man single raises Devlins BB and call. Flop comes 58A to check from John and Irish man pushes all in to instant call from John holding 85. Bingo and Paddy is down top 4500 on blinds of 8000. Suck out after suck sees him get back to level incredibly and he trys to steal Liverpool top guy with q6 for call with AK hts. Flops is k610 turn 7 river QQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQueeeeeeeen. Unreal.
Last 3 chop it for gr8 final table. Pi8cs to follow soon.

Shirley Bassy and diamonds aint for ever Im afraid. Im in good postion 22 left for 6 seats my BB on last hand of session all fold sb who limps in for 200. Im AQ hts and bet 1000. He calls and flop is 10d 7d 3 s He checks so I bet out 1400 and after long thought he calls. Fk cant back out now and before turn is dealt Ive decided Im all in. Turn brings 5 d he checks and I push but no instant call so Im sure Im still ahead. Oh dear hee it comes ( cant fold even though Im behind and you got me ) He shows Kc Jd and yip in comes the 5d for runner runner flush but wtf he was calling my continuation bet for confuses me?

Last chance today to sat into main event. Not gonna play this afternoon so hope Im better focused.

Interesting hand during sat was with big name skandie pro to my left. My BB he raises UTG to 600 on 200 blinds. Frenchie to his left calls all fold to me looking down at AA. Do I push or flat call ck the flop then bet out? I decide fk it no messing about cos Im sure skandie got top premium hand the way hed been playing. Push all in and then omg all the outcrys and dramatics start. He openly discussing and announcing I got AA. Didnt think at time but should of beasted him about this cos Frechie to his left still to act. He folds QQ and Frenchie also folds.
Have my time again I totally give him verbals.
Anyway time running out so betta post.
Thanks to cockney guy for offer of 10% buy in for me into main event. Much appreciated but Ill get through tonite man !

Its off and running after opening freebies of 2 hour bar and horses doofer things.
1st tournie saw satellite into main event with good field although tuff with only 1000 starter chips. Did ok till table move saw me exit after only 2 hands there. Guy utg itched to raise but flat calls and guy in 4th position moves all in for 1800. I call with my 99 for utg limper to re raise all in and commited me sees 88 at top of table but jj to re raiser.
Onto cash table 1/2 which was gr8 laff and then the mad norwegian sits down making it virtually $15 dollars min bet when hes in hand. Where are the poker gods when u need them and was totally card dead but got steadily more drunk. Busted out at 4.30 in morn with the dreaded 99 again. Wake up next morn with stonkin headache and paracetamol desperately needed.
Day 2 sees the 200 freeze out which although slow start steadily speeded up. Decent field with top 18 cashing. Raise to my bb by button got me to push all in with qq and he shows kk ouch. Queen flop gets me home.
THienry to my right and Azimut 3 to my left. Push with 66 on my bb after TH raised and called with A9. Turn brings my set cos TH hits river A and Im decent stacked now.
The dreaded table move and antes kick in. Card dead for an hour then AK clubs BB. Guy on SB limps 2 way pot. I raise to 1200 to which he immediately pushes all in. My call is greeted by OH FUCK LOOKS LIKE I BEEN CAUGHT. He shows K 10 off.
FLOP COMES K 10 3 AND DOESNT IMPROVE bye bye. Another fkn suck out and not far off the cash.

Its the 26th and last night saw the start of the influx for the tournament week. Glad I came out week early cos weve had great relaxing week in prep for the hectic week ahead. Cash tables now in operation and last nite saw the 1st 2/5 open up. Not for me just stuck to 1/2 and after being totally card dead for hours eventually hit a few hands to come out 270 up- do me.
Introduced to lovely guy named Mad Turk on way out and he certainly likes to gamble.
He was like a bricklayer building a wall on the 2/5 then even jumped over to craps while still on poker and played like a demolition expert.
Moved room this morning so Sandy can be in main part of hotel. Gr8 decision as we now have excellent ocean view room with balcony. Best thing though is room is very close to Casino and its an easy walk back for her - makes me more relaxed now.
Rite its pool time - tuff life sometimes!

Arrived safe and sound in St Kitts and the resort is just as good if not better than I had been told it was.1st 2 days was pretty quiet and we got a game of 1/2 cash in the casino. Down 100 1st nite up 450 2nd so happy wit that. Funny the characters you get sitting at these games. We called one guy string bet ernie for his efforts and spent 10 minutes explaing his flush of hearts to a 6 was no good as Rob Price held the nuts with the Q to a 4 heart flush.
Played golf and the course was megga with a back 9 to die for along the ocean. Off the wall and richochet palm tree Luke collected along with Animal. Shared back 9 and Azi lost all. He soon pull it back in poker no doubt.
Reet gotta go l8 ers all

Hit the bar

Close but no cigar, just moved to full tilt after doing in what was left in my pokerstars account. Deposited 600dollars so I'm going to work on getting the 100% bonus, realising its going to take some getting considering i mainly play mtts at low stakes i decided to try my hand at cash, 300 down and haven't even cleared my first 20dollar bonus lol. So fuck chasing bonuses for me and stick to what I'm best at which is mtts. Managed a final table in the 3.5k played really well the blind system goes up slower on here which also works for me. Went out in 6th place which was disappointing, me qq in bb position all fold to button he single raise, i all in he sits for ages calls 2 thirds off his stack and shows kjc hit my set on flop he hits flush draw, turn flush, river no help I'm gone. He then types in a load of slaver of how sorry he is which didn't take the bitter tastes out off my mouth as the money was just starting to get nice, oh i also bubbled in a freeroll for some aussie millions thing which I'm still wounded over the guy who i was heads up against from 315 runners was 1wisdomking a real gent and a real solid player, i wish him all the best in the qualifier and before i forget MEGA garden party at whickham tonight meet at bridlepath @ 7:30pm wait till u see my new waterfall with lights ha ha

Die slowly steve maclaren

Well its a very bemused gyposdog here, im fucking distraught at englands pityfull efforts last night. What that stupid ginger cunt maclaren was thinking of i dont know but its fair to say he didnt do what he was meant to do and therefore has been sacked and rightly so. The thing that nearly pisses me off as much as us not being there, is the fact that useless horsemouthed cunt is getting a WHOPPING pay off for being shite at his job WTF? Personally id of loved to dig out the old footy boots and stamped his p45 down his throat but thats just wishful thinking. On a much lighter note id like to say a BIG BE LUCKY LADS to all the gang out in st kitts and a special be lucky to teamdobb and azimut, i think this could be the one, we still 10%dc?

No online poker all week as I look forward to St Kitts trip. Decided to give the Stanley Casino £20 Sunday night a whirl to mainly get tired out for the long haul. Decent field again and at the break and top up was happy with stack and the just short of £2000 pot giving £600 to winner. Only one major pot I was involved in when well stacked raised with JJ in early position to find 4 others get involved including 2 small stack all ins. JJ was best pre flop hand but a kq8 flop didnt look promising.Still betting but both checked and a 10 turn. Ck Ck brought 9 to give me straight. I pushed all in and the hesitation told me I would be lucky to get paid off so I was surpried with the extra 15k call and he showed 99 from river trips. Other 2 involved in hand showed ak and kq. Monsta pot was enuff to let me cruise abit into final table. Bit sorry for Barry " the rail " when well stacked on 50k plus pushed all in to a 20k raise for the guy to call and show JJ. Didnt help that I was dealing to turn the 3rd Jack on the river and Barry was gone. Game is so cruel at times.
Disappointed myself at final table in mad rush of 3 hands. Single raise faced large all in to have to fold. Raised in late position with KJ hearts to run into slow play KK then on BB my J6 clubs got 10 6 2 with 2 clubs. My bet of 12k faced big all in raise but I thought he was bluffing so called. he showed 10 2 which held up.
Home for 1.30 anyway with £80 for trip fund and a chance to maybe snatch a couple of hours kip. Getting picked up at 4.45 for flight to Gatwick. Please please please no trouble with flight as we are fkd if there is. Meet up with rest of squad hopefully at 8 for our 11.20 departure to St Kitts. Over and out now and Ill keep in touch during trip.

I saw him in the evening and he was acting really strange. I had been shopping in the afternoon with the girls and I did turn up a bit late so thought it might just be that. The bar was really crowded and loud so I suggested we go somewhere quieter to talk. He was still very very subdued and distracted so I suggested we go somewhere nice to eat.
All through dinner he just didnt seem himself, he hardly laughed and didnt pay any attention to me or what I was saying, I just knew something was wrong.
He dropped me off back home and I wondered if he was going to come in, I could tell he didnt want to but after hesitating he did.
I asked again if there was something wrong but he just half shook his head and turned the televission on.
After about 10 mins of total silence I said I was going upstairs to bed. I put my arms around him and told him I loved him dearly. He didnt reacted too much but gave a sigh and a sad sort of smile. He didnt follow me up but did after about an hour and I was totally surprised when we made passionate love. He still seemed distant and a bit cold and I started to think that he was going to leave me and that he had found someone else. I cried myself to sleep.

No success in my 1st live event pre St Kitts trip at Grosvenor and decide to venture to Stanleys for the Tuesday £10 £10 £10 event ( entry, one top up one max re buy )
Decent field of around 60 so winner be about £500.
1st hand guy hardly shuffles new pack in order and guy to my left says " Im folding without looking- did ya see that shuffle" Sure enuff A5 hearts and a flop of 2 hearts on board and inside draw for me. Decent bet which I call. Turn brings obv hit straight and all in. Called by other and I fold ( forgot its rebuy ) They both show straight to which turn heart comes in on river> ( wudda cudda shudda )
Next hand AJ sb I call 300 bet raise. Flop gives me top pair which I bet for raiser to announce all in. Fk it call now I have re buy announcing I think you got QQ gl. Yip he shows QQ but poker gods smile for rvr jack to appear. Next hand see me flop flush and take down another nice pot. Why isnt it always like this?
Get to break with 1/2 decent stack and shortly after start take down monsta pot calling single raise with 67 diamonds to flop straight with straight flush draw. 2 others betting into me and all in takes it down. Crusing now and my KK decent raise is called to anutha Jack high flop and all in announced by guy with flush draw. KK holds up.
Final table sees 3 players fall quick and eventually last 4. Call with Q9 for big stacked BB to announce all in. Gamble gamble time I call and he shows a7 off. Dealer obliges nicely with qq3 flop followed by quad queen on turn.
My 99 takes out next player and then heads up 2/1 stacked against with good m8 of mine Craig Foggo the provy man. We had decided to split money but still play for the " Pride" lol.
2nd hand AA . I limp for him to announce all in. He shows ak and board comes 4 diamonds to his King but I also have the diamond Ace. Next hand he calls to my 96. Flop comes 39k and he announces all in. No way him King I call and he shows 36. 9 stays good and its £350 quid each but a big convidence booster for St Kitts.
Dollars please Mr Cashier.
One at least or max 2 more live games before leaving on Monday for St K.
Ill keep u informed.

Just finished that last post and thought I would check out our other links. Was delighted to see my mate Azimut has re opened his blogg after a short break through one reason and another. Anyone that reads ours should not miss Azimuts. Always good stuff on there to help and amuse you.

Its a no no to my 1500 target I set myself for the up and coming St Kitts visit. A big double tilt weekend left me deciding thats it was no more online poker for 2 weeks and my return from St Kitts. Final amount achieved was $1128 over my period on Pacific which at the end of the day I should be happy with yet somehow I must admit being disappointed with. Trying to analize the situation left me with the conclusion my head wasnt on the job proppa and I was letting too many bad beats effect my game more than I thought. My final game online was the MPPP CPC Final on cryptologic which I was disappointed with after decent start. Top pair Q with AQ was caught by weak bet by me allowing straight to hit home and then up and down with flush draw flop to my Q 10 s didnt come home from my BB. So its now 4 live games before leaving and thats it.
Its always interesting when you talk to other online players about their feelings with regards to software and other common topics that come up. Hers a one for you to ponder. Have you ever been in a game when you fear you are playing more than one player in the same game. This is especially for you multi tournie players.

Forgot to mention the other day when I came out the Grosvenor from the Friday night tournament I was starving so called into the local drive thru Mcdonalds. They had a new tasty treat on offer. Heres the pic - don't miss it next time ya driving!

Mtt Success for Teamdobbs!

Just thought I would let you all know,Matto who is useless at posting had abit of success last week. Im relieved for him because there has been a general feeling of concern for his state of mind at the poker table! When I first met matto he used to win all the time but never really thought he was that great. After becoming friends from constantly playing "8maha two flops!" t the grosvenor cash games until 6 in the morning a couple of hundred quid lighter I realised he was a good player, tight but knew how to read the cards out there. Anyway Matto changed his game soon after getting ripped for being a tight bastard and for the last few months he has been donating more chips than lenny henry and bob geldof! Things have turned around for him now he played a multi on bluesquare last week...$100 double chance and won it picking up $3000! Nice one mate keep it up! I heard the new thursday and asked him what his bankroll strategy was now he has that, to which he replied "Im gonna play 2 / 4$ blinds or 5 / 10$!"

Its 16 days and counting to the Caribbean Classic in St Kitts. Dont want to sound a moaner but Ive been amazed and flabbergasted as to the very poor handling of our flight booking by the Crypto agent who is based in Canada. Im not the only one so that makes me feel better- i just hope I get there OK and will not be totally convinced until Im sitting in my seat on the plane and on my way.
Flying out one week earlier than start of tournie for a week of relaxation with my wife and a few of the regular online crew. Dont know what it is but I have this strange feeling Im gonna do well.
Hit bad patch on Pacific so decided to move to Poker Stars to give that a try. Bad start but Ive recovered and am now cashing regular in small stts although I do find it totally different to pacific but more enjoyable tougher game even though it is very low staked games Im playing.
After weeks of barren Friday nights at the Grosvenor I eventually got back to the final table despite being only 2400 at the break. Chip and a chair stuff.
Final table was total joke with a trainee dealer not having a clue what she was doing. When only 4 hands are dealt in a 20 minute level then you know something just aint right. After a few moans I became the bad boy and so bored out my skull decided to push with 1st sight of hand I got. A9 was enuff utg which hit AQ and bye bye in 8th place which to be honest I was glad to get off the table.
S2C2 had the joy of finishing in bubble position 10th but hes now getting reasonable consistent finishes there.
Good luck to Drunkenmaster7 on full tilt but I know hes already hitting good results so be lucky and keep trucking.

how do yee play this MEGGA hand?

reet i need to start assessing how to play hands abit more so any advice feel free to post your thoughts. This is Karen33000 by the weay writing!
Played a hand at the weekend and go all my chips in to win it in cash but still wondered if I could have played it differently.

Im small blind. The guy in first position raises, everyone else passes and I have 33 so I call. The big blind calls as well.

Flop..... ace diamonds, 7 diamonds, 3 spades

I check, big blind checks, and the raiser bets out.

Summary Now on this should i come out betting? You see if I bet and that raiser has a pair he passes and if the big blind called with an ace he might not b very confident about his kicker. When I call with a pocket pair Im looking to win a big pot if hit trips.

So the raiser bets. Now should i flat call or raise because of the diamonds??

I decide to min re raise him after he bets pot. What do you guys think of that? i did it ebcause I want it to look like a "see where I am bet rather than "Look I have a hand!".

He just flat calls me.

Turn is nothing..... 9 hearts

So I think.... right what should I do. I decide to check and try to make it look like i think my ace kicker aint good.

Thing is when I do this if he had diamond draw i let him draw free when i have put alot in if he checks. He also may check because he aint sure... which means I have missed a round of betting on a big hand. Would you lot check or come out betting? would you bet big? Also I have done before a weird bet that gets mixed results what do you think of this. On turn in other hands with trips I have bet eg 4 dollars into a 140 dollar pot because Im hoping he thinks im trying to curb the betting on my diamond draw so he over bets the pot.

He anyway bets pot again so I know he must like his hand now so I raise him back and he goes all in. When i raise there would you bother re rasing him? After all he still has enough cash to pass his hand.

Anyway Im all in as river card comes. Its no diamond and it doesnt pair teh baord. I win the hand and he mucks it but Im left thinking if I got lucky played it wrong but still got paid because the player was crap?

Is Dobbsy INCH of newcastle???

this isnt Davey its Karen33000, i have lost my bloody password! this post is abit different from davey and Dobbsy moaning about their bad beats!! I divvent narr if you lot see around the toon sumone tagging "INCH" well I have a funny feeling it may be dobbsy deein this with Berlin Batsey holdin the ladders as he tries to get to those awkward spots to tag "INCH". I am sure i have seen them cans u do spray painting with in his big bench hoddies!
Here is an interesting site to look at. Go to the outdoor section which is probs the most interesting. The bloke is called banksy who sells all his stuff for megga bucks. I reckon its The Railman - Bazza in disguise to pay for all his buy ins.
I divvent narr about u lot but I was always a dab hand in the old art classes at skool. Beastieboy used to be a loner sitting on the ferry on his tod with his art book sketching away until the big boys came across and broke is HB pencils!

Last few days have been pretty awful to be honest and I must admit alot of it is down to me. Ive went through alot of games where Ive been totally raped wit crazy calls, suckouts and bad play but overall im being totally honest with myself in that my head hasnt been on the job proppa. Ive also learnt the hard facts that if ya not totally in the right frame of mind then yill most certainly loose money.
Ive been given advice from a few people I respect as they mean it in my interests and I hope over the next days that will pay off.
Anyone going through a bad patch have alook at your own actions 1st, get advice from people you trust and respect ( thanks gypo and wil ) Then get back on with a postive attitude and right frame of mind and take that money from those fish out there.

North or South...?

You decide where you want to play poker.

Im just about to close down after having a totally shit day. Game after game Im in well ahead to be took out by incredible hits. Some of the worst calls and plays Ive seen online for ages getting rewarded and then they give them all away a few hands later. Suppose its the norm on some days and musnt moan cos at least Gyposdog won a 50 seater to boost his sharkie ROI and Kimberley scored for S2C2 on X factor exit but just before Im going to close down I decide to check out a linked blog site of Punterz who posts some very interesting stories, facts and info on his blog.
I post this link for you as published and highlighted by him with regards to Hacking into online poker and being able to see other players hole cards. OMG that guy was deffo playing against me today I reckon.
Have a look at this its scarey http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21381022/

HOOOORAYYYY! Last night saw the ice finally broken and I must post to say WD and CONGRATULATIONS to S2C2 who made his 1st live final table at the Grosvenor Casino Newcastle upon Tyne. From 70 players a respectable 7th place finish was achieved which also included some very brave all in bets when at bubble situation to reach that final 9. Wd buddy . Many more to follow I guess.
By the way for those that dont know S2C2 is the person that started me playing this crazy game a few years ago when I caught him playing online in his bedroom- MY SON - whose now 19. Roll on 21 and your 1st WSOP.
Waiting for him after me going out with about 30 left to the normal crazy call and suck out when well ahead at these events I decided to play cash ( dont know why cos I always loose ) £100 soon disappeared when my KK raise pre flop was re raised by young Chinese guy for £45 more which seen his A7 off suit hit to take down £100 plus pot then 3 hands later when on mini tilt I have 9d9h in 2nd pos. I call with another for sb to raise X3. We call to flop of 8h10hJh.SB goes all in his last 20 and I re raise all in for £65 for other limper to think hard and call.
SB shows AA no hearts Other limper shows Jd Qh. Turn is Jc River brings Qs to fill his Full House. Bye BYE GG WP. and the thought of ( why the fk do I play cash )

Just thought I would update on St Kitts target and mention a few players Ive come across at these low level tables. Im still on target for my $1500 and the Marriot burgers for the lads but have been amazed lately as to the higher standard of players I continually come across at these $10 tables and how tough these games have become. I previously mentioned the tool sharkscope which I use and although others have differing thoughts on this tool I think it gives you the sort of info you can pick up around the table when playing live as it gives you a bigger picture of the players youre up against. I have certainly seen the big advantages it gives you for online play. I also find it VERY VERY useful if someone at the table is giving you grief and bad chat for whatever reason. Normally a quick check of their stats always reveals their a losing player for which a quick fire back at them normally shuts them up cos they cant argue with you.
I played last night to find an old buddy of mine on a few tables against each other which was strange as he normally plays at a much higher stake and on diffrent sites. I must admit it was of the most enjoyable nights Ive had in a while because the crack was brilliant and I have total respect for his game so it helped me concentrate that much more for decent results. Hope he continues to play at the same tables the scandie geordie wot he is because it brought back gr8 memories of the good old days.
Finally I would like to mention a guy called WilWonga who Ive came across so many times on Pacific. Ive shown his stats in this post because in my opinion they are incredible but also Ive started chatting with him in games to find he is such a nice guy and very very down to earth with the obvious success he has yets plays with a total respect of others at the table. Far too many players you come across are stuck far too much up their own arses its unreal yet this guy is a pleasure to play with and against. I wish him continued success. I also found it amazing that he very rarely ventures to play live and hardly ever strays from his £10 tables to higher stakes. Its obvious he has his feet very much planted on the ground. GL M8 and WD.
A couple of other players to mention were Blirger and 7to1.

hoodys over buddys

I think its only fair to let you all know that my love for that jumper carrys on until this day, its actually my favourite work jumper and seems to keep me that little bit warmer than any other jumper on these cold and frosty mornings, its an affair thats still going strong and it will be a sad day when i eventually hand it on, so to here jamo talk about benchy with such a bitter toungue really boiled my piss.

Well i can remember when i was a newby around the casino and poker tables, me and deeiron used to sit at the bar and give people nicknames for our own savage amusement, i think we have a nickname for all the regulars, which i wont say here just now cos the captain still trying to get it through to me what i can and cant actually post but i promise folks im definately going to start throwing the shit before long. anyways karen33000 a.k.a. monty burns a.k.a. The Rentboy a.k.a. what the fuck you called karen33000 for in anycase you fucking creep? oh id honestly say karen33000 had more nicknames than any other, it was probley down to the way everyone used to piss themselves laughing at the way he used to have his arse sticking out of his jeans and that absolutely HIDIEOUS brown/green fleecey hoody bought from doon the quay, i honestly thought you were a skateborder until i had to change the tire on your car for you in the interval of a tourny. im more than willing to go to war over that jumper and unless you apologise i will start a weekly blog mentioning all them hissyfits ive witnessed you throw. Writeing this has reminded me of that buzz i used to get playin live but them days seem so far away now, its so slow and full of people who think they know more than they actually do, anyways best leave off there cos im in danger of going off on another little rant.

I Narr Wat Yee Got!

Just a little post from Karen33000 on Daveys profile cause Im shocking on computers and have forgottwn me password so signed in on his.!

Just wondered wat the general opinion on tells is from the crew?? I know the captain Davey is big into getting a "read" on people. Such as when that stupid woman at the grov is umming and arrhhing and Davey gaans haway man! and she starts kicking off Davey gaans " Oi PET I narrr how yee play man!".
I dont generally watch people to be honest, just because Im soft as shite and I dont want people starting on me and plus I cant be arsed to stare at their ugly mug! I do remember a famous incident wit Matto. We were playing on the infamous round table in the grov in cash, playin seven card stud. Matto gets a nine showin wit two 9s underneath and everyone is betting. Well matto starts rockin and shaking like there is no tomorrow! He is trying to raise Riaz but is struggling to get his 1 quid chips stuck together in typical grov style out of the famous troughs where u used to keep urs chips!.
I dont believe Gyposdog dobbsy reads people because he is too busy taking the piss out of some poor quiet kid who has just moved to the city to study when he is pist!
Matto just doesnt read people all he thinks is "I can push this guy off the hand, I will fire again", whilst looking at the roulette wheel to see if his numbers have hit!
Davey is the man who reads people and dominates McNally!
Beastieboy reckons he has tells on me but is just a pure nuts player.
So lads we got any tells on each other? apart from that Gyposdogs only wins when he wears that shit bench jumper!

Another classic one liner

As a similar posting one liners at tables always amuse me. Im not a drinker and not one one for frequenting a local but when they started a poker league at our local pub I thought yes this could be of interest. The 1st few weeks were as normal an eye opener as to the levels people play at but also an eye opener as to the understanding that alot of people have. Most dont even understand basic rules and what beats what yet sit there telling others what and what not to do.
At the 3rd week of our league I was involved at a table with a guy who at first I thought was on drugs but on more research found him to be just abit slow. Q3 was a monsta to him and 2 pair was virtually unbeatable. I was in BB sitting with 64 off and checked to 4 callers. A flop of 664 made me smile and even more when after checking this guy bets 200 on 50 blind level and I call to leave me and him left in pot. Turn brings a 10 to which I check and he bets 500 to which I call. River is an ace and I have 1800 left to his 2700. I push all in and he calls. Turn of cards and im expecting to see him with an ace at least yet he shows 35. I say to him " why did u call? "
To which he replied: " I WAS TRYING TO BLUFF YOU " I said but you called? the classic reply of " so what you could of had nowt" never ceases to amaze me.

Keeping ya feet on the ground

A big danger when playing poker is to get carried away with alot of the hype that surrounds the game. The emergence of poker on TV and the choice of games online has obviously progressed the game at a rapid pace but what must always be remembered is that for every winner there are at least 4 losers. The big winners are online sites and organised poker tournaments that dont just occasionaly win but win EVERY TIME.
At my 2nd wsop trip I was amazed at the amount of money loosely gambled and also the stories of losing amounts I was told. Now I must admit Im not exactly short of a few quid but I do strictly manage my poker bankroll and play at a level and a limit that I accept. To be honest if I was continually losing I would NOT play- simple as.
Trouble is I see alot of others get carried away with not only themselves and their self esteem and egos but their financial situation. In no time they are seriously in debt and chasing getting deeper and deeper. Be sensible and manage ya money correct and play at your right level to enjoy it.
Another thing very important is not to let this game get in between friendships which it easily can if not careful. Friends are so hard to find but you can play poker anywhere.

St Kitts target

Setting yourself targets in my opinion in poker is very important no matter what levels you play at. After 2 years of promising myself I have finally booked and am going to the Caribbean Classic Poker Tournament in St Kitts. 1st week will be spent seeing the island and relaxing soaking up the rays and facilities of the 5 star Marriot resort. The 2nd week is the CPC in which I will play the afternoon tournies and maybe a couple of satellites to try and get entry into the main event . I mite even still win a package in the MPP final on crypto 1st week in November for which they are giving 70 packages. ( Hope theve fixed their software malfunctions that seem to happen to me when I play on there )
Any way once I booked I needed something to aim for as playing multis for the CPC in my opinion and also after reading a posting by Azi was just not value for money. Ive been getting good success on Pacific and after a little bit of research on Sharkscope decided that low value stt of $10 and 20 seater $8 tournies suited me and also attracted alot of very bad players. Fishbowls galore just kept popping up.
I set myself a sensible target of $1200 to reach before St Kitts of the 19th November and as at todays date I am well pleased with my returns and want my arse kicking if I dont get it and maintain the 1200 for the trip. In fact if get to 1500 i will buy the rest of the lads a Special Marriot Burger they all talk about. ( yum yum ) Mite even buy Tom the travel agent one !

Classic one liner

Everyone has things that have been said around a poker table that sticks in their mind and Im no different.
Had been out to a function during an all day expenses paid with my accountant and ended up at Grosvenor on that night for rookies night at £3 quid entry rather the worse for the drink.
At the end of the table was a blonde girl with a bright pink fluffy jumper cut low revealing a huge pair of bazoomers. It was obvious she was a new player and appeared very nervous. I started talking to her trying to help her relax and it seemed to work as she even started talking back to me even though i was pissed.
Anyway it was early on in tournie with about 6 players in a pot with her on the big blind. A flop of 556 came to which she immediately pushed all in. Everyone folded to this to which i asked her " Wow big bet what did you have?" she turns over 55. Fk me i say why on earth did you bet and why so big? her classic reply was; I WAS WORRIED ABOUT SOMEONE HITTING THE STRAIGHT !
The rest of the table burst into laughter to which i replied; Honey you must be the worst player at this table but by god you got the best pair of tits here.

Worked well for her actually as she then relaxed to enjoy herself and since then has became a very decent tournie player.

well what a good tourney that was, although very pissed off at coming 4th i really enjoyed the game. from start to finish i really felt the buzz of playing and just knew id cash, does everyone feel like that somedays? i hope so cos it feels good. ive been on a good run of late and i strongly believe its down to me being happy in all aspects in my life, no outside pressures, some really good things all came together lately and well lifes just bloody great at the minute but im a realist and know it doesnt last so while the goings good im going to enter some bigger tourneys, the next post might be a horror story but until then im just going to enjoy it and remember thats why we started playin this game in the first place

Game on !

The team challenge consisted of 10 tables of 8 with one player from each team at each table.
At the time cos we were nearly all pissed we had no idea as to the format of the competition. As it turned out the tables were to be played till there was 2 left on each table from which they went to 2 tables then last 10 went to final table with points at final table counting to eventual winners. Top 2 teams were to be paid.
Can be gr8 playing poker when ya pissed cos it takes any fear factors away and also you are totally relaxed and can enjoy it more.
Sitting at my table was Arron, one of the highly regarded Aspers team who think the sun shines out their arses but I do get on ok with him and quite enjoy his crack. Next to him was a grosvenor legend in Barry " The Rail " Smith. He got his name after someone put it on the league board cos he always goes out tournies early and stands watching on the rail. He was NOT amused when he saw that and went ballistic. Deep down hes a canny lad with a gambling problem but if ya want to know any scandal or wots been happening just ask " the rail "
Tuff cookie Graham who plays the big cash table was there and another couple of very tight players who I didnt know names of.
Into the tournie we kept on drinking and just got louder n louder. Confrontations kept happening with Barry & Arron with Barry keep sucking out on him. I didnt want Arron to go cos I was sharing his ipod with Tiesto blasting through my ears. Azi was 1st to fall for us with others slowly following. Eventually I hit a set to check raise to Arron with top pair who goes all in and its bye bye Arron. Me and the rail go through from our table with Jamesy Adam & Gypos making it 4 from Teamdobbs. We in wit chance looking at others through.
Azi and Gyposdog had started on the cocktails and they were flowing fast n furious.
A quick dance to the background music with red lipstick Christine and its down to last 2 tables.
Gypos falls soon and Adam goes out around the bubble mark with me n jamesy make it onto final table.
We just hammered the final table wit crack cos another team had 5 players there so it was virtually a certainty they would win. Me n Jamesy had to be 1st and 2nd to pip them and the state we were in that was impossible. Jamesy goes out 5th so Im left on me own wit 3 others from same team. One of them was fat Mark who wears crazy gear and looks like a reet dik head most of the time and thinks hes a proppa pro.
Into last 4 and Gypos comes over and sits just off the final table having abit crack wit me winding things up abit more- bearing in mind theres no chance now of us winning cos they got too many points now guaranteed.
Mark shouts to the poker room manager - " Candice can you get this person moved please , he shudnt be near final table " Red rag to the bull and Gypo goes ballistic calling him a big fat specky ........ and car park calls are made
Fk this and all in to get off table as theres no point now and dont want anymore of this shit wit Mr Fashinable Marky.
Teamdobbs cashs for 2nd and more cocktails are on order.

Karen33000 the introduction!

Well I thought initially I better start off saying how I know everyone. I used to see Dobbsy rolling around the casino all the time with a bottle of bud stuck in his hand. He used to get knocked oot the poker come play cash and even though he could hardly see the cards he would be winning about 300 quid wit the chips scattered all over the shop after screwing a few poor lads over on the river. Unfortunately more than often the beers would keep flowing and soon he was down and slagging off his mate batsey! Davey soon came along and on the face of it you think he is this sensible bloke and soon you realise after listening to his table crack he is the biggest little kid even the place…. This being shown when he wouldn’t let me and Adam leave grosevnor until we listened to lemar on his CD player and saw his world series of poker shades!
I know Azi the poker guru through the team event and davey. Great crack down ozzy road together. Loving the kebab shop owner story. Well I think he must have had a few too many shots down ozzy road as he was first out! We are expecting great things from this squad member mind! And I want a lift in his Porsche he is gonna win!
Matto is the degenerate gambler of the group. He used to be the biggest grinder in the grov until he couldn’t handle the abuse anymore. Me and matto go back ages now after he used to make me tilt wit his shakey hands playin seven card stud and playin 1 quid on number 18 on roulette and hittin! He has now changed his game to ultra aggressive wit his “ I can get him off his hand” banter all the time.
Beastieboy is the young up and coming talent of the group. Me and the beast have been mates since about 10yrs old. He grinds it out on the 2 dollar tourneys then blows his cash on a speculative horse race or the beers on a Saturday down carling academy! He was star performer in the team event until the break came before the semi final tables when he carried on drinking. All I remember is turning round and him leaning over his table saying “any one raise im going all in!”, whilst spilling his drink!

Last but not least

Matto became member automatic on recommnedation of James who had started hanging round with him after his bum pal Rias had disappeared back to Pakistan for un known reasons!

The final member came by a strange turn of events. Many weeks prior to team selection me n Gypos were on same table and this loud mouthed cockney geezer sits down who we had seen a few times at previous tournies. There was no doubt this guy cud play but by god he told everyone he could as well. He was like a John Motson of poker at the table plus he was very derogative of Gypos play giving the impression he didnt rate him. We nicknamed him Spurs and decided to beast him abit over the coming weeks but to give the guy his dues he grew on us with his sense of humour and his solid game but mainly deep down he knew we were good solid players (as Gypos was to proove to him at several final tables) wit good crack and he wanted to be pals with us. No problem we thought and selection onto Teamdobbs was decided.
Week before team challenge after me paying all the team in I turn up to make sure Spurs is ganna show as I hadnt seen him for a couple of weeks. "Gis ya mobile and home number just incase any FING turns up he says to me " Ooops alarm bells ring and sure enough at 4.00 on night of tournie the call comes through he cant make it and we now one short.
Most of us had arranged to meet early for happy hour in Jesmond at 5 bells and I decide to just show up there and am confident we pick up the player we need to make up team there or at casino. The snooker lads Dave & Andy were meeting us at 7 in the casino.
I get there just after 5 and James and Matto are there with this other guy Adam. Telling James we are one down cos the cockney aint showing its no probs cos Adam is solid they reckon and so the 8th member is found.
Azi follows into pub but hey summit not reet here ! "" Wheres Gypos "" I had assumed he be there 1st cos he luvs the crack and the drink but no sign? Give Gypo a ring Jamesy who after several attempts on his mobile gives up announcing wrong number. I must be one of the very few people in the UK that dont have a mobile and dont miss it yet at that time a mobile was needed. No one else had his number so it was left at that.
From 5 till 7 the drinks flowed with several hits on the freebie wheel giving maximum return for minimum outlay and we pile into 2 taxis for the short journey over to the Grosvenor.
Already half tanked now we ready for Team challenge and there waiting was Dave , Andy and an easily wound up Gyposdog. Not pleased at all i reckon cos im sure through some mis understanding he thought we must of been giving early meet a miss. After a bit of wind up Im sure he thought we had delibrately side stepped him but Mick NO WAY! When ya a m8 of mine that wud neva happen. An announcement on the tannoy wanted me and i drew our team number from the hat for the team game which was about to start. Teamdobbs was about to go into action for the 1st Time. Lol - we were loud from the start, 1/2 cut and after a quick hand slapping between us the tournie began.

berlin bates

well as i mentioned in the previous post, it was batesy who got me into this and after a couple of home games i was ready for the casino. he was a regular and seemed to know everyone, although, in my opinion half off them arseholes but ill keep that for another post. it took us 5 tournaments until i got my first taste of success and by some strange coincidence the first time i wasnt pissed mortal, i ground out a 4th for 160 quid. after that i started playing alot more regular without batesy as he had other commitments ha ha. so im in a tourny and 1 of the regulars (a right arsehole) turns to me and says ' you not fancy going to the world cup with batesy?' i cant due to work commitments i says. the WORLD CUP im thinking to myself he never said fuck all to me then i realised hed been filling everyone full of shite . then everyone on the table starts sayin how amazing it would be and what an awesome experience it would be, then it was wheres he staying? and how much he pay for the tickets? im thinking u lying little bastard u put me right on the spot here, i know fine well he watched the first game down the local with my cousin, so i just have to take the stance of 'well i havent seen him for ages' and ' we mix in different circles'. theres no way im going to blow him up not to a bunch off gossips and was just pleased when the banta changed to something else. well his crazy behaviour nearly went unscuppered until he went to the casino with a proper friend of his, old time school mates the lot anyways when his mate was knocked oot, the cardroom manager was asking him about batesys trip to the world cup,(god knows what hed been telling her) imagine his horror as he hears ' HERE BATESY YEE WERENT AT THE WORLD CUP YA WERE AT THE WAGON WITH ME YA LYING CUNT' ha ha ha i wish i was there to see your face, i know u only lasted 2 more hands but i bet they the longest 2 you ever had. that'll fucking teach ya BERLIN BATES

Famous Member !

As previously mentioned in a past post I used to gamble on football with a very good friend of mine. He was asked to play in the team challenge and as such became a member of Teamdobb.
Me and this guy go back along way. We met whilst playing in a golf society and he just loved to have a bet. Golf was no difference and we would always wager on various aspects of our rounds with playing partners. Golf trips were great for this with myself running a book on singles and teams although I was always wary of offering too big on this guy because 1; He was always a big danger off his inflated handicap and 2: He would always bet himself no matter what and 3: Hes such a shrewd guy.
The guy even made a huge contribution to my buisness when in its infancy as he was well into computors and he produced my 1st ever brochure for which I was always so thankful for. We often laugh at the memory of a hand held scanner nicking pictures from others peoples catalogues in his house at Heaton from which catalogue 1 was launched. We even had great fun doing magic tricks together on strangers when out on the piss.
Any way there was no stopping this guy when introduced to poker and as such in a very short time this guy was becoming a ledgend online and his desire to win and to win something big took him to levels way beyond what i would ever achieve.
The night he was rivered when in front with JJ for a 10k trip to St Kitts in the caribbean will never be forgotten only for him a few weeks later to achieve the result he craved for in winning that package to his 1st main event at the Caribbean Classic. An invite from him to go with him and on the way play golf with him at Nick Prices golf course had to be declined for reasons Id sooner skip. This achievement was then dwarfed the following year when he went on to achieve something most players can only dream of.
Most players would be satisfied to win a seat at the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. Not this guy- he won 6 seats online at Full Tilt earning the acolade of the most seats won in the world gaining him status, huge prize money, his seat at the WSOP, a suite at Caesars Palace Hotel and a stretch limo at his disposal. All this and the guy is a Teamdobb member. AZIMUT a proppa mate and a hell of a poker player.

Pot Black

Snooker and poker often mix and as a result of this 2 other members of teamdobbs were introduced. Break times in tournies was often the time when people with the same sense of humour and interests congregated waiting for the next level to start. During one of these times the snooker boys Dave and Andy began talking to us. Like previously said to be part of Teamdobbs you need to be a good lad and as such this was a double hit in that these 2 mates just slotted in. There was no hesitation when me n gyposdog had to select our team that they were to be part of it. Both players have sucess online and live.We shall be revealing their online names at a later date.

easy money

well here we go, first post so may aswell tell u how i came into this amazing game. It all started when i bumped into an old school friend (batesy) in my local bar (a shithole) and he was saying he gonna take all these muppets money at cards. anyways i met a couple of mates and we had a few beers, the night went on and up pops batesy sayin easy money and put about 80 quid in my face claiming it to be his winnings, then he goes on to say he had come 3rd in a tournament at the casino for a cool 420 quid, thats it i wanted in, i invited him back to my house so he can show me the ropes, by 4am im down 120 quid and im hooked and from that day i knew that this was for me. well to cut a long story short the next time batesy came round for his nice little earner, he ended up skint and oweing me 360 quid lol easy money. id learnt so much that night and i hadnt even scratched the surface

As we have said only Teamdobbs members allowed to post.
James was selected for his calming influence on others and his soft spoken way. He is our Ladbrokes specialist online pro and our personal stockbroker although hes skint but makes a luverley cuppa coffee. We share a racehorse even though its 1% of wotever won online won in a joint effort by me, gyposdog ( main part ) and another member beastiebac playing under jamesy s table name of "" KAREN33000 ""
Now you know why he left Newcastle to go down to the big smoke where although he tells us he is a trainee stockbroker we believe he works in Soho maybe around the tranny scene.
Because of his move down south Jamesy s position in Teamdobbs was well in jeopardy with for long periods looking like he was going to be the sub. After an emergency meeting with me n Gypo it was decided he had to be in the 1st 8 and as such we made final table of the team event eventually finishing second due to Jamesys points contribution. Plus he looked lush in his Red Satin attire.

First few posts are mainly explanations as to how things started. The name was born so simple. Each week at the Grosvenor the winner of the multi tournie was given a card marker which we named as " Dobbers " Banter began with us as to who had the most dobbers and from there we chose players who had the same sense of humour and who in our opinion were good lads cos as we all know the game is full of up their own arse wankers. The Grosvenor then on our request decided to have a " Team " event challenge and from their we selected 8 good lads ( not necessary the best 8 players ) who would form Teamdobbs. The crack this created was unreal as week after week we dominated tables with crack which no others could compete against.
The prestige of being selected in Teamdobbs has now stuck with these players and the bond has remained. Hee hee.

Playing online is the normal way most people pick up poker and learn yet playing live poker with real people next to you is an experience any player needs. As my confidence grew I started visiting our local Grosvenor Casino to see what was on offer and was pleasantly surprised to find a very vibrant and busy group of players where a game was available virtually every night of the week. My 3rd visit gave me my 1st sucess and 1st final table and from then I was always at ease and comfortable in what alot of people find a daunting atmosphere.
One of my regular Thursday night visits I found myself out of the main tournie and decided to join a very noisy cash game that had started. Sitting down with my chips I found myself sitting next to a very young looking lad who was obviously worse the wear for drink and very loud and aggressive. I dont normally like this but there was something about this lad that I found amusing and interesting and as such spent the next couple of hours intrigued with. He had me cringing at times and laughing yet at no time did I think he was a pissed up dickhead. A couple of times I did make certain comments I remember but only in the interests of him as I felt he was getting a little bit carried away. I eventually left and the following week entered my normal Thursday night tournie to only be sat next to this same lad. As I sat down I looked at him and said " You sober this week?" He gave me a very strange look and in a very quiet voice said " aye but do I know you? " After I explained the previous week which he struggled to recall we got on with the tournie and spent the next few hours chatting normally and even at the break cracked on abit on various things. A special friendship was launched from then on which at the time I was to have no idea would happen. I leave it there for now with further exploits of what happened next to follow !

Funny how you meet people

I first started playing poker after catching my 15 year old son online and asking what he was doing. Turns out he was actually playing poker. I soon downloaded WillHill and playing free money under the table name 'deeirun'. I soon got bored with this as being a gambler, the lure of winning money was too stong. A few saturday afternoon freerolls later and initial success convinced me the road to riches had been invented and my first cash deposit was made. It took no time at all to be £200 down and then a £2 multi table tournament win gave me a + account bankroll. At the time, I was involved with a good friend of mine betting on football which we were very successful at losing. I thought I better not let him miss out on this chance and told him about this exciting game I had been introduced to. he was soon online himself playing udner the name of 'monacokev' and within a very short period of time the wins started pouring in for both of us (monacokev has since changed his name to the famous 'Azimut').

A lot of enjoyment I used to get at the time was the fun and humour created by the chat box during games and it was in this time that I regularly used to come against a player called 'ricbeau'. Rich and beautiful I thought and as such our chat became part and parcel of the game. Eventually, we swopped telephone numbers and made contact with each other as it seems we had a lot in common. During one conversation we had, I mentioned we were having a BBQ and said why don't you come up, it will be a good weekend. The following weekend ricbeau got a flight from Southampton to Newcastle and ever since we have become very good friends. So much so that despite Richard moving away to live in Prague we have still kept in touch and I was delighted to be invited and attend his wedding last weekend. Good luck Richard and I have gave you the honour of being the subject of my first post. I hope you don't mind me publishing your wedding photo.

The arrival of TEAMDOBBS

The TEAMDOBBS has landed into the world of poker blogs. For the last few months, myself and Michael (gyposdog) have read with interest the blogs of fellow players, some of them people we know personally being impresed but also disappointed. Gyposdog has plagued me for us to launch our own blog so here goes...I hope you all enjoy our entries and experiences in the future.
