These were my goals at the start of the year

1,Keep working on improving my mtt play.= Yup worked hard to improve my game watching cardrunner vids and playing more mtts.

2,play 4k sngos 45 mans and 9 mans= Nope once gaz walker won me over 9k didnt need to grind the sngos and it gave me more time to work on my mtt game.

3,Play more bigger games live as the small amount ive played i have 5 fts=Yup Played 2 ukipts and 1 £550 gukpt and 2 side events and 1 leg of spanish poker tour in majorca.

4,Try to help mrs stumpy improve her game(done amazing upto now playing 2 years and made a profit both years) needs to take the next step= nope we never seem to have the time but deffo going to try and make time.

5,Win the apat team game for the npf= nope bubbled the points in bolton and if id finished top 2o probably would of won. Then luton i final tabled but with george lawson the only other point scorer we fell short.

6,keep enjoying poker.yup trying to keep the balance of enjoying poker and making money which ive just about succeeded most of the year.

life goals

1,lose weight (getting another knee op on the 3rd of feb so hopefully get back to full fitness which will make it easier to lose weight)=massive fail im now the heaviest ive ever been i need to sort this soon.

2,keep enjoying life to the max=At times ive really struggled this year with my health and the kids have really tested my sanity but hopefully they are maturing at last, they are 17 and 20 and nice kids at heart but were hard work in 2011.

lowlights

1.Had 2nd knee op and been told nothing more they can do and come back when you need a new knee.

2.Going deep in day 1 at ukipt dtd only to lose big stack v fd that got there on the river

3,The closure of fulltilt losing about $1600ish but i suppose this could of been a hell of lot worse

4,The death of joe peel who i miss from the tables at circus, you were always gauranteed a good laugh when joe was on your table

5.And finally, standing in the hotel foyer at 4am watching the doc working on Teamdobb ( Dave Collins ) and just saying in my mind ffs please dont die, thank god he made an amazing recovery.

Happy Xmas and a Very Merry New Year

I was really looking forward to the sky poker at aspers but got up on the saturday morning and felt really rough,I thought a few bottles would put me right but as the day wore on i felt worse so mrs stumpy,knerrad,teamdobb and simmy headed over the road for a chinese that would pull me round emm after the soup we had to leave and had to stop the car on the way home spewing.I was ill for about 5 days felt hungary had something to eat spewed luvlee.As for the poker in the mtt i gave my chips to dan trett pretty early on who then went on to put them to good use by finishing 2nd and was very unlucky he didnt win with a couple of badbeats hup.Iwas over the moon for dan who over the last couple of years has played some great poker without much luck so this was a well deserved result and many more to come imo.

On the sinday after sky i was supposed to play the smoggies league playoff was really looking forward to this as well but ob missed this and was gutted.Was so pleased for Pam Butler for her win a great result for a lovely lady x

Online ive had 4 fts on willy hill and im running really hot on there but its the opposite on stars where i cant win a hand.Started off the month with a 4th in the 30r for $1330 a 3rd in a 2r and 3rd in a 20 f/o for $354 and $344 and finished the month with a 2nd in a 15r for $2795.

Live i played only twice this month had a 4 way chop in the circus/genting £50 f/o for £500 it was an old school ft with jonny the greek,andy wilson and gary collins chopping it up.

Got staked for the sky £100 rebuy on the npf but it ended up a nitemare as my puter was playing up not helped by skypoker lagging terribly with 5 tables up as it happened with hands i got never really got anything going sorry guys.

Went to a rugby reunion and had a canny day loads to drink and plenty of old time crack my favourite story was hazzas, after one game wed had a few pints and called into the halfway house pub and it was abit cold and we were all sitting round chatting when hazza picks up a bar stool and smashes a leg off and throws it in the fire everyone just looked in amazement as the stool leg bounced off the imitation coal fire and bounced onto the floor.lol.

live poker -Only played twice live due to having toothache most of the month couldnt be arsed to play or do much tbh had 1 ft for 8th.

Online poker -Had an 8th in the £100 f/o on skypoker ukops event ran kk into aa then finished 22nd in the ipoker 200kg i satted in for $22 and got $1145 reshipped with aj into aa doh.

Apart from those results ran like shit or played bad, im blaming my toothache well you have to blame something.

Staking-Had samj over at mine for a grind and he chopped the $11r on stars for $5.2k which i got half he played a couple of more session without any joy and has since obtained a fulltime staker so good luck with that sam. The only leaks he has now have nothing to do with poker as his game is top notch.He just needs to stop the brainfarts and hes ganna crush imo.

Horses-Break even for the month in running betting, but blew $500 betting pre race on the breeders cup.

It's been a while!

Well it's been a while since I blogged so thought I'd get on and do my annual review.

This year has been very stop start for me Poker wise. I've been concentrating on work stuff and online has taken a back seat for the most part.

To keep it brief highlights of the year really haven't really been very high but the NPF Team Championships went well for me personally. Again the dobbas took it down and I plced 4th individually falling to fellow dobba Paul Sewell after I made a mad push.

Day 1 was a breeze tbh, I was sober and a drink didn't pass my lips all day, I played tight for the most part (in true dobba nit style) only problems I had was with some kid from Ace of Clubs called Ty. He was pissed before the tourney actually started, got a big stack and totally ran over the table.

Day 2 I decided to have a few pints with a couple of team mates and Knerrad.

Big mistake, I reshoved out of turn with AA early on when a kid to my right was about to ship with 99 so I missed out on a juicey pot there. I made some other horrendous mistakes but none too damaging to my stack and like I said I donked out 4th when I felt I had a decent chance of taking it down. Only other memories of the day really was a superb performance from Buzz.

I haven't really played anything else live except for my Monthly Boldon 30 quid freeze out where I won the DTD league which I haven't played yet. Hopefully I'll get down there in January and obv bink that.

Hetton Thursday League has been another highlight for me,, I was invited by Gaz Scoop to play their League for the APAT which I squeezed into in the last League game.

That was largely uneventful at Dtd as I donked out in about 4 hours (obv too much to drink again)

Other than that I have played here and there online. Firstly Blair dog staked me earlier on in the year and returned him a few bob but spunked off my roll on FTP playing (again) drunk, still havent apologised for that yet but as I said I made him a few quid so not bad overall and even if I hadn't done that fucking LEDERER woulda had the twat anyway.

As for me personally online, It's been stop start for reasons already mentioned.

Had one or two 4 figure scores but all under 2k.

For most of the year I've made Silver star on stars without putting much in and might try and play a lot more next year but not sure what I want to play yet, whether it be sngs or mtts or a mix.

I've been trialling cash this last 2 weeks but I think it's given me a brain tumour. What a grind it is. Hats of to all cash grinders out there, you have to be nuts to do that imo.

Next up for me is the Smoggies League Live Final in a few weeks time. Im in a decent starting position after a few wins and a few extra starting chips, again, obv I'm gonna ship that.

The crack in the games online on Wednesday nights have been good and will be a special day to see all the lads together and have a laugh.

After that I think I'm calling it a day for the rest of the year. A nice break and Xmas is on the agenda then back on it in January.

I put some money in skypoker for there ukops events which i felt were good value as most of the fields were made up of sat qualifiers, eventually only got to play the saturday night a £20r which i went out straight nd flush draw v top pare no kicker and the £100 f/o which i finished 8th for £652 kk v aa then on the monday night it was the 1st aspers qual for the sky poker tour which is always a good day ie plenty booze and crack.
Binked the seat first attempt weeee as did ridla who came on msn to say wp and we got chatting about a few things when samjs name came up and i said you mean The Titanic he cruises along owning the mtt fields then hits the iceburg and sinks without trace.I did say this half in jest but its amazing what fate brings as samj comes to mine the next day and chops the $11 r on stars 4 handed for $5.2k which i got a good % of weeeee.I have to say samj played awesome poker and i only had to calm him down a couple of times lol.

Live ive only played twice so far this month finished 9th in circus £50 f/o shoved c/off with 12 bigs ran into 99 then didnt cash in aspers £100 f/o.

Horses had a couple of bad days and for some reason decided to do a breeders cup spin up and busted account fookin dickhead so - $800 but ive scraped back $300 so far betting in running if i can get anywhere near even for month will be over the moon.

The titanics coming back to mine tomorrow hoping for a repeat of last week haha

Busy month live starting out with the NPF championships and after finishing 17th and 7th the last 2 years i was hoping for a win but tbh never got going and all the decisions i made were the wrong ones, a big well done to Craig Mcdowall who won and i have to say he has to be 1 of the best mtt players in the toon at the mo wpwp.Also well done to Hazel "happydaze" Birchnall who finished 2nd and was 1 card away from victory its a shame there was a thread started which prolly took the shine off her efforts but all i can say is take no notice and keep grinding the profit wpwp.

Apat team event,had a great weekend at Luton with a great bunch of lads and Mrs Stumpy and was really disappointed we only had 2 left going into the points but to get 2 on the ft is a big acheivement. I eventually finished 8th losing ackc v 1010 aipf had a sweat on cc flop but no help

Well done to George "house shoes"Lawson who finished 5th going out ak v kj sigh ul but wpwp.

Also a big up for the hetton boys who only just missed out on a top 3 finish but were great fun all weekend.

Live- had a deep finish on friday when i finished 3rd for £440 in there £50f/o played great and went into the ft joint cl with jonny who has been crushing this mtt lately with his super aggro game which seems to be paying off at the mo so the plan was to sit tight and watch him knock everyone out lol.The plan was working fine until i butchered 2 hands v him but luckily i dup ak v aq of kenlock when we were down to 3 i shove qhjh and get called off other guy with kj q on the flop but k on the turn was the end of me hopefully these 2 fts are the start of the rungood.

Online - Ran awful this month and also made a few mistakes when very deep in a few but pretty pleased not to lose that much considering how bad Ive ran.

Well I finally sorted out a decent mtt schedule, my morning session is on Pokerstars and I can reg in about 8 mtts ranging from $4 -$33 between 10am and 12 noon and my night time session is on willy hill and I can reg for about 8 between 6pm and 9.10pm buyins between $2r -$33.
I would of liked to add a couple of Stars donkaments on the night schedule but for some reason Stars freezes when I have willy hill running. I need to sort this out and and it will give me the mtts I want, not too big of fields but still a decent payout.
Got off to a flyer as the results below show-

Ran really well,and played well but I still feel I left alot of money behind due to my endgame not been up to scratch. I have worked hard on my online game mainly watching cardrunner vids free through full tilt so Ive decided to splash out and suscribe and watch some endgame vids.

Played 1 session of plo cash won $170

Horses - up $500 had a few decent price winners and with the jumps soon to get back in full swing hopefully carry on winning at betting in running.

Live- continued to run bad getting stacks, then losing the key flips near the final table, until i had a final table on friday £50 f/o 54 runners. 8 left i have 30 bbs when the sb shoves 20bbs with 102 v my aq he hits his 2 and i never really recover and donk off the rest of my chips to finish 8th.Playing well live so just got to run better. -1k ive included spain even tho mrs stumpy bought me in for my birthday.

This month we have the NPF championships followed by the APAT Team champs at Luton which I feel we have a really good chance of winning, hopefully they will put us up at a big price so we can win a few quid of the bookies.

Poker Player Tour Teeside

1st game back after my "experience" in Mallorca. Got back from Mallorca on the Tuesday after my insurance company flew a doctor out from gatwick to escort me back.
He arrived on the Monday and I met him at his hotel and suggested we go for a cup of tea n have a chat. As we were walking to the cafe in the village he was asking me things like " Has HE been resting" ? Has HE been sleeping OK ? Has HE been eating OK ? WTF I thought and said you do realise its me youve came to take home of which his reply was shock as he thought it was my Dad as I LOOKED SO YOUNG weeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!
Did his examination and was happy I was fit to travel the next day and said he would pick me up from the apartment at 8.30 next morning. What you doing tonight I asked him and as he had no plans I suggested he join us in the local pub The Ship for the Monday night quiz. Always a medical question isnt there so thought an intelligent guy like him would be useful for our team. He duly obliged and we also took the quiz down by 1/2 point although the docs contribution was zero, so much so he didnt even know Barbara Knox was Rita Fairclough in Corras!!!

Arrived back safe & sound with front row seats on Sleasy Jet and even had the luxury of being collected at the airport and taken home in an ambulance.

Since Ive been home Ive obviously had lots of advice etc about stuff but at the end of the day its me and me only who really knows how i feel and to be honest I feel great and with the odd tweek here n there with the main things being working a few hours less and having a proper sleep pattern & routine and maybe eating slightly better with touch more exercise then I dont think theres much more I can do. Ill also pick & choose my poker better to make sure Im not up at crazy hours playing b ut that should be the easiest of them all to sort.

Anyway down to Gala Teeside for the Poker Player Tour and in for £12 through their online satellite at my 1st attempt. Not many down from NPF so nice to have some crack with Dan & Mark Trett and get sat next to Jonny Denton from the forum. Always found in these type of games a huge mixture of different types of players but my starting table was pretty tough with everyone very competent and added slowly but steady to my stack through 1st 2 levels. Level 3 saw me double up when my JJ flopped a tasty looking J 10 9 and with oppo commited with his stack on his bet it was all in on that flop with him holding KK which didnt find any of his outs. Always great when you have room to play and was chipping up easy and very active to always be well above average but you know whats round the corner and they soon came. I lost QQ v KK JJ v AJ ( rvr A ) 99 v 66 to take me back to my starting stack at the dinner break instead of being possibly chip leader with that bit of luck you need.
1st hand back from the break I make the nut flush over 2nd nut flush to dup and get my stack moving again in right direction until table break and some bad levels with very little happening.
3 tables left I dup but in this tournie & structure its very much shove poker with the average stack hardly ever above 10 bbs.
Into the cash with 14 left but have less than 10 bbs and when 13 left the TD makes a very strange decision. He asks me to move to the other table despite there being no need to move me.
2nd orbit on that table with all the big stacks there Im basically commited to shove atc and when I shove K3 blind on blind the BB calls with Q9 and despite me hitting my K he hits runner runner for the bot end straight to take me out in 13th for £220.
Enjoyed the game tbh and just needed to run that bit better in some vital hands to of had a very good chance of taking it down as was always comfy throughout the tournie.

Next game for me is this weekend with the NPF Championship at Circus Casino and then 2 weeks later will be travelling down to Luton for the APAT UK Team Event which is something I would so like to win for the NPF being so close twice before to taking it down.

What a fright!!!

Had 6 relaxing days on holiday relaxng round the pool thro the day and having a nice meal with a few drinks in the evening with Teamdobb and his wife Sandra then on the Friday me and Dave head off to play in the majorcan open 660 euro buyin which Mrs Stumpy bought me for my birthday and xmas present it was a really nice casino and the tourney was well run a couple of decent players on my 1st table but some really easy spots to get chips.
Started off ok then lost 3 times with jacks and then played 2 hands really bad and was down to 8k from 15k ss.Got moved tables just after Teamdobb got knocked out and shoved over a limper twice with a9 and then aj then shoved over bttn raise with a8 back up to 15k when i get 1010 raise 1 caller and see the flop of j104 r i bet tiny and he shoves with aj and im upto 30kish about average with about 25 left from the 70 runners,we are playing down to 20 runners to go to day2 then I lose with 66 after tabe donk calls my cbet with nothing and he hits his ace on the turn, then I raise with a10 and get reshipped i fold and he shows me ak, we are down to 21 players and i raise with 33 just then we lose a player and its the last hand of the night the bb goes allin I fold and he shows me QQ.
So got through to day 2 but with only 10bbs.We head back to the hotel its about 3.30am when we get back and ive only been asleep about 5 mins when Sandra wakes us up telling us Teamdobb is ill and is in the hotel lobby with the doctor.When we get there Daves been seen by the ambulance crew and they tell us hes had a heart attack hes rushed to hospital and straight into the theatre so me Mrs Stumpy and Sandra have a long worrying wait until about 9am when we get to see him in intensive care and im amazed and relieved to see him sitting up and quite chatty phew.

When we left him on Monday night he was in great form and just wanted to get home.See you when you get back take care.

I went back and played day 2 of the majorcan open 40 players left out of field of 130 got a shove through with a3 then im mid pos and looked at ace 2 when there was a big hand at other table and most of my table goes to look only the blinds are left so i shove again but small blind has aq and im out in 36th place.

Online ive had alot final tables and a lot of other deep runs, playing and running well just hope to have a few more before the end of the month to post a nice profit.

Live still running shit, no final tables this month so far got a change soon i hope.

Mallorca big shock!!!

Mallorca Shock

Took off to Mallorca with Sandra & Mr & Mrs Stumpy with one main intention of having a relaxing carefree chill out break.

Flight was spot on and slept most of way but faced over an hours wait in a queue to collect our car. Arrive at the hotel in Portal Nous village weve stayed at many times get booked into our rooms without a hitch.

Ist part of break goes totally as planned with days by the pool and nights enjoyed at some of the great restaurants in Portals.

Break takes a total tangent I didn’t expect when on the 16^th September myself and Stumpy reg for the Mallorcan Poker Open Day 1A with 20 players from Day1A field going to the final day on Sunday 18^th September. Tournie was pretty uneventful for me on a very straight forward table even though Id chipped up 1000 in 1^st 2 levels. I then found AKcc in my BB and in a 5 way limped pot I make it 800 at 75/150 for mid position limper to jam for his stack of 6300. I make the call and he flips 44. Q 10 8 flop followed by Q turn giving me any J 10 8 A or K to win the pot but I blank it and my stack is seriously injured. Not as much as what was to follow later that evening which at the time I had absolutely no idea about.

I flop the world in another couple of hands but Im now on serious double up duty and looking for my right spot or hand to get it.

I then had my 1^st signs things weren’t right with me when I began to get pains in my chest like heartburn and I was sweating heavily. I put it down to the heat of the room to be honest and made sure I took in plenty of water which did seem to do the trick but when I went out shoving Ace 10 ( 7 bbs ) into KQ that hit the turn I took a break outside to get some fresh air.

Pains had eased but I simply did not feel right but was hanging around railing Stumpy who made it through till the end of the day in true Dobba grind with very few hands to mention.

Drove back to hotel and half way back I was sweating up but nothing too serious.

Parked up at the car park and made my way to my room being about 4.00am but that’s when thing s took a big turn for the worse. Walking to my room along the corridor the pains were hrrific eft arm began to go weak and numb. My aim was to get into bed and relax and hope the pain would ease BUT I knew this was not right and after about 30mins and the pains getting worse I had to wake Sandra and tell her something was seriously wrong here with me. She tried to get me to lie back down and relax in bed but I knew then I needed urgent medical treatment and threw on some shorts and a Tee shirt and made my way back down to reception. Guy there must of thought I was a tourist drunk as when I asked him to get me a doctor his reaction at 1^st was go back to your room Sir and Ill get the doctor to ring you. He soon realised I was in trouble and I lay down on the settees in the reception area. A few minutes later the doctor arrived and after a few basic checks he rang the local hospital and requested an ambulance. Those 5 / 10 mins of waiting for that ambulance to arrive seemed a lifetime with the pain building up in my chest and breathing was getter more shallow by the minute. Eventually they arrived and carried out an ECG on me which immediately showed a blockage in my main artery to my heart and they rushed me to the local clinic.

Doctor guy in ambulance was brilliant to be honest and explained everything that was going to happen which would be immediately. Must have been after 5.00am when we got to the hospital and the place was brand new and very high tech place.

I was rushed into the operating theatre, stripped naked and then a team of doctors & nurses appeared and began scrubbing up and preparing me for what needed doing. Main doctor spoke very broken English but did his utmost best to explain what was going to happen. Basically my main artery to my heart was blocked and they were going to insert a tube up through the artery in my arm across to the heart and then insert a stent in the artery to open it up. Basically like a balloon which they then inflate which allows the blood to renew its natural flow. Worst part of the whole episode was when they inflated the stent and I began shaking and shivering which I couldn’t control. One of weirdest feelings Ive had in life and not something I would like to repeat again.

I then spent the next 3 days on intensive care and the treatment and service of care was simply amazing in a truly amazing hospital of the highest standards. I was then transferred from IC to a cardiac ward but a private room once again with all mod cons.

Pretty scarey stuff not only for me but I assume also for my wife Sandra and Mr & Mrs Stumpy who have been absolutely brilliant keeping Mrs C as calm as she could be. Expect to be discharged from hospital after 5 or 6 days on this ward so probably Friday 23^rd September but due to some health care law due to what has happened I am unable to fly for 21 days from when the incident happened. Got an apartment sorted out in Portals Nous village from some people we know which I can stay at

Sometimes you take a lot of stuff for granted but until something like this rears its head you never really appreciate how important life is and also what an incredible machine your body is. Lots to think over now about what to do in the near future and have no doubt Ill be giving a lot of important stuff my utmost attention.

Havnt read anything yet as Ive been without any internet but my son Scott has told me Ive been inundated with get well wishes which means a lot, so thanks all for that.

That’s it for now as I begin my recovery here with my feet up and hopefully the sun stays shining for the next couple of weeks. Hopefully see you all soon and Ill keep you all as best informed as I can as soon as I get some internet access when I get discharged.

p.s. must of watched and seen every goal in La Liga scored for the last 2 weeks 10 times each!!!!

edit: released 22nd September around 4.00 and finished 3rd of 5 in 18 holes at Fantasy Golf in Palma Nova which is the greatest crazy golf course in the world. From what nI understand now the 21 day flying rule we were told is total bollocks and Im waiting for a telephone call from my insurance company after they have spoke in detail with the doctor to let me know when I can fly home. Tbh I expect it to be possibly Monday,

Live i had no final tables in august which tbh i dont think has happened before ran deep in alot but got coolered or lost the key races.

Online started well on willy hill had a 4th in nlh superseries event for £370 and next night 8th for $80 then 2 losing sessions so ended the month £87 up ( super series result not shown on sharky )

MTTS on stars played 103 and down $769

SNGOS on stars played 163 and down $186 ran like shit so pleased to lose as little

Luckily my son craig finished 4th in a $10 turbo for $1369 which i got the lions share of, which saved the month. This seems to be the running theme this year, if i have a bad month i get saved by stakee weeeeeeeee.

Hopefully september the luck will turn and i can have a good month. On my hols now for 3 weeks so hopefully can have some nice wins.Going to majorca on sunday with mr and mrs teamdobb a week of eating drinking and sunbathing ended off by playing in the majorca open which dave played last year and said it was a great tourney so really looking forward to it.

My last day at work we had some problems with the train, we were waiting for another train to come in when this man comes upto me and says whats the problem so i told him the windscreen wiper fell off and the next train wont be long, he says thats the worst excuse hes ever heard.I said really what about leaves on the line or wrong type of snow surely those are worse?The look on his face was priceless.

After full tilt closure Im at a bit of a loss of how to carry on. Ive been playing stars mtts but the fields are huge and you could go for months without a decent bink so Ive been playing some sitngos to hopefully pay for my mtts with mixed results so far but hopefully even out at a +2 per sngo profit.Had quite a few sessions of plo 50-1 cash 6 max and made about 700 so far did a little bit of reading up and tweaked a few things in my game not sure if this has helped or just ran good but will prolly find out in the next month. Next blog will prolly start with online cash never again blah blah.

MTTS - Looks like I might retry ipoker it seems to be the only site I can have about 10 decent payout mtts on the go in a session apart from stars I just dont like the software.

SNGOS - After Gaz won me enough to pay for my hols this year I stopped grinding them but I think im going to try and play a 100 a week to keep my roll ticking over will do this on stars.

PLO CASH - Going to carry on and play these when I havent got time for sngo sessions and hopefully keep improving and winning !

HORSES -Well after saying i was giving up until jumps started again, i seen a horse win at york and marked it down as a potential group horse then i see its in the big sprint handicap off top weight so put a 100 e/w on it and it romped home at 8-1 its called hoofit and i think it might be running at york next week in the big sprint race upped in class but i still think its improving and might lump on again.So sorry Soaps you are still the worst sports betting blogger lol.

Good news finally booked our hols going to Majorca for 9 nights on the 11th of September with Teamdobb and Sandra, 5 nights sunbathing eating and drinking and the rest of the hols hopefully grinding out a ft in the Majorcan open which is part of the Spanish Poker tour weeeee cant wait.

Mrs Stumpy and I headed off to Sheffield on thursday 7th july by train sleep half the way and arrive at the copthorne hotel £50 a night deffo recomend it only 10 mins walk to the g casino.

Thursday 7th july £200 f/o 43 runners -Run ok and pick off a few shorty shoves and get to day 2 with 13 bbs 11 left 6 pay.Mrs stumpy won the high hand for this mtt with quad 9s and got a seat in the champion of champion online 15k freeroll with only 33 runners which takes place on 19th of july.

Friday 8th july £200 f/o day 2 -Get to ft and i shove 12bbs with 88 snapped by qq gg me

Friday night we meet up with Teamdobb and his wife Sandra and have a night off poker and head for the dogs had a lovely meal and a few drinks but the betting didnt go well until i get a tricast up the last few tricasts had payed £100 +.this one payed £35 i run so bad lol

Saturday 9th july £500 f/o 44 runners

Win a cuople of small pots until button raises i call with 33 flop a93 i ch call turn is ace and i ch raise button tank calls now im hoping to get the full double up until the river is a 9 ffs ch fold down to 5k.About 5 hands later 2 limpers im sb and make it 400 blinds 50-100 both call flop k 10 7 r i bet 600 1 caller turn 9 i bet 1600 knowing im putting rest in on river.River is an 8 im allin and he calls and tables 96 sigh.Play a bit of cash and start getting the coronas in while we wait for Teamdobb he was going well till he lost called with 88 from his BB to button K7 shove and dealer puts K7 on flop and he hit the rail abit later so we jump in a taxi and head off for something to eat. The taxi driver drops us off at a nice italians which turned out to be excellent choice as it had a great atmoshere. lovely food and excellent company with Dave and Sandra.After getting thro 3 courses 2 bottles of wine Teamdobb decides we need to walk back to the hotel good idea so we set off until we come to one of those horrible subways you see in the movies halfway through about 5 young punks rob you at knifepoint, Sandra wasnt to keen but we persuaded her we would be ok halfway thro i couldnt resist letting rip with one of my eeirie bird crys jesus wept Mrs C nearly took off was soso funny even Kaz nearly had heart attack and she new I was going to do it sorry Sandra.

Sunday 10th july £100 f/o with £25 bounty 104 runners 11 pay

Totally card dead with very little spots so sat patient until i get aa v aq v qq aipf then i raise with kk bb calls flop 679 we get it allin and he has j8 and bricks down to 2 tables and im bb with j2 and we get a limpfest flop j72 r and i ch raise allin and get called off aj and hold weee my 1st bounty £25 we eventullay get down to 11 but the blinds and antes are huge so decide to push any unopened pot and if i get 3 allins thro i will be in a goodposition on ft 1st push im snapped by 1010 and i have q10 and im out sigh that plan went well lol im out in 11th for £160 +£25 bounty.

Next morning we get phone call from reception at 11.40 you have to be out by noon ah shit flying round getting ready i look at my phone and get message off samj junior, bomba has won you $4.5k weeeee so i say to mrs s nice 1 $2.2k for us but then get message of cameltoe hes won 9k so its 4.5k to me well played bomba.

I staked bomba to play 180s 50/50 but he soon realised he couldnt make enough in the 6 week period so he asked if he could use it for mtts i said no probs go for it,normally mtts is 60/40 or 70/30 in my favour but deffo not complaining with my 4k profit and a nice way to end a great weekend.

After having 4 online fts this month it should of been a good month but after running bad on the fts I had a 4th,8th,6th and 9th I then decide to have another cash blowout and piss most of my mtt winnings away. ontop of that I decide to bet on the flat betting prerace which is impossible to win at and i blow my roll luckily I had withdrew alot of the winnings so im not reloading until the jumps starts again.

Fulltilt closing is a complete disaster as this year i have worked hard on my mtt game and I felt I had a great chance to ft every session I played and its hard switching sites, but got off to a good start on 888.com ft in my 1st session but only lasted 1 hand jj into aa for a small cash played few more times and it feels just as soft as fulltilt so hopefully have a good 1st month on 888.com Got about $1500 on fulltilt so hopefully it will be back up and running soon.

Live I only played 4mtts ukipt m/e and the charity game 1 small cash but this was covered by Samjs win the week before when I staked him into the circus game so about even for the month

Im off to sheffield this Thursday for the GUKPT Summer Series Im going to play the £200 side event on Thursday probably have the Friday night off then play the m/e on the Saturday which I won a seat into.

Havent played much poker this month due to work and my cousins wedding, the friday before the wedding samj comes on msn for staking for the £55 5kg circus game i was having a few coronas with my nephew so i say why not have a sweat emm he lasts 4 hands sigh he asks if he can buy back in so i ask my nephew rob and he says go for it so he buys back in and 5mins later sam says ive lost half me stack so i say if you win you can use part of winnings to buy into ukipt. wake up the next morning with a text off sam won £1350 weeeeee.So im freerolling the ukipt with percentages in

samj 50% - he had bigstack but lost 200k flip on day2 ak v qq then rebuilt and then lost qq v 88 vul samj one day soon.

dapperdan 10% made day 2 but no cash.

juniorbomba-10%out early doors never got going

fatfish-10% had a great run but went out 25th for £1525

cameltoe-25% went out day2

Really thought i had a great chance of a ft from one of my players or from myself but my ukipt started bad and never really improved first hand i played 9d10d flop 8jq i bet straight into it 1 caller turn blank bet near pot he calls rvr makes flush possible so i ch call and yup he has flush.From then on went between 10k and 15k chips but just couldnt get the dup i needed ended day 1 with 7,3k 2nd day i shipped ak,jj no callers then reshipped bttn rase with a6 he folds then ship a9 still cant get the dup until cl on table raises from utg+1 and i ship aq he calls with 85 flop kjx 8 8 and i was out never ever got going in this tourney was going to play £300 game but after having a chinese with mrs stumpy couldnt be arsed so went home and fired up a few mtts on tilt finished 27th in $24kg and 4th in the 6kg for over $600 combined.Went back the sunday night to play the £100 charity game and after cracking aces with 99 i lost 88 to 77 aipf for what would of been a nice stack with about 30 players left.wp to all the npfers who cashed in ukipt but really disapointed we had no one on the ft.

NPF Re-opens.......... with restrictions!!!

Well a full month to the day but at 7.00pm on Thursday 9th June the NPF will be officially re-opened to existing members only. As in alot of situations, rumours and speculation spread very easy and often facts are mis understood or exagerrated and that has certainly been the case since we took the decision to close the NPF. Many people have asked me if this n that are true and theyve heard this n that etc etc. Ive been very open and honest about things and have gave totally 100% honest answers to those people that asked me questions I was able to answer. Some I was unable to answer as I either didnt know the answer or the decision, or the question they put to me was being directed at the wrong person. In the majority of most of the questions only ONE person knew the answer and that would have been my son Scott who as explained previously was the only person who would decide whether we re open or stay closed.

Why have we re opened?........ simples really. The large majority and hard core of the community we created wanted it. We received pm after pm when we closed thanking us for what we had created, what we had done for the local scene but also alot of sadness at how the NPF had apparently ended and how much it would be missed. Like I said above only one person could re open the NPF and eventually after alot of careful thought and consideration he decided he would re open with certain restrictions in place for the time being. Those restrictions basically mean that the NPF will be a private community for the time being with the forum sections n threads only being accesible to existing NPF members. For the initial part of the re opening NO new members will be allowed to join until the new moderators have had a little bit of time to see how it goes.
A group of well respected and hard core members have been offered the chance of moderating the NPF in an attempt to give a more open and non biased over view of daily activity and goings on. This will take away alot of personal involvement for myself and Scott and relieve us of alot of sometimes difficult decisons we faced on a daily basis from certain sections. At least now the moderators that have been appointed can decide between them any actions that need to be taken for the good and well being of the community and hopefully the forum will as such return to the once happy and crazy banter full place it used to be.
All members that were offered a moderator post all received the same PM from Scott fully explaining alot of reasons why we closed and his thoughts on why he finally decided to re open which Im sure they will appreciate and also fully understand.

To those that maybe didnt like certain aspects of how we ran the NPF or the new direction we hope to take well at least they now have an alternative platform to stand on and can have no excuse of the NPF now being labelled some of the things they clearly thought we were. People now have a choice and the best of both worlds so lets move on and try and get some enjoyment back. We do what we do for free with the aim of bringing information and hopefully enjoyment from the services we offer. Not much you get in the world for free so please continue to enjoy the NPF and take from it what you choose. Its free!!!! n costs you sweet FA so please respect what the people there do and enjoy the bits you want to and ignore the bits you dont want.

Another week has past without the NPF being live and guess what........... the world doesnt stop as we wait for Scott to re open it to the many people who are requesting it be done. Being asked by alot of people when Im out whats happening and thats why I post here the facts that I know. All I know is the NPF will be re opened as a "private" poker community for the NPF members but as yet I have no idea as to any restrictions or guidleines to what that will consist of. The other info I have been told is that some new moderators will be appointed to take care of things and to give a more balanced and impartial view of any disagreements but because of the "private" set up being put in place then alot of the spam and crap we faced on a daily basis will disappear and also far less arguments and personal disagreements should not take place as much thus making the new NPF a far happier place. Also with the launch of another local forum then Im sure everybody should find a happy medium as to what they want and to what they wish to read. If ya dont like it then dont read it,,,,,,,,, simples. Trouble is though poker in general is so fkn boring that people simply love the controvery and bickering and bitching and thats a fact. the most interesting n viewed threads are where people are arguing looooooool. Happy days

Poker wise well not bad at all. Take in the new Circus Friday £50 game with £5 gtd pot and it attracts a decent 1st night field of just over 80 runners but also wanna have a few beers so the poker is secondary tbh and have a really good night eventually busting out with 20 odd left when blind on blind I ask the table rock not to limp from his sb which he kindly does so I shove my last 12bbs in with 63 off to be snapped off by him holding AJ. AJ flop sends me to the 50/£1 cash table where I sit bored out my head picking up total crap on a very spewy table unable to take advantage of alot of loose money. Leave only about £20 lighter but having had a canny night out.

Tuesday and its back to Circus for their 2nd offering of their monthly £100 & £10k Guaranteed game with £2k ADDED to the pot. Place is very busy and a final field of 136 runners giving £4520 for the winner and paying 14. Get an interesting 1st table which included Junior Bomber from the Sensations, UKIPT winner Gaz Walker and Jack Ellwoods twin brother who has a good track record to his name. Overall the whole field was very strong and a credit to the awareness that the Circus pokeroom staff have of putting on the games that players want. Simple fact is they understand their customers and the local market. Saying local but this game even attracted the normal large group of Teeside regulars but also a large group who had travelled down from Scotland.
Had decided early doors how I was going to play and approach this game and tbh it didnt change much throughout the tournie. Later stages of this game become very much shove poker and that never changes much so no real panic to have massive chip stack as very few players have more than 8-10 bbs at final table. Final table actually only had 2 players above 10 bbs.
Only get my cards in behind three times throughout the tournie. 1st time I shove getting low in unopened pot with 7h8h to be called by Gaz Walker with 55 and I hit 7 flop & turn. Next time is holding Q10 on my BB to be shoved on by a low stacked Rocky Gupta from Teeside. Decide to make the call as hes shoving so light the position he was in and he flips A4. I flop my Q and pretty much cruise to final table after that picking up a few good spots to shove steal from players despo to make cash.
Final table proved interesting and a bit unlucky for me in some respects. With 2 very low stacks on the table I fold 2 decent sized Ace hands to shoves of mid pairs which I would normally snap call but didnt really want to go out 10th or 9th as money went up quite good from 7th up. I then get AA in my BB and cant believe it when its all folded to me and next lap one lad gets tripled up with AA on his BB. I eventually shove Ace 10 to be snap called by 99 with same stack and I miss the world. Guy who takes me out eventually goes on to win the event after travelling down from Glasgow. Not bad anyway with £940 return and 10% each to Stumpy & Cameltoe who once again ran shit at a crucial stage going out to a river case King just short of the money.

Last week & the future

Over a week now since we closed the NPF and thanks to all the messages that have been left here but also to the absolutely amazing Private Messages Ive had in my message box at NPF. Never really realised how the closure has effected so many true and genuine people. Most amazing was the 5 pms I had from people who were not prolific posting members on there but also people I have never ever even met before and the lovely things they said were very mcuh appreciated. Always nice to know your efforts and things you have done have helped and been appreciated by others.
Theres obviously the other side to this where some people have put some rather derogative comments and some have been a total surprise to me as theve always been really nice to me face to face and yet now wish to say hurtful and in most cases incorrect facts of how they saw things or how they perceived things to be. Such is life and tbh Im not that fussed as I know the efforts we put in there and I also know the true genuine people are the ones that count to me. Fake people are 2 a penny and change like the wind and have no chance of effecting or interupting my life now or in the future.

As to the future? Well to be honest myself and Scott have had alot of pressure from others to re open the NPF but on that decision its totally in Scotts ballpark and his decision alone. Whether that will happen is totally up to him and what he wants to do. Couple of members from the NPF have opened a poker forum to try and continue where we left off which is understandable and its already attracted a large part of the NPF membership so good luck to them on that. A small section have indicated everything that was wrong with the NPF so its now a great opportunity for them to prove those facts right at their new home. Only time will tell on that but Im my opinion theres only so much hand discussion and strategy you can handle as in reality Pokers a pretty simple basic game which others love to make complicated. Fun & enjoyment are 2 crucial parts of poker that many continue to forget and without that then people lose interest. Others have indicated they will or could have done or helped in stuff we did, well now is their big opportunity to put this to the test and see what they can give back to the local poker scene

Personally since the closure of the NPF Ive actually felt great and am now looking forward to my 6th visit to Las Vegas and my 5th WSOP. Locally I played at the G Poker Festival on Wednesday in their £75 Freeze out with 2 added main event seats. Throughlly enjoyed the game and the crack and was great to see 2 old mates there in Azimut and Ned Pepper making the trip down from Hexham.
Made steady progress with my stack and won 3 or 4 flips to then move into a good position to final table. Make final table reasonably stacked and move into proppa dobba mode for the 1st part of the final table which pays off. Few go out and with only 7 getting paid my aim was that top 3 spot where the decent cash was plus also top 2 won main event seats for that weekend which were worth £220 each. Lose Stumpy in 7th place on the cash bubble and then its basically shove mode in position which I get through alot. Couple of times Im looked up and Ive got the goods and down to 4 handed I try to do a % swop deal for the main event seats that 2 of us are going to win but Apokerlypse comes up with the much better idea of leaving the prize money as it is but to give the seats to 3rd & 4th place which evened up the monies left much easier and myself Mags1892 and Nemisis quickly agree as we are all on very similar stacks. Nemisis goes out in 4th place and then I shove with JJ on mags raise and he makes the call with AQ and gets there giving me £620.00 plus a £200 seat for the weekend.

Main event and Im very happy with my table and get off to a good start and soon get chipped up which always makes things easier. Flop 2 pair with 8 10 and table maniac donates me his full stack when he makes his bottom end straight to my rivered full house and then a non believer jams my re raise on a Jack high board holding JK and my KK takes him out. I get up to over 70k with the average around 20k when I pick up AA and face a raise in front plus a call. I put a big raise in to keep the 2 callers and we go to a K 10 rag flop. Caller leads out for over 3k and I make it 10k for original raiser to ship all in which i call. He flips Kq and the 45k pot looks destined to take me up around the 100k mark until Adam the dealer puts down the case K on the river. Re group and get my stack back going in the right direction and sitting on over 60k with 2 hands left of the night. I raise mid position KQ with alot of tight players to cat behind so am confident of taking pot with no action but Dave heathfield calls nervously from the sb. Ace flop and he cks back to me and I cb for him to flat call. Should really close down here as dave is very likely to have a decent Ace the way he plays but I end up bluffing and end up 23k lighter when he flips over AdKd on the river.
Come back day 2 with just over 38k and once again chip up steady on a very ABC table tbh. Nearing the cash bubble and looking to stay active and after previously shoving over a few raises I shove agin to a button raiser with my AK and he tank calls his stack with 88. Im happy enough and pot will put me in good shape to go to final table with but I miss and go out just short of some cash. Had swopped 10% in stumpy and he went on to finish 3rd for nearly £3k so not a bad week all in all with just short of £1k in returns.
Really felt for Dave "Cameltoe" Atkinson who was so so ul losing QQ to AQ for big pot at crucial time and then busting with AA to QQ and AQ which cudnt hold as AQ made runner runner for straight.
Rest of night I had a "few" drinks with Stunpy & Gazmeister and then a meal in the restaurant and we cudnt stoop laffing at winding some of the G staff in the very nicest of way which they throughly enjoyed as well and took in the best of humour it was meant to be. having a laugh with good people whilst playing poker........... cant beat it

After finally getting my internet sorted I realised it was my laptop that was the problem doh, so after pinching mrs Stumpys laptop I fire up a few mtts on tilt and ship the $10 547 runner for $2,110.10, then the next day I finished 4th in the $10 superstack 1128 runners for $919.60 a bit gutted with the 4th as I deffo made a mistake with 4 left, button raised and I 3 bet when I should just shipped allin, he still might of called but at least I would of played the hand right.The trouble is ive hardly played since then because of work and playing live in the Gs mini festival where I finished 7th in the £75 game, the bubble ffs! had a small saver with teamdobb who came back to form with a 3rd place nice one Dave,didnt play the next night so sent in my sub Samj to play the £100 game but no return from Sam sigh.

The main event was a £200 link game with sheffield with the g adding 4k wow, it ended off with about 90 runners and after day 1 five came up from sheffield to join the 20 left in newcastle.

My 1st table had Jon Lundy on who totally dominated the table and it was so much fun to watch him bamboozle a few on the table upto the point where this fish/novice open shoved with aj for 5.5k when blinds were 100 -200 I was in the big blind with ak and hold to get back to above the ss of 15k which was a releif as I had butchered a couple of hands.Then I win a couple of small pots off Jon when I called with 2nd pair on the flop and he gave up, then i called with A high on the flop and he gave up again he wouldnt of got me off 2nd pair but the ace high I might of folded.Then i go on a great run of cards

FT was abit frustrating got off to good start when I flat raise with 1010 on button flop a22 chch turn 7 bet call river 4 he bets 3/4 pot and I call he tables 33.After this just maintain stack then when 4 left my raises get shipped on until3 left and im ss with 13 bbs I ship with 9d10d Hugh Frew calls with aj flop a 9 turn a 8 but river puts straight on the board for a chop very next hand ship with aq this time Hugh has ac4c flop 4q10 2 clubs and the club on the turn and I bite the dust in 3rd place for £2.9k.A quick mention to Dave Atkinson who lost qq v aq then aa v aq v qq to go out in about 15th also Teamdobb who lost ak v 88 in 12th wp ul.
Went for a meal with Gaz Robinson and Teamdobb it was a great laugh as we had been drinking since 4 and then Gaz and I went to Aspers for a drunken cash game finally got home at 7am.

Monday 9th May at approx 17.00 and myself and my son Scott make the decision to close down the Newcastle Poker Forum. Sad day for local poker and the local community we grew and developed but tbh not a very difficult decision for us to make. The forum had in our opinion went in a different direction to what we wanted and was becoming a total pain in the arse to run due to certain factors & elements. Dont get me wrong in that we achieved so much in the 3 years it has been running with the biggest main thing being the huge circle of friendships we created from all different types of people which also brought together friendships that may never have materialised without the NPF. We created unique games in an atmosphere we wanted poker to be played and added what we believed was how poker games should be played by seeing smiling faces and a social event based around a stupid game of cards we love to try and conquer. We also gave the local community a strong platform to vent their opinions which eventually moved casinos to sit up and listen and offer some of the best value games ever seen in the area and probaly some of the best value games anywhere in the UK coupled with giving them a large captive customer audience to freely market their games and services all free of charge

Why did we close it down ? Simple really in that we stopped enjoying doing it and it was beginning to effect our business, our personal and our family/home life. As such time to move on and I hope all those involved each took something positive away from the NPF and everything we did and Im sure alot of players locally are much better off for it
I d like to thank so many people as theres so many great people at the NPF but a few especially I would like to mention are as follows:

Scott my son for his foresight to see the need for the NPF and his dedication and hard work he put into it which most wont even be able to understand the amount involved.

Phil McNally who in the early days of the forum was a real driving force and took the forum in the direction we wanted as he was one of the very few people that fully understood our purpose and reasons for creating it

Mr Entertainment Craig Foggo who was always the life & soul of any party and always there for anything we asked for and someone I became very close friends with.

Stumpy who I got to know properly at the Caribbean Poker Cruise which then developed into a very strong friendship afters playing against him many times but not knowing him at all and someone I brought into the Dobbas to such great success

Looseman my accountant who contributed so much at the NPF and then developed a great squad of real true genuine people in the Radgies which included such huge characters like Koyte, Apokerlypse, and Smoggie who then devloped the very succesful Smoggie Online League on poker stars on Wednesdays

Dreamdobb who works for me and simply carried on his enthusiasm from when he played football for me into playing poker. Some great moments of daftness never to be forgotten there

To the many of the younger element who have been on msn to me and said their thanks Id like to say it was very much appreciated and know at least some actually do realise how much the NPF taught them about not just poker but about genuine people and true friends.

Last but not least has to be The Cardguard Kid who became a very good friend of mine but who simply gave his lot to the NPF and made me enjoy so much of what we did together because it was always fun and enjoyable to do. Myself & Scott take our hats off to you Steve Wills especially

Well after cashing in 3 out of 4 fridays at the g i was in 2nd place for the player of the month and i was hoping to play all week to give myself the best chance to win.Well failed to get at all until the friday which was my last chance, nowt like putting the pressure on.Cant really remember much about friday so to cut it short i got to ft and i need to finish 5th or better to win player of the month, £550 seat to sheffield gukpt summer series with travel and accomadation so nice little prize we get down to 6 players and i suggest a 6 way chop for £510 each i took £500 im so kind lol which everyone is happy with booooooom king of the chops.

Had a really good 1st table with everyone knocking the drinks back and enjoying the crack i built my stack upto a very healthy 22k at the 1st dinner break av 11k. hit trip 5s v ak on a a10 5 flop and got it aiotf then iso raised with 1010 v aj and held.Then i raised the buttn with a8 bb 3 bet small so i flatted and see a flop of q85 bb chs i ch turn 7 and bb goes allin for 5k thought it was either nuts or air so made the call and he tables ak and i hold.After the break i lost a couple of decent pots when i hit top 2 with aq on the turn unluckily this gave brett angel the flush i just ch called the rvr.This knocked me down to 18k which i stayed at for what seemed like an age until there was 33 left and play was finishing for the day once we got down to 30 players i get 2 shoves through and im on 22k when i pick up qq and raise get shipped on by kq, k on the flop and i hit the rail in 32nd place scoring some valuable points for the team.Went back on the sunday to cheer on gazmeister,cowhead,xenocode and cogb ship 1st place for the dobbers had a really good day drinking and watching the poker.Well done to cowhead who finished 4th and cogb who finished 2nd wpwp.

Had a good run in the gs friday night game this month played it 4 times so far and cashed in 3, 6th for £170 then did a 5 way chop for £560 then last friday won it for £790 we did a deal 5 left where we closed up the prize money. At the moment in sitting in 2nd for the player of the month and the prize is a £500 gukpt seat so im going to try and play as many times as i can this week to see if i can win the seat. samj is currently about £50 ahead of me so its all to play for.

online my volume and play has been pretty shit as i havent felt great. I think I had sinisitus and also my internet connection as been playing up but all excuses really just need to get my head down and grind tbh.

Played the apat game at aspers after bluffing half me stack off i went out with this hand. Villain raises im bb and call with as3s flop is 633 i ch raise his 500 cbet to 1100 he flats turn is ace i ch and he jams with 86 ob i call and the river is a 6 ffs.
Play a bit cash on same table as juniorbomba and it was so soft, ob we both lose a little when the donks keep getting there but we had a good laugh.Then i walk down to the g to meet mrs stumpy whos just finished work to play in the £10 rebuy chip up pretty easily until i lose kk v 77 aipf for 28k when av 11k then i lose jj v k10 rebuild back upto 11k until 2 limpers blinds 400-800 i ship with 99 and they both call with a3 and kj wtf ob never winning that ship my last 2k with a8 and lose to a 10.

Hit the cash table which is always fun at the g lost a couple of pots and was about £50 down when this happened ive been suprised by some of the replys at the NPF see what you think.

Samj has started to show some profit after a few sessions at my house, i watched him play 2 small losing sessions and tried to give him a few tips but he was a bit sceptical so i said step aside and i will play 12 and if i dont cash in 6 from 12 i will run round the garden stark naked about 2hrs later ive cashed in 8 from 12 and im running round the house shouting whos the daddy, with clothes still on tho lol.He took the tips onboard and i have watched his sessions since then and he has played so well with very few mistakes all he has to do now is put the volume in and he can make a nice little wage.

In need of some motivation

Well after a nice end to last month it was enevatible that stars was gonna flick my doomswitch and they didnt dissapoint. Started the month with 7 losing days out of 8 played so when the UKIPT Manchester arrived it was a pleasant break from the virtual.

Was really looking forward to ths game and after 3 days hard slog i was rewarded with 26th place and a nice return of £1450 , which was cool as i sattelited in for £6.20 (happy days).
Obviously happy with my return but still dissapionted i didnt go further as i felt so comfortable and felt i was playing pretty good , with about 30 players left i had 275k in chips and the average was about 310K so was right in there with a chance but a run of really bad cards , then getting 3 bet twice after blind steal raises and having to fold meant i couldn,t really afford to waste many chips.
Unfortunately i then called a shorty,s all in and got rivered losing 100k pot and the rest was history when i exit with good old AJvKK in an unorthadox played hand by my opponents. Great experiance these events , unfortunately dont think i can play any more this year.

So i get back home and notice stars have a reload bonus, so decide to deposit $600 and grind the 25% bonus. I grind away and soon i have made back my losses and actually finish the month just over $600 in profit, but although im winning i just cant get into the games , in fact the only reason im playing is because i want to grind the bonus.
I didnt even play enough games to make goldstar which i have not done before other than when i have been away on holiday and havn,t played, and with only 1 live game played i really need some motivation to get me interested in playing .

Feels strange especially when im making money, but im in need of some sort of challenge, something to get my teeth into, get interested in, so anybody reading this can forward all ideas my way please as im a little lost at what to try.

Anyway overall another good month money wise , just hope April brings new motivation, may play a few more live games . good luck at the tables.

As I touched on in my last post I won the 8.5kg on full tilt for $2,291,I got the little bit of run good just b4 the ft when I reshipped a button raise with 88 only to be called by jj a nice 8 on the flop and I went to the ft with a canny stack.On the ft I was raisng every chance I got only for the cl to 3 bet me constantly so I decided to gamble and keep raising hoping to pick up a hand which did eventually happen after I had lost 200k in chips lol.Raised again this time with aces and the chipleader overshoves with a9 and I dup to the near cl and from there I get to hup v the cl who had kept 3 betting me and totally owned him headsup.Like to thank all the NPF who were on the rail, some of the crack was so funny and makes the win more enjoyable.

Live this month so far played 7 times and had 4 cashes including doing a 2 way chop with Rosi in the £50 f/o at circus had a great first table with a very aggro lady who when raised c bet 100% then kept barreling with or without a hand so when she raised I just flatted with ak and the flop was ak3 and she shoved allin I called and she tables kq wow ty.I chip up nicely from there until she gets moved to my tableafter rebuying back in, mmmm she raises from a 16k stack and I flat with 44 flop j74 and she bets flop I flat turn is a 10 and she asks me how much I have left 10.6k and she bets 10.6k weeeeee she tables kk and bricks the river and im upto 30kish, we get down to 2 tables from 64 runners and I raise kk utg the button flats who had been really tight upto now folding 1010 twice when he really should of called anyhow flop was 863r I cbet and he flats turn is a 6 and I bet 7k and he makes it 14k with the history of him been really tight I should of put him on a flopped set and turned house but for some reason I felt I was ahead and moved allin for 13k more to him he hummed and haahed for a bit and then says I cant fold now and tables qh10h wtf hes drawing dead weeee what a gift.I get to the ft with a decent stack and my son craig "big stumpy" newton is the chip leader who I have bought in for 50% plus buyin back, is cl and bullying the final table raising nearly everyhand he knocks a few out and I knock a couple out and we are down to 4 players he has 270k I have 210k and Rosi andTtom has about 100k each when I propose a deal of £800 each for me and Craig and £600 for the other two not a bad deal considering 2nd prize was £790 but Craig was having none of it and wanted to plYfor the win, fair enough so we carried on tillttom finished 4th and then Rosi dup thro Craig twice kk v 66 then 88 v aq and I took craigs last 40k whenIi hit a straight flush and Craig got £490 for 3rd, me and Rosi split for 1k each as we were just about level in chips.

Training and backing Sam "longstringofpiss" James also known to most as Samj to play sngos and the plan is for him to play as many sngos a week either $10 9s or $10 45s to get a roll together to go on his own, he started off slowly as its hard to get his head round the sngo strategy after he has been playing mtts for ages but I think hes getting there,hopefully he will run ok and win me some money and show himself he can make money longterm at poker,all he needs to do is get his head down and griiiiiiiind.

Back to work next week, I went to see the specailist and he says I have arthritus in my knee and if I exercise regular it might last 15years before I need a knee replacement if I dont exercise it regular it could be as little as 5 years,so Im getting myself an exercise bike to make it last as long as possible.

The run bad continues online and live, usually in the past its been one or another, three fookin months of contant outdraws and coolers but dont feel sorry for me, haha as if you would, as i had 10% of gaz "papa shippa" walker who very kindy shipped the ukipt at dtd for 94k which beats my biggest ever cash of 8.5k when he shipped me 9.4k.Last year gaz was my roommate at vegas and is a cracking lad and good company and his poker game has improved so much over the last few years so when he asked me to back him i snapped his hand off no problem.Well done gaz amazing result wpwp.

The cardguard cup=15 teams of 10 mainly from the npf and a few from hetton, as defending champ i was hoping for another deep run to help the dobbas win the cgc,Got off to a good start then lost a pot with kk to go back to ss then utg ss shipped and i called with 66 he tables 93 and binks a 9 then i get moved tables and i ship 3 hands in row with a8,kq,and aq, i get called by qq but i hit my ace for a much needed dup.then i pick off a shorty with kk v aj and we are down to 4 tables and in the points i grinded my way down to the ft bubble when stevie "wannayear" sensation raises and i ship and hes priced in to call with q4 v my 88 4 on the flop and 4 on the river ouch.The dobbas won the team prize with 6 of are team getting deep into the points with fatfish getting to the final table.dobba phlmac who was able to play at the last minute for a misfit team went onto win the event wp phil.It was an awesome day and ive never seen so many pissed poker players in my life hopefully next year we make it the hatrick.

Horses betting in running-Made a very small profit this month mainly due to laying 1 horse and backing the 2nd fav lost $350 on the 1 race so really pleased to claw this back and make a small profit of $80 for the month.

Circus £50 game- Got off to a great start until i lost a 20k pot which still left me with 10k 1k over ss then i got a lucky dup with a10 v kk which got me back into the game until i shove jh10h from the button with 10bbs and mac calls with aq a j on the flop but an ace on the turn seals my fate nd i get £110 for 11th place.

When i started writing this blog post i was playing a few mtts and i actually won the $5 $8.5g on fulltilt winning $2,291.38 hopefully this is the start of the run good.

Had 3 goes to qualify for the manchester ukipt finished 12th when 9 1k packages ak v 99 aipf then 19 left utg raises i ship with aa and bttn calls with kq??and hits the flush ffs.Then going well in the last one i played, well above av and 3bet player he calls flop 10 43 and we get it allin on the flop and he had called 3 bet with 33 sigh.

been a while since i last posted ,

since first week in Jan Ive been running so bad online but hardly played live , hopefully just a spell that everyone go's through , just only problem it seems to last forever lol.

last 4 live tourneys Ive played up till team game , Ive had pocket 10s beat by pocket 4s down to last 16 players , then £ 50 game i had jj go down to 88 , then with ak call Allin to a 54 hits straight , never mind always next 1 lol.

team game and I'm totally card dead , make a few blind steals to keep my head above water , then i get ak and its Allin vs kq , weee i hold for a chip double and i then get moved tables as their is only 45 left , im going well with a fellow dobba xenocode sitting to my left and we get into the points , then it happens again , first hand i call allin with akd vs j6 he hits 2 pair , then 3 hands later I'm utg with kk i raise andrizu calls with ak and hits his ace on the river gg me , but with 6 dobba's making the points we win .

play the £50 game on Tuesday and im on table with mac , Craig (his son ) and Sean mcguigan amongst others , 3rd hand in and the table donk who a few players were talking about before the game ( you know who you are ;P ) decides to call a raise by Sean on 25/50 guy to my left reraises sean makes it up and then donk calls , flop is 8c6c6s Sean bets donk calls guy to my left raises allin , Sean calls donk calls , guy to my left shows akcc Sean qq donk q6 no help with the rest and we lose 2 players (omg) , donk is now playing every hand next to go is mac ( apokelypse ) he doesn't show what hes got but on a board of 10 9 6 10 x the donk shows 108 off , few hands later its my turn , blinds are 100/200 i get 1010 on bb and i raise to 750 2 others call including donk , flop q108 rainbow , i check donk bets i reraise he goes Allin i got about 15k so i call hoping he has aq but knowing he has j9 , yes i was right j9 what a bellend he is , anyways im out and hes got about 60k in chips when we have 20 mins before first break lol .

so off i go on tilt to the roulette table with my £150 get down to about £40 and then i start hitting , 15mins later I'm up 1k weeeeee , so i head over to cash table and start with £100 , really good laugh with the likes of camel toe , andrizu , nemesis amongst others about 12 o'clock i see the donk again standing behind 1 of his mates at our table , i say still in ? he says no ( hahahaha ) donk , anyways about 1.30am i get up and I'm £270 up so pretty good night so far lol.

I'm hovering around the roulette but decide to play on the machines , im up and down for the next 4 hrs , and then mac ( apocalypse )comes over to tell me he won on chip count , got to say hes been playing awesome this year with a few big wins at aspers the g and hear ( wp m8) , so i head off home with money in my pocket for once :).

decide to play Thursday night in the g and im totally card dead again all way through first 5 levels , then i get kk and everyone folds lol , get back to av a little later when im Allin with my a7 to get snapped by a10 and i hit a flush omg doesn't happen to me :P , get to final table and after 3hrs of playing we decide to do a 5 way chop with most of us with similar stacks , but with blinds of 3k/6k , and the chip leader with 15 bbs we all get £350 each not bad for £30.

just hoping new month new goals ( play more live and online ) and also still sticking to my diet and training daily , 2ND week in January i was 17st8lbs , I'm now 15st 6 , i want to get to 12st 6 hopefully by July.

FEBRUARY- STARTED POORLY , ENDED GREAT

Started the month really looking forward to playing both online and live as there was a couple of games i was really looking forward too,( ukip notts + cgk cup).

Anyway playing live gets of to a bad start when i play ukipt and on a flop of A34 , im holding 33 (Happy days) all hell breaks loose and im pretty confident im ahead only for him to flip over 5-2 FML, and i miss my redraw . This guy was utg+1 , very loose calling stn but never in a million years did i have him on that hand.

CGK cup is a great event and i was part of the winning team last year so was hoping that teamdobbs took it down this year, we had a great chance and with a strong squad were always in control of the torny and cruised to victory, ( WHOOP) scooping a nice £220.

Play 3 other tornys at the "G" and final table 1 of them scooping £120 when i am cruelly rivered after a donk call and exit in 8th place. The second was a st8 forward AKvAQ when my opponent hits his Q (standard)

My final torny was quite a funny exit hand, when holding 33 ( again) flop comes 355 happy days, APOKERLYPSE was the pre flop aggressor and fires out a bet only for CGK to raise , i flat knowing he has an overpair , but i want apokerlypsis money in the pot also, he obliges and calls, turn is a fantastic 2 and CGK fires a big bet out and then im all in , apokerlypse folds and CGK flips over the expected overpair 88, HAPPY DAYS , untill the dealer flips over another 5 on the river, FML and Fk pocket 3,s.

The 2 main events were great and really enjoyed them and ended up making about £120 profit from playing live this month, nowt special , but always better than losing.

As for online, well i didnt play as much as i normally would but had a very productive month, firstly i made about $1400 from grinding and then at the end of the month i won Battle of the planets sng leaderboard , so was rewarded with a $700 prize of stars (happy days), so $2100 total ( £1300 ish) cant grumble.
I then decided to enter a £2 rebuy sattelite for ukipt manchester , i win this and get a seat into the £44 game which has 10 seats up for grabs, i manage to secure a seat along with another NPF player ( mrmcgoogle) For the grand total cost of £6.20

So a profit of around £1400 from playing a £500 seat to the ukip manchester and a couple of torny,s played which i really enjoyed, not bad , and really looking forward to next months grind both online and live.

Hi kids,

Im here to tell you what really went down at the Card Guard Cup a team game involving 150 of newcastles finest and hosted by teamdobbs very own Card Guard kid.

It began on thursday morning with a call to arms to defend Grovna from a band of nee craics called circus poker, they said the humiliation of people taking money out of their once great casino to give to some to a circus (complete with midgets and monkeys) would be the last straw. I told them nee bother and that Id call in the heavy artillery in the form of klaudia milk cannons and my trusty steed mcguigan. The rest would be mercenaries, forgotten men. The first was sir herbert of hackit whod settled with an african maid and put his motto of "raping over pilaging" behind him. The next ellis and ryan kinsmen of radgies, despite their theory of quantity over quality they still couldnt get a game. Next was packard as his names "thepro" I thought he must be good and as he knows tubbs thought if we are successful we could have balloons all over the kingdom. Jgeek who could only play till 70clock which was obviously plenty of time to fall on his sword. Davey newton apparently a friend of the newtons but with the same name thought it was probably a dobba trick but decided to keep quiet case it was another illegitimate heir of stumpy. Then there was late guy who Ive only seen at circus casino, knew he was a ringer but I had a strategy called "winatallcosts" Id perfected playing monopoly vs my newborn and was confident of victory or at least scamming second.

After the game starts I decide the best use of the first three levels will be spend majority in the smoking cage rambling to willdog and trying to drink 2 buds before the table orders get back- not difficult at grovna. I preceed to play amazing then get move to a table with dreamdobb and a load of other people I knew I was way better than and the rest I soon proved to be better then. I was pissing it easiest game I ever played. Decide to speak to andrizu who I think is sitting next to brennan. Brennan is busy implying someone at his table is gay is a very subtle way not at all using words fag or homo. When I get to his table he gives me a bearhug which was warm and was a little like when a hobo falls a sleep on you on the bus- you know its warm piss keeping you warm but it is 6am and february.

Soon Im downstairs on a table full of dobbas, well Im obviously the best dobbas so Ive nee worries there and before long Ive expanded my chips and totally outplayed xenocode with QQ vs 10 10. At this stage valets must be licking the arse of whoever is betting ponies on the roulette as I havent seen one in hours and the legend that is scoop kindly steps in to ferry buds from the bar to me which was by now a fulltime job. Our teams doing ok but comes apart abit around the bubble and after klaudia goes out 21st its looking like third so I go for the win ;).

By now pretty chipped up and owning everyone. KQ thinks he can push over my raise how wrong he was. From there I dont really remember because I was concentrating so hard.

Final table-

Sat rambling with andrizu over absolute nothing. Put out the last of team circus when outplaying them with A3 vs a better A. Then got a badbeat from costa but shes a girl so needs the help as all women are shit at poker. lots of shit not involving me (so not interesting) and the next hand I remember was calling 44 in BB to someone from hetton. He only had that lass with him to blame as her constant repeating of "welldone gaz" or whatever the fuck his name was was doing my head in, didnt hear her say welldone when I dumped him out of the tourney in 4th.

Rosi and sensh on seeing my unique ability decide to concede the game as they just cant win so I decide to look after them as im just that kind of guy.

Someone gave me a trophy which resembled an under7s wallsend boys club one which was mint as i was always shit at football and I ate sausage and egg mcmuffins out of in true FA cup traditon.

Theres been alot of complaints about the way the tourney ended. Theres alot of holier then thou players out there but tbh I just do what I feel is right in the moment and dont really give a fuck what anyone thinks.

Wills doesnt want to run the tourney anymore after his integrity was brought up. TBH hes spent years around the scene stopping people being bullied, improving the way the game is played and providing amazing games for people including myself who are too lazy to do anything about our problems in newcastle poker. He also always speaks his mind doesnt matter who that puts him in opposition too. I did say he didnt say no what I mean is he didnt slap me across the side of the head and say stop fucking about- drunk people dont listen. If people want to question integrity look a little closer to home; many of the people criticising werent there, didnt play or are too shit to understand grey areas. These are the kind of boring fuckers who regurgitate newspapers and judge without any thought of the consequences. He is the best at what he does and alongside scott and dave revolutionised poker in our area. Unfortunately moronic people will post the same criticisms again and again until people who run things think why am I bothering, they dont understand what goes on so why should I put my name or reputation to anything. Quite simply people will do whatever they like and alot of people posting on NPF need to get real.

People questioning wills or npf dont belong there as they dont understand it or the figureheads involved. Steve Wills is one of the most generous and thoughtful people Ive ever met and his contribution to games is not negotiable- if he isnt there youd know and be the worse off for it. Ive apologised to wills for my part but I feel theres a host of others who didnt think before they posted and dont get the implications of accusing a proud guy of lacking integrity who owe some massive apologies.

Team crush the CGK Cup

Saturday saw the lads of Teamdobb at the G casino Newcastle for the anual Cardguard Kid Cup Team competition up against another 14 teams of 10 players from around the North East. Basically at full strength with the exception of Mr Entertainment who was working & Phlmc who didnt think he would be available and then became available at the last minute but obviously the team of 10 had already been confirmed then.

Great tournie this with the majority of the field made up from the NPF and alot play with the full intention of having a fun day and getting totally smashed.

Instructions to Cowhead are plain and simple before the off " Get ya finger out, nit up and score some fkn points" and advice to inform KQ4Eva is play tight and go deep mate into the points. No point in giving advice to Fatfish as he was off his head with the drink already and the rest of the squad simply know the crack in team games and dont need being told anything.

Get great table and the banter flows from the start and Im very comfy adding slow but steady to my stack. On the drink early doors and before too long we are nearing the 40 players left where the points come into force.

Advice to Cowhead is of no use as he busts out 1st being vul tbh as he gets 2 coolers AA v KK and is followed by Can Only Get Better who doesnt live up to his name. Cardguard and Jimmy Chipmunk bust before the points leaving 6 of us still in as we go into the points and we had the most players left from all the teams with only 2 real dangers to us. One of them is The Mis Fits who were lead by Dobba regular Phlmc and the other is Team Circus.

Phlmc takes Xenocode out QQ v 10 10 and then takes Mag1892 out hitting his Ace with mags holding KK. This continued when KQ4Eva is brought to my table and soon joined by Phlmc who has a big stack now at the late stages of the game. The curse of KK continues as KQ4Eva shoves over Phlmc raise to get a call and Andys KK is no good to the river Ace of AQ from Phil.

3 left and last 15 players and we have the competition totally sewn up now as I bust after simply laddering the points and letting my stack get to low which leaves Stumpy & Fatfish left in.

Get awful situation where Stumpy ships AJ only for a very pissed Fatfish who had less chips wake up to find AA in his hand. He actually makes the call in fairness to the tourney and cripples Stumpy but then a triple up puts Stumpy back in the game but he finally busts on final table bubble when he shoves 88 and the huge stack of BB Stevie Sensation calls with Q4ss. 4 on the flop finds another 4 on the river and Stumpys run bad continues.

fatfish goes to final tabl;e and busts in 8th but the Dobbas cruise to the winners podium 25 points clear of the 2nd placed team. Ironic as well as Phil "PHLMC" McNally wins the overall event to prove simply what a strong squad we have here at the Dobbas

Great day, great fun, great people and superbly ran & organised by Cardguard Kid and the staff at the G who simply do everything then can to accomodate us and let us do basically what we want which you cant say many other Casinos would do.

King, well not really, but doing ok...

Hopefully if your reading this, then you may know me from the local poker scene in Newcastle. This is going to be my first blog entry, and if u do know me from NPS, or NPF you will know I have already gained a reputation for long and rambling posts, so be warned.

My real name is Andy Blair, my NPF alias KQ4EVA, and if you want anymore general background I suggest u go read the interview I did with Dan Trett, which he has up on the fulltrett poker blog.

Ok so I first thought about blogging just bf Xmas, and I was gonna do an account of my online year, but never got around to it, then I thought about a new year goals blog but never got around to it. I also considered a blog post about some of the mixed online games including a bit of strategy, oh and then a month or so in to this year I considered an entry about how I was running live, cos I was and am running and playing ok, but well I aint got around to it so far. So all these thoughts and none of them materialised into an actual write up so far, cos well I am a bit lazy basically, there u have it - I put things off. I procrastinate and this is not just with blogging, but many things, even poker. I mean theres so many times I was going to schedule my poker week ahead and so many times the next week was going to be so much more structured, well none of that has ever happened either. So perhaps I will just need to accept I wont ever be right on top of things, organised, scheduled, ahead of that same schedule. Sometimes u just have to recognise what kind of person u are and if your not the organised regimented type, well of course u could try and change, but u could just accept that your the rambling, flit from one thing to another type and that will just have to do.

Wow this rambling is very evident isnt it, I havent even begun to get close to explaining "King well not really" as a title. Perhaps I have begun to touch upon the not really bit, I.E the lack of organisation, the putting things off and so on part. OK I will cover some of the things I mentioned I had always intended to blog about in just some scant detail, to get things going and then I want to talk a little about live poker as a way forward or not.

My Online Year in short.

I could do cliff note style, but hey I dont do short really. I think in a thread I used a quote I believe was from Thomas Eddison the inventor, when discussing his progress on something he was working on. He said "I have not failed, I have simply found 10000 ways which do not work" My online year in 2010 has been a little like that, I tried pretty much every format of poker, game types, number of mans, speeds, gimmick tourneys - whatever I tired it. I am not talking about half a dozen games mind - I try things for at least a reasonable number of goes to workout if I like it, or can be profitable at it. My year wasnt a failure overall, but I guess one of discovery would be a fairer description. The discovery that I wont ever be a heads up specialist, I played in excess of 1500 matches for a very small profit, but simply isnt for me. I wont be a superturbo rake grinder, again I played several thousand of these at all levels and made profit below $50 BIS, but a similar size loss above this level, I raked some points and again decided its not going to be my thing. I played 9 mans in the beginning of year and made some small profits over maybe 5k of games, this has been a bread and butter format over many years, and perhaps my single biggest earner career wise, but I am just tired of them and I cant see me playing many many thousands of them going forward. I played some mixed games and razz etc, and thats been a real revelation for me, in fact my biggest single profitable format of year with over 10k in online profits from this format over a reasonable but not huge sample. I played 18 mans for a breakeven spell of about 1k of games. I played 45 mans for a small loss. I played a sample of just over 1k of 180 mans for around 5.5k profit so this another discovery as I actually quite enjoy these and have been profitable too over a smallish sample. I played all the usual large field small and medium BI mtts for a little above breakeven, but with no super big score.

Ok to summarize a little, I had a profitable year online to the tune of just short of 22k on all sites, all play, add back some bonuses cleared, rakeback and u get above 25k, take off some profits to stakers from a deal I entered in back end of year and your back to pretty much 23k. I discovered razz and horse, ruled out some formats for the longterm, and I also like and think I may concentrate on multi table sngs like 180s and 18s in parts of this year. Meh it was a good year in many senses but also a frustrating one where I never really broke through so to speak, but what can u expect when your not very organised, u put things off, and u spend just as much time browsing and on the forum and reading other ppls poker blogs as u do working on your game and playing your game. I am a better player now to 12 months ago, and have some degree of knowledge about things I definitely dont want to specialise in and things I might like to do more of. So thats a success - Yes !

Goals For 2011

Well I didnt write them up properly - I did post on the thread at forum but I was going to do a poker plan with everything in it, but guess what I didnt do it.

This year though I want to find a format I can call my bread and butter online earner.

This might come from 18 mans or 180s I feel.

I want to have a successful live year, better than last year. I made 7k clear profit last year live after all deduction of expenses - I hope to at least double that this year.

I want to still be enjoying my poker, and make more friends through the game, forum, live and online

I think that will do for me, as its no point me writing a load of garbage I really have no likelihood of sticking to.

My Start to this Year

Well this is actually where the title started out - King (a play on my alias KQ) signifying I rule the poker world... Erm well cleary the not really has to follow VERY QUICKLY as I am writing this I have just as many of u will have done followed the exploits of a certain Gareth Walkaaa and his super fantastic, mega awesome bink at UKIPT Notts. So he is king, but I have had a pretty tidy start to my year both live and online and I think its ok to be happy about ones own start to year, whilst at same time realising it pales to what he has managed to achieve. The funny thing about poker and dont say it isnt true of you (your just lieing to yourself) is that whilst u are definitely pleased to see a local come good, one part of u cant help but wish it was u that made that breakthrough score. I think Scotty said congrats and so jealous, well jealous is an emotion we dont like to admit too, but have to agree with Scotty here - over the moon for u Gaz, wish it was me, u and brett though all fighting it out for those three top spots ...

I have played alot live since turn of year, simply because I have been enjoying it, and playing and running pretty well. In the first five weeks of year I made 10 live FTS and got various chops, and even an outright win to make cashes of £4.2k on the local casino scene, this from around 1k of bis. This bf I also decided to play UKIPT Notts and so u can add 1.68k to cashes and another £560 to the bis column, still leaving a healthy profit form well a month and a half in live play. I also played some but by no means any significant volume online, and mainly because of a few early in the year razz fts, I am in profit to tune of $2.5k online in the same period.

Live Play

I mentioned live play and wanting to talk about it more, and I could do u a full ukipt notts tourney report, but it would be sufficient to summarize as folded a hell of alot, made a handful of good plays to keep my stack alive, got outplayed a few times, made a couple of bad moves and having never ever really been in contention exited the tourney in a very std way when shoving a small pair into a slightly larger pair. I played ok I felt, not brilliant, but it was good experience and my first large BI, deep structure so to out last 1000 others some of whom are top top players and to cash has to be something to look back at and say u did ok. So to live in general I am really starting to get confident in my game, hopefully not over confident, but certainly to the point where I feel free to play my A game fairly regularly. I am not by any means the best local live player, but I am gaining a reputation as at least someone who is tricky and difficult to play against, and it appears through various threads, and local banter I am getting a "He runs so Good tag too" - Thats all gotta be good for me and my local live chances wouldn't u say ?

So to end this first post - gosh your thinking at last .... I plan on playing circus tonight for the Tuesday 20/20, and hope to see some of u there. I am King, well king queen actually, Gaz is King. I am playing and running good, and entering another year that I hope is a very successful one for me, and most importantly an enjoyable one, cos whats the point if its not. GL at the tables All..

Head down to Notts DTD for the Poker Stars UKIPT leg with fellow dobbas Stumpy, Xenocode and KQ4Eva. Get stuck in bad traffic then take wrong turn off in Notts n arrive 30 mins late.
Settle in to table pretty quick and pleased its quite a relaxed n verbal table with couple of real characters on it. Only face I recognised was Hit Squader Karl Marenholtz who bust out pretty quick with 2nd pair flush draw K9ss
Get to 17k and guy raises with me holding QQ and my 3 bet gives me the info he aint folding as he 4 bets back so Im forced to fold and soon drop to less than 9k left. I eventually get in afew pots with same guy and I re raise with QQ to be called. Flop of Q9J and I lead out for him to re raise me all in flipping Ace 10 but I hold. Couple of good squeezes and my stack is becoming more healthy but table dynamics are starting to change as players bust out and some well know players arrive at the table with big stacks.
Biggest hand for myslef comes when guy I had alot of action with raises into me holding KK and my 3 bet is faced with him shipping in having me covered by about 10k. He flips AA but the lovely dealer kindly turns the K I need and Im back above avg again. Finish day1 on just short of 39k which gives me not much room to find a dup hand for day 2.
We travel back as hate staying away these days and at least have a full day to recover from the 11 x 1 hour gruelling day finishing well after 1.00am

Go back on day 2 with fellow Dobba Andy "KQ4Eva" Blair and get really good table tbh as stacks are all between 30k and 65k apart from one Mr Dave Colclough on my left who was sitting chip leader and proceeded to virtually open every pot as expected. Best hands I see are 910cc and KJ on the button and down to 27k on my BB 1k/2k 400 ante I shove to Colclough 5200 raise holding JQss. He has a small tank before calling with K9dd. Rainbow flop but Jd puits me ahead only for river 5d to give Dave the flush. Good night and bust out 187.

Stay and rail fellow Dobba KQ4EVA who eventually busts 57th after playing great poker with very few cards. We grab summit to eat and then stop in at Nandos to say good luck to Gaz Papa Walker the last NPF member standing and team captain of Walkers Sensations who was still in and sitting very healthy. Seeking to make back to back final tables in this event would simply be an amazing achievement

Get back and follow Gaz on the forum as he keeps us all well informed via his mobiles and messages back to the NPF.

NPF is going crazy with huge rail and UKIPT thread is getting biggest hits ever as Gaz Walker gets deeper and deeper. 9, 8 7, 6, 5, 4 and the biggest payday of his poker playing creeps closer n closer

OMG late into Tuesday morning and 3 handed Gaz is faced with AA of Brett Angel with KQ. Nee probs for Gaz as he flops a Queen and makes his 2 outer on the river. Can he do it and what makes it so amazing is a piss take thread we had at NPF about Italians and we comically banned Dobba Cowhead 24 hours for a racist remark as he stated he hated Italians. The replies were classic as alot of people took it as serious so imagine if Gaz gets heads up with an Italian. So ironic.

Italian heads up is not to be as Gaz takes him out in 3rd place so its an NPF 1, 2 as he takes on Teesider & NPF member Brett Angel who was the last guy I spoke to as I left DTD and a cracking lad with it as well.

The heads up swung from one way to another until eventually they have made a deal Gaz took 90k Brett took 80k and they played on for the rest and title. Eventually Gaz takes it down and it seemed the whole of the NPF wentr crazy

The pain continues after my points bubble at apat i play the £50 game at circus and after knocking mrs stumpy out to put me in the badbooks when i picked up kk twice versus her 99 and aq.theres 13 left when i reship jj and im versus ak and aq out when flop is kk.This is followed by bubbling the g £30 f/o when 3 shortys dupped and i miss out.The next night ive got a bigstack and theres 17 left and have to call a shortys ship then i reship with 99 and run into qq out again.

Next game i get it allin on a flop of j104 v aj and kq and turn is a jack goodnite me.Then at circus thers 13 left and george lawson ships kc8c in the sb and i look down at 2 ks weeeee surely i cant lose this one?Yup he hits flush.then the next night i get to the final table of the superstack on full tilt when there is 7 left blinds 12k -24k utg raises to 55k and gets 3 callers!! I have asqs in the sb and ship 330k all fold to last man and he calls with a9 and hits the 9 on the turn and im out for $450 ish.

Headed down to dtd for the ukipt hoping my luck would turn had some really good players on my 1st table julien thew being the best known have to say what a gent at the table .I lose about 4k then get upto 21k from ss of 15 when im moved tables to prolly the softest table you will get to sit on in one of these event and i chip up to 50k when the av is 30k without been allin once until 3 levels left and every raise i make i get shipped on and have to fold and im down to 29k when i hit top pair on a flop of aj2 and my bet gets shipped on and i make the call with a 10 and he has the fd and hits the flush on the river.

Next day play the £50 game at circus playing well and picking up chips until i 3bet to 6k with qq and villain flats leaving himself 4k behind lol flop 8910 and he ships the 4k and i call he has 77 yup turn 6 and i hit the road again after i ship my last 3k in with atc.Move on upto the g and get it allin with 1010 v shortys kk and bs aj for decent side pot bigstack hits jj and yup im out again move onto the cash table and tbh was feeling the worst ive ever felt in poker since i started playing the game but made £90 on the 25p/50p game to make me feel a little better NOT haha.Good job dave "cameltoe" atkinson has had a couple of good results as whenever we play in the same game we take 25% in each other so got back a £190 from dave wpwp.

3rd week and going strong

3rd week into the better living and loss of 3lbs which is bang on taget for what Scott wants and I actually feel 100% better already. Feel stronger and more alert and all in all its even getting easier the exercise. Not missing any of the junk but must admit to sneaking one Ferro Roche per night from Xmas left overs after my dinner.

Play the G on Friday which wakes up everyone for the great value its offering of £1000 added and nearly 100 runners show up. Good table and going well with steady add to stack when pick up KK. Raise into Janmie Dales BB and he ships in for about 4k left and Im up against QQ. Flop comes the lovely Q 10 10 for a fml feeling and another 10 on the turn to rub it in but wait.................. weeeeeeeeeeeeee anutha 10 on the river and the pot comes my way. Was raising alot of hands and getting alot of re ships through but played this tactic once too many when re shipping with 99 from my BB and guy had KK. Nature of the game and need for chips in this one so sat at a very strong looking 25/50 cash table after busting out which had alot of NPF regs on but the crack was great and played virtually every pot and within a couple of hours left with £250 from my £50 sit down.

Tuesday I take in the £2k gtd at Circus and get off to good start making flush to take decent pot but then guy who had not played a hand raises utg and I make the call from my BB which flops me up n down. I lead out to be flat called and make straight with 7 on the turn. My pot sized bet is called but J river makes it an awful board but I still lead out to be flat called for guy to show Q 10 for top end to my bot end. Cudda been worse but given tilt button when I raise KK to be shipped on by BB shoving 100bbs in with 10 10. 1st card out is 10 and my stack is wrecked. Same guy is raised to 400 from the button on the next orbit and he shoves 200 bbs in showing AK. I raise 10 10 to be flatted by button but low stacked BB shoves so I re ship and button folds JJ. Im up against Ace 10 and flop comes Ace (case Ace) Jack and I lose most of what I have left. Finally ship button with 8d7d to unopened pot and get call from the BB with AQ. Flop up n down n even make flush draw on turn yet miss the pack and go out reasonably early.

Tomorrow sees me travelling down to DTD Notts for the Poker Stars UKIPT leg with Stumpy, Xenocode and new Dobba and man in form Andy "KQ4EVA" Run good juice please cos Im deffo due some and be nice game to get it in.

2 weeks in and feeling good

Quick update on the last 2 weeks.

Weigh in on 2nd week and Im still exactly the same weight but feel totally different. My aim was to change my eating habits etc and to lead a more healthy lifestyle more so than being on a huge weight loss diet and up to now its going great.

Im having a good solid nights sleep and not sure if its the change in food Im eating but do also seem to be sleeping better. Never missed a good solid start to the day which consists of scrammbled eggs , fruit etc and a balanced diet with real meals each day and snacks of fruit if feeling peckish. The numerous cups of tea & coffee at work have stopped completely being replaced by a 2 litre bottle of water but I allow myself a cup of tea around 10.00pm

My exercise is being followed through with squat work and squats with weights supervised by my PT Scott. I normally follow the squat session with a jog around the block and this is simply getting easier and easier although still need muscle build on my legs for sure as thats where I feel the most ache. 1st thing in morning and last thing at night I also take the dog for his walk around the block.

Downside is the weather and keeping motivated but up to now the motivation side has been fine considering and by the time the decednt weather is here I should be in decent shape I hope so able to enjoy it more.

Poker wise has been very limited to be honest but the odd game Ive played locally I have at least enjoyed. Played the Friday night £500 added at G Casino busting a couple of tables out and then played bit of cash for a small profit. Finally left table which had been good banter when 3 obvious mates all sitting in a line played this hand. Young lad who had hardly played a hand raises to £4, his mate on his right folds and his other mate next to him makes it £8. All fold back to raiser who goes into big dramtic speech play asking his mate if hes got AA. Tell me if ya got AA hes saying, ya must have AA. Eventually my mate says to him ffks pal its only another £4 call or fkn fold. Lad eventually calls and they both see a flop of J84. Check check to turn of 7 check check and river of 4 sees then both check check again.
Surprise surprise and KK v QQ is shown!!!!! After telling them what a load of crap that was I gather my chips n leave about £80 up.

Weekend sees me & Scott off down to Bolton for the weekend and the APAT Team Challenge with the NPF. Great squad we had and I had high hopes we could take it down.
Aim is to get at least 4 players into the points of last 50 players from the 200 runners and we fall just short when Stumpy goes out on the bubble very unlucky when we have 4 left AK v JJ that hits his K but oppo had hit Jack on flop when AIPF. So go into day 2 with 3 myself, Jimmy Chipmunk & Mark trett still in and 32 players left. Good shape cos no other team has more than 3 players and only 4 teams in contention to win it with us obv being one of them.
My intention going back was to simply ladder the points for the team unless I picked up some monsters and Im sure Chipmunk had the same idea as we had Mark Trett in great shape and he was crushing the field tbh. I then pick up my 1st decent hand of 99 to see an early raise from early pos to which for some reason I ship in when its obv the guy wont fold especially stack size related. He calls and flips 10 10 and Im gone in 31st. Chipmunk grinds it to just short of final table and Tretty is hoovering up chips all over and goes to final table clear chip leader. As the final table and placings were it works out we cant win due to one of the teams having players still in better shape but we did have chance of 2nd depending where they finished and looked good for at least 3rd if Mark could out finish the guy from Blackbelt. Unfortunately Mark goes out in 3rd and guy from Blackbelt wins it meaning we finish a gutting 4th place.
Great performance by all the team and a great weekend but so so disappointing for all the effort put in to come away with nowt.

Final game Ive played saw me take in the 1st of the month £1000 added at Circus and in the nearly finished refurbed cardroom a disappointing field of less than 80 runners shuffled up n dealt. Got good table consisting of Stumpy, KQ4EVA, Gaz Walker so the crack was great and I went to the game with full intention of trying to build a stack early and proceeded to raise nearly every other hand which resulted in me losing my stack within a few orbits. Bit unlucky tbh in alot of the hands especially I hand I had opened with JQ to find one caller. AJ rag flop saw my bet called and anutha Jack on the turn saw my bet raised and my shove called with him holding KJ.
Decided as it was so early to take the re entry new rule and was sat back at the same seat & table. Played this stack slower and was grinding nicely and got to the break around average. Big chance to get good stack when shortish stack ships early position to find a flat call and I ship AK from the BB. The flat caller makes it up and its JJ v 55 & my AK. Big feeling the pot was mind tbh and when the K hit the turn I thought I was home for sure but dealer kindly put a Jack on the river and the bigger slice of the pot slipped away. I was basically in shove poker positon now and waiting for a hand to do it with. Few raised openers get through and I raise again with 77 to find Teeside lad 2 around from me re raise me all in giving me the big speech stuff and for some reason I didnt think he was that convincing and that he didnt really want the call. I call and he flips over QQ n no saviour 7 for me. WPGGUL.
Enjoyed the game tbh and had some great crack and convo with new Dobba Andy "KQ4EVA" Blair who has been in great form and run good of late and he went on to chop it 2 ways at 4.30am for over £1200 each, WP that man

Poker books and do they really help?

Well, it's been a while but I've had a busy few months with a new job and all the mind numbingly boring training courses I've had to do.

The odd Poker session has been squeezed in now and then when I've had time.

Rewind back to about September. Working hard, training hard, lots of family commitments to take care of so squeezing the odd session in now and then was a major mistake. I was playing bad and playing formats and structures I dont necessarily like or show a profit from.

My love/hate relationship for the game took a turn for the worst and with a bankroll of almost zero I spoke to a Dobba member I wont name but we came up with a 50/50 agreement both with starting roll and profits. I mainly struck this up so I'd be more responsible and stick to BRM which I used to swear by but rarely practice these days.

Without playing out of my skin and shipping anything worth bragging about I've did ok and made my mate a decent return so far with a pretty healthy roll still in place. Hopefully this will continue and I find more time to play the games/structures I like and do well at.

I can honestly say I'm loving playing again at the moment because I'm not pressuring myself to do well.

Anyway, as the title says Poker books and do they help?

Way back in 11/7/2006 I read my first poker book Harrington on Holdem. Whilst I'd played a helluva lot of sngs since 2003 Id never played MTT's before. I must have played about 50 mtts at the most when I picked up HOH and next day I won my first NLH mtt. A $5 tourney with 206 runners for $267.

COINCIDENCE? I thought so.

Fast forward to 15/11/2007 I'd won the odd tourney here and there but I bought and read HOH volume 2 and sure enough I took a tourney down a few days later. $20 101 runners won $545 and 3 other tourneys in the next 2 weeks.

COINCIDENCE? I still think so.

Second half of 2008 I read HOH volume 3 and Doyle Brunsons super system and went on a massive upswing taking down over 20 tourneys and culminating in a $30 rebuy win for $3k (my biggest mtt win to date.

Coincidence? Starting to doubt it.

From the start of 2009 till today Ive won only 9 mtts. In that time I have'nt looked at a training vid, read a book and did very little leak plugging and reviewing hands through a replayer.

2/1/2011: Kid at work tells me he went away for Xmas and New Year. He has recently started to play online. I've watched him play a few times and his bet sizes and outrageous bluffs were getting him nowhere and he was literally burning money. Without disrespecting the lad he was awful.

So he tells me he bought Phil Gordons little green book whilst away and read it.

2 Days later he wins his first mtt online, it was just a small stakes tourney with only around 100 runners but I railed for a lot of it and he was playing a helluva lot better.

Concidence? I deffo dont think so.

Friday he brings the book into work for me to borrow, I read it by Sunday night and have a session on Monday on Full Tilt. I dont manage to win a tourney but I take 5th from 1310 in the $10 Superstack cashing for just over $800. Bear in mind I've never final tabled a mtt on Full Tilt. I've won 90 and 45 man sngs but not a large field mtt before.

Coincidence? I'll tell you in a few weeks time after I've read my next book.

Mrs stumpy and I set off to Bolton on Friday by train easy journey and get there by 4.30 settle into hotel then set off to g casino bolton have a bite to eat and then enter the £20£20£20 tourney which gets 91 runners and a 4k plus prizepool.We take our seats and im in the next seat to the mrs lol.I lose my 1st stack 5k when i flop bottom pair and nut flush draw and miss, then i hit fh with 64 and get dup 2 hands later flat c/o raise with a10 and flop 2 pair and river house and get another stack.Take addon and i have 17k at the break get moved tables soon after and cant win a hand down to 8k when iin bb with j6 3 limpers and flop comes 632 so ship it in and im called by fd and he misses another table move and i pinch a few blinds and im on about 18k when old guy utg limps 2 more limp in and i ch qd 8c, flop is 8 high 2ds i bet 5k into it and old guy flats now im not sure if i want a diamond or not but the turn is another low d so i ch to see what he will do and he quickly chs behind turn is a blank and i shove for 12k and he tank calls with j10 of ds weeee another move and down to 2 tables still havent had a premium hand all night until i pick up kk and ship 12bbs and im called by kq and dup then 2 hands later guy ships about 12bbs and i have qq v 66 now im upto 87k when its the ft.Ft going well pinch the blinds and antes and get upto 120k when i pick up jj and raise to 25k blinds 5k 10k and the worst player on the table reships for 75k make the call and he has kk lose and eventually ship 35k with q10 and bb hits with his 74 and im out in 7th place for £165.We head back to the hotel at 4.30am and get some well needed sleep.

Next day teamdobb and scott pick us up and we meet up with the rest of the team and im pretty confident we can get a top 3 spot with the players we have.teamdobb checks out the table draw and gives me the bad news im on really tough table and how right he was after about 10 mins realised there was no easy chips on the table on the bright side had metz from hetton poker in the seat next to me and that passed the time well as hes a really nice lad and very good crack

4,utg raises to 250 i make it 750 from the button with aa he calls flop 10 4 2 i bet 3/4 of pot he calls turn 7 i bet 3/4 of pot and he min raises me now when i hit a set this is how i would usually play it but for some reason had him on kk from the start so made a mistake of flatting the minraise should of just folded here tbh and he ships the river ob and i fold down to 8.5k

5,utg raise 99 2 callers and get ch raised on flop of k73 fold.

6,99 utg raise and get called off same oppo as aa hand flop is 10d 5d 2c and decide to take a chance and ch call him to get a dup as im 100% think im ahead turn is 5s and i ch call his turn bet

and the perfect river is the 9d and i bet 2k and he puts me allin for 4k more my fh beating his ad

7.table move and after been on my 1st table this was probably the complete opposite when i get 5 callers when i raise with acqc flop is a nice looking q53 i cbet and get 1 caller turn 5 and i ch call his bet river is a king and goes chch he tables qj and realise this is a totally diff table to the 1st 1

8,raise with aa after raising from same pos 3 times button flats and flop is q93 2 hearts i cbet 1600 and he ships allin for 12k i make the call expecting fd but he tables k10 for gutshot turn is a k but rvr ace and im now on 35k av 14k

9,raise j10 3 bet fold

10,flat call co rase with 99 flop j 10 3 fold to cbet this was mistake as this was an easy 3bet down to 28k when shud of been 35k

11,moved tables and im sat 2 after eventual winner who has a bigstack and is raising most times when passed to him so just waited for a hand to ship over the top of him to pick up an easy 9k this happens when he raises and i pick up ak and ship allin only for the bb to snap ship behind me and its the points bubble fml raiser folds and bb has jj flop j103 and im dead to a q i hit my k on the river and im totally gutted as i realise this is going to make it very hard for is to win with just 3 left in but after 2 minutes soon realise there was nothing else i could of done as i was waiting for this spot and i was just ul for the bb to wake up with jj and also lose the race.

Really happy with the way i played and was cruising most of the day making only 2 small mistakes which didnt cost me to much, but this just sums up how im running at the mo.At the crucial times im losing the races or getting badbeats but thats poker.

Had a great weekend and have to say all those who were down in Bolton from the NPF were good crack and lovely people just a shame we didnt finish in the top 3 which i think our play deserved.

Hi thought i best make an effort to blog as every one else is and i aint done one for ages. So hopefully will do 1 every month this year.

Anyway started the year with a few ideas with regards to what i wanna do this year during my poker sessions but it didnt take long before i was being frustrated by the game once again. I wanna try to put in some decent grind and have got myself tableninja, but start the year on a big downswing and i dont know if its because im playing to many tables or just the usuall variance that we all go through. I feel like im playing well and just being outdrawn but decide to reduce my tables as the downswing goes into week 2, not really what i want but think its for the best.

I decide to take a couple of days off playing and sort out a holiday for me and my kids to florida , which i get booked up for august, so im happy with myself and I decide to have a couple of live games as i aint ventured into the casinos this year yet so i play £30 freezout , which i donk out of with ak v 88 and play the new £30+£20+£10 where i manage 3rd for £610, happy days.

I return to the virtuall felt feeling good and grind back my losses and end the month with a small but welcoming profit of approx £330, was seriously hard work as i just felt i ran bad the whole month.

Also took part in the npf online ukipt league where i managed to scoop first prize and a seat to nottingham ukip which meant i finished the month on a high with approx £850 combined online/live profit and £560seat to a nice torny in feb.

Looking forward to next months grind and playing a couple of decent live games also , first time at DTD for the ukipt game so hopefully i run good and play well, looking forward to it.

Well Ive had my knee op got a late cancelation 2 weeks ago seemed to go well but still sore and havent done much with it yet as Ive had the flu since last Friday so since the last blog Ive only played live twice friday night at circus and finished about 22nd when my 33 v 74suiteds AK he hit flush on the river then I played the Aspers £50 game and I played great and got upto 36k when the ave was 12k then i doubled up the shorties with k9 v a4 then kq v 99 and im down to 20k with about 20 left out of 77 runners the tourney av is 10 bigs and im pleased to see gary has made it 30 min blinds which shud make a big difference and stop the shove fest near the end i went out 14th shoving kj into jj which I was gutted as played some great poker.

Online after the 1st week of this year when i had a decent week its back to the terrible beats i was getting last 6 weeks of last year,dont mind losing but when it makes no sense why they are in the hand it tilts me no end.So bad knee,bad beats no live poker,ive been a total pain in the arse,only bright news is ive been winning at the horses betting in running at betfair but will do full monthly review with all the stats at end of month which will not be good reading.

So its off to Bolton for the APAT team champs and Mrs Stumpy has been drafted in as a late reserve and shes so excited so hopefully things will go well and the NPF will be the champions come Sunday night.

On a brighter note Spoona and Samj who I have tried to help over the last year or so both have won online mtts spoona gave up for awhile then came back and won about 2kish then samj won 12kish in double g week on tilt good timing samj and the future looks good for them if they dont let it go to there heads and keep learning which im sure they will.

Into the New Year 2011 and like most blogs they are full of what has happened previous years and what their goals are for the New Year. One thing for sure is I certainly had no idea of what Im about to embark on until a post was put up on the NPF from one of its well known members Mark "The Threat" Trett who was asking if anyone had the name of a plasterer as he wanted to turn his garage into a gym as he embarked on a new approach to getting fit and controlling his weight after successfully quitting smoking.

From that thread a full subject circle occured as it normally does on the NPF and the thread changed into a get fit advice thread with some absolutely fascinating and interesting educational stuff being put on by members especially Eddie " Looseman " Constable ( my accountant). My son has been doing alot of work in putting ON weight and building himself up and like anything he does he puts alot of research and work into it and after installing a power rack into our garage he set about a programme to increase his build which is working perfectly.

Im the opposite and although I feel Im in OK shape for my age (54) Im suffering from what alot of people my age do in that ive got a chubby belly and am slightly overweight. Why? simply because Im eating the wrong foods and basically being a lazy slob.

It simply has to stop and from the inspiration gained from numerous members at the NPF here I go and from Monday 10th January 2011 my diet and food I eat has dramatically changed and Scott has gave me a fitness programme to work to which mainly builds muscle back to where it has have gone and its all based on squat work.

Most people have created their own threads at the NPF but I have decided to do mine via our blog and hope to keep everyone up to date on a 2 week or maybe 4 week basis

Good thing I have found about the NPF connection is that I think you will find each person who has embarked on a new healthy regime will inspire each other and add something to others that maybe would not have happened. I think it will also make you not give up so easy as so so many do. Heres hoping I can achieve my goals which is basically to lose my belly, get back into decent shape and to enjoy the foods I eat which will hopefully make me feel so much better within myself. Wish me luck I certainly need it

Alright, its fatfish here with me first ever attempt at typing more than one sentence.

DTD deepstack at the weekend, turned up nice and early with the missus cos she wanted to bust out of the early satellite after about 5 hands. The day got off to a horrendous start when I was informed there was no bulmers. I was busy assembling my portable megaphone I use for shouty occasions such as these when my day was brightened by the arrival of Milo with THE greatest blazer Ive ever seen. It can only be described as on old school blazer with a flourish of camp, the type of ensemble that only Milo can pull off, a simply awesome display by the young man.

The tourney itself got off to a good start, got up to about 15,000 by the end of level one then then this happened. Blinds 50/100, I raised to 225 from UTG with 88. Flatted by a pipe then the cutoff made it 850. Decided to setmine cos the cutoff seemed the type who would go broke with his AA. Pipe calls as well. Flop 8-3-2, 2 spades. I lead for 800, pipe calls, cutoff makes it 4,000 so i just jam and get called by both. AA for cutoff 4s-3s for pipe and I fade the lot to go to about 35k. Table breaks soon after and I get moved to a much tougher table, Michelle Bennett, who eventually got 5th had about 80k and a hyper aggro with about 70k. Lost about 10k with 10-10 v A-J aipf and about the same with A-K v 7-7. Then the most awesome hand in the world happened. UTG limped and aggro-man made it 4k. I was pretty sure this was a steal or an isolation raise so i pushed with 8-8, got snapped off by both with K-K and Q-Q but it was fine cos I felt a run-good coming on. I will admit to feeling slight concern when the door card on the flop was a K but relaxed again when I noticed an 8 was there was well. Turn give me the quads and the dealer, obviously thoroughly enjoying his moment of glory, stuck a Q on the river just to be completely awesome. My instincts kicked in and I involuntarily shouted SPOOOOONDOGGG and everyone looked at me like I was retarded but I didnt mind because I had quads. So, up to over 70k. Just in case anyone thinks I may have got slightly lucky there there was an even more disgusting hand about 10 mins later. Sb raises, bb repops, sb calls. Flop 9-7-7, sb checks, bb shoves with Q-9, sb snaps with 7-7, probably thinking he was ahead. Board finally runs out 9-7-7-9-9. Awesome.

Got on a bit of a roll after that, picking up a decent pot 4betting k-6 and got a guy to fold QQ with A-10 on a 10 high board after he checkraised me and went into the next break with about 90k. Table broke soon after that. Not too long onto the new table and I picked up AA early position and got called from the sb. Dealer exposed the 7c when she was dealing which should have been the burn but she burned again and turned over a flop of 9s-5d-Kd. The table has a heart attack and the floor is called. Floor decides the 9h is to be replaced by the Qs. A big argument erupts so he changes his mind, puts the 9s back in and takes the 5d out. More arguments then he makes his final decision to replace the Kd with the Qs so the flop is now 9s-Qs-5d. I ask for a reshuffle and get denied and the sb says the change made no difference to his hand so on we go. He overbets the pot so I put him all in and he calls with Js-10s. Now Im not a particularly mathsy player but I reckon the change in flop may have affected his hand slightly, in that it gave him 50000 outs instead of just a gutshot. I didnt see the turn and river being dealt as I was busy assembling my megaphone for the forthcoming rant of all rants but apparently I won as they gave me the chips so I just went to the bar instead.

Cant remember too many details af hands after that cos I was quite pissed but I won a 40 odd k pot setmining with 44 v AQ and a decent one with 22 but I cant remember the board. Finished up the day with 150k then went to roulette rail Jamie Giles and it was a good end to the day watching his reverse heater spiral. Day 2 started with having some sick in the DTD toilets then back to the bar to sort meself out. I think the blinds were 1-2 at the start of day 2. Anyway, raised utg to 4,100 with Ah-8h, bb shoves for 26k, i call, he has KJ and I turn the flush to take me over 200k. A few hands later raise with A9, bb shoves for about 55k, I call and he had 6-5 and hits the 6 to knock me back down again. Stack goes back up to over 200k over a few hours play when a guy wiith 270k gets moved to the table. Played a couple of interesting pots with him after he asked if that was my real hair. Raised from early with 22 and he calls from the bb. Flop Q-10-4 and he instachecks which I took as a sign he wanted to c/r me so I checked behind. Board paired the 10 and he leads out. I wasnt sure what was going on so I raised, hoping he would check to me on the river if he did make the call, which he did. River 3, and 22s are good as his KJ misses. Soon after I raise with Ah-2h from utg+1 and he makes the call drom the sb. Flop q-8-2, he checks, I bet, he calls. Turn is the 3h giving me the flush draw and he check calls again. River is an offsuit 4 and Ive decide he has a medium pair that hes definately not folding so we both check and he tables A-J off to take me to about 300k.

Went completely card dead as we approached the bubble so I was trying to keep even by nicking, more of which were getting re-popped than were getting through. The bubble bursts and people start flying out and we get the arrival of one of the worst players Ive ever played against at the table. I proceed to blow about 100k to him in about 30 mins as he completely outplays me. Blinds 4k-8k-1k and his limp on the button with 10-4 threw me when he rivered a flush. Another limp from him and Im in the bb with K-4. The board run outt J-J-10-6-2 and is checked down until he bets 2x the pot on the river. I couldnt work out what he might have as he didnt seem like the type who could check down a J and the way he bet on the river just looked phsically weird. 2x the pot couldnt even be a value bet with A high as your only getting called if your beat so I make the call and he tables A high. Another awesome read by me. He wins another big chunk off me when I button raise with 10-4 and he makes the call. Flop K-10-8 and he check calls. Turn J and I mess up by not betting. River Q and he overbets the pot and I lay it down, satisfied in the knowledge I played it wrong on every street.

Continue to struggle and I nit it up as we get closer to the FT, partly because Im not getting much through and partly because of Mrs.Fatfish' "pep talk" to me at the break. "mind, if you do a Brennan Blowout (copyright 2010 Gaz Walker) you're walking home." So, I make it to the FT with about 150k. Blinds 6-k-12k-1.5k, I go a couple of rounds doing nothing then get 3 shoves through, 99, K9 and Kc-Jc. I figure I still have some play as I can raise to 25k and probably still get away as I have over 200k and I was pretty confident if i could get a double up I might get a decent cash as apart from Paul Zimmler, Michelle Bennett and a welsh guy, everyone else looked capable of a Brennan Blowout themselves. A guy with pointy glasses who had went from 700k to 250k in the space of 1 level tilt shoves from the cutoff and ive got the 88 in the bb that have been so good to me all tourney. I make the call, he tables A-4 and hits an incredible amount of aces on the flop and im done in 8th place. Dissapointed to go out but I knew I had got very lucky earlier with the quads and without that I wouldnt have been anywhere near the FT so the megaphone stayed unnasembled.

Thats about it, I didnt know I would be writing about this until DC suggested it on the forum so sorry for the lack of hand details, I can only remember the ones that stick out. If I do another one I'll stick some notes down. Cheers people.

Qualified online for this last year its a bit of a crapshoot so tryed to make things happen but no joy also made two bad calls which left me short eventually went allin with AQ and called by KK no ace and i hit the cash tables,soon to be joined by mrs stumpy and big stumpy and teamdobb,bigstumpy headed home while kaz and teamdobb and i went down to stowell street for a chinese had a couple of bottles of wine with the meal and arrived back at aspers and played cash and the £30 f/o. played well and got upto 14k when i raised the button with aq called by deltabravo flop was aaj and eventually all the chips go in and judy has aj siiiiik mrs stumpy went on to come 9th for £85.played 1-2 dealers choice and won a few quid on there but cant remember much about it as we were on are 7th bottle of wine by then!!So overall a great day no luck in the mtts but won at cash and we had a good laugh but my god im paying for it today so ill.

1st blog post of the year 2011 and as I normally do it was pack the suitcase and get out of the UK for the last 2 weeks of 2010 and head for the sun. Hate Xmas & New Year and its perfect time personally and business wise to fly to warmer climates and get away from the freezing winter of the UK. Return back to Dominican Republic in the Caribbean and it will be our 4rd visit to this island. Basically look for a decent quality complex with good standard of accommodation and a chill out relaxing 2 weeks break. Choose what we regard as top of the range for a newly built resort at the Hard Rock Casino Resort formerly the Moon Palace.

So what has 2010 brought on the Poker front. The NPF has continued growing every week and all the events we organised went as well if not better than planned.

Final table the Birthday game but low stacked and 1st button and opportunity to shove with JQ Im looked up by sb with A9 of Mulhuzz and nee help out in 8th

The UK Team Challenge and if I say it myself it was one of the best organised and fun games to play in with Walkers Sensations taking down the team game with The Dobbas runners up and the personal satisfaction for me of a 4th place finish and top dog for the Dobbas. Compliments were received all year at various tournaments around the UK we played especially Mr Entertainment & Cardguard Kid who simply were awesome on the mics and added a totally different slant to poker competitions that it seemed all thoroughly enjoyed. Cardguard simply owns these events with how he handles them.

Couldn’t quite do a double in holding onto my NPF Championship crown although did go deep again finishing 14th and overall was very happy with how I played during the 2 days. Some other good shows here from fellow Dobbas with Mr E being final table bubble boy, Stumpy finishing in 7th and new Dobba Andy KQ4EVA Blair in 3rd place and very very unlucky not to win it. Me & CG cleaned up on the book we organised although were made to sweat with 12 left and quite a few that could do us badly were still going strong.

Problems as we try to get away to Dominican in that the Thompson flights have been suffering from a knock on effect from the bad weather and we are informed our 09.25am flight has a new departure estimated at 17.30pm but we eventually flew out at 23.30pm. At least we knew and travelled later to Manchester, took in an Indian meal on route and only had a few hours wait around the lounges

2010 final figures for live poker showed a 6th year consecutive profit of just over £3000 which Ive got to be happy with considering no real big scores and an average of only 1 to 2 games per week. Biggest highlights were the obvious 2nd cash in a WSOP event with my finish in the Seniors Event and then watching my son take down a Binnions Classic for his best ever result railed by all the NPF Vegas crowd.

Decent seats on the plane and get a lot of shut eye in during the 10 hour flight which eases the pain and no hanging about on arrival at airport as we are the only ones on our flight going to the Hard Rock and it’s a one to one taxi that picks us up so within 25 mins of landing we are at our resort. Place is absolutely huge and the rooms are one of the best we have ever had anywhere and deffo the best weve had in the Dominican.

As for 2010 and the more well known tournaments, well didn’t really play that many. Originally was going to play most of the Coral Masters games but for one reason after another didn’t bother. Played the Teeside leg and had a great time enjoyment wise with some great tables and made 2nd day well placed in chips but donked out early not really believing Stumpys son had the hand he had. Biggest regret was when top 3 in chips folding QQ to an all in move by Mark Trett ( AK ) Being Mark he would of obviously hit but theres no way now in hindsight I should ever fold there based on stacks and it niggled away at me for along time after.
I also travelled and played the Mallorcan leg of the Spanish Poker Tour as a birthday present to myself and that proved to be an absolutely brilliant game. Throughly enjoyed it and one of best organised and staged events Ive ever played in. Will deffo play that again in 2011. Went out just short of cashing from large field but made 2 bad mistakes by betting with wrong coloured chips which deffo cost me badly at crucial times.

4th time in Domincan and can honestly say we had hardly seen a bad day weather wise until this year. Day after day of overcast and very windy made it very frustrating as the sunshine and lying around the pool and beach is what we love doing to unwind and charge the batteries for the year ahead. Complex was brilliant but lacked some nightly entertainment like some shows but this was not there due to the hand over from Moon Palace to Hard Rock and the re branding of the resort. The Casino on site was amazing mind and by far the best by a mile on the island. Very much Vegas style and had a great Poker room although 3 tables of cash was the max they had going coupled with dealers and staff who were very very new to Poker and patience was needed at some the things that went on which you simply had to bite your tongue at. Games were incredibly easy and that coming from me who aint anywhere near a decent cash player. Finished the holiday on poker $1100 from a starting total of $300 together with that we were given $2500 resort credit to spend on Spa, Golf, Trips or Match Blackjack. We spent $500 on spa treatments and the remaining $2000 we took as Match Play Blackjack. Basically you match in $ what they give you in vouchers by playing Blackjack. Placed them in blocks of $200 and after using the tokens finished with a total of $3100 giving us a + return of $1100. Had put a thread up at NPF asking best way to play this and a couple had said put it all on in one hit!!!! I was dealt AK for blackjack 1st hand we played!!!!!!

Enjoyable break although became bit bored near the end mainly due to the frustration of coming so far and not getting the weather we came here for. Not to worry as still better than being freezing back home.

Personal Goals for year, well to basically try and not get stressed out at daft things at work and simply enjoy the position we are in. Looking forward to some more travel and developing some new suppliers we have chosen together with an exciting new product line in stainless steel handrail components. New brochures and web sites to match and some staff development should see us have another decent enough year considering the tough trading times most people are facing. Hopefully Scott continues to develop within the company and his input with new stuff is crucial in my opinion to take us forward
Start preparing for daughters wedding in February 2012 in Thailand and thank you for endowment policies maturing just in perfect time!!!!!

Poker Goals for 2011, well havnt got any if Im honest. Ill just take it as it comes and try my best to keep enjoying playing which has been lacking in 2010. Was given an entry into Poker Stars UKIPT Event for Xmas by my son which was totally unexpected so look forward to playing that combined with another visit to Mallorca. After that Ill try to simply game choose better and not simply play just for the sake of it although I do enjoy my Friday night excursions with Stumpy on our Corona nights and we normally do OK as well!!!

Play the Sky Tour game on the weekend I get back which is normally fun and then end of January sees the NPF Forum Team travel down to Bolton G to compete in APAT s UK Team Challenge. Now this game I would really love to win and bring the bacon back to the North East and also highlight the strength in depth forum of players we have and Im sure the support both there and online railing will be awesome.

Played last too live games just before Xmas £30 f/o at Circus went out with set of 3s to Apokerlypse set of tens then the £30 f/o at Aspers and I finished 3rd for £150and Mrs stumpy was 4th for £120.

Online has been awful the last 6 weeks, sngos just getting hammered doesnt matter what they are callin with they are hitting and mtts im getting deep every night but losing the key hands near the fts.

Looking back at last year pokerwise live was very happy with my results only never kept a record so this year mrs stumpy and i will write down every live mtt or cash games results and keep running total on here, i used to write everything down but when they prizes dropped from the good old days of 5k pots everynite i gave up, ive still got my book from my 1st two years at aspers the 1st year i was 18k up ahh the good old days haha.

Online was going ok about 9k up 6 weeks a go but after the downswing ive finished only 6.5k up which is well short of last years 14k

Poker goals for 2011

1,Keep working on improving my mtt play.

2,play 4k sngos 45 mans and 9 mans

3,Play more bigger games live as the small amount ive played i have 5 fts

4,Try to help mrs stumpy improve her game(done amazing upto now playing 2 years and made a profit both years) needs to take the next step

HI DOBBA watchers, well as the title says its been a while so before chief Dobba kicks me into touch for not posting on the blog I thought I had better get my finger out and bring you up to date in the world of MR E. As some of you may know February 2010 saw me join Card Gaurd Kid`s company down in Bradford however as Steve has recently posted Black horse purchased the Bank of Scotland and as they do all there own recovery it wasn,t viable for myself to continue so me and Steve parted company in September of this year, I would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank Steve for everything, if nothing else I learnt a lot obout corporate recovery and not forgetting 10.30am on radio 2 pop master of which you are the champ.

On the work front I managed to walk straight into another position with a finance house in Sunderland no mean feat in the current climate but the biggest challenge came when myself and Cardguard decided that we should take full advantage of Mrs Entertainment`s skills in the kitchen as her buffets are now legendary and find a premises to open "DAWNS DELI" after searching most of the north east we settled on 165 Kenton Road a small shop in the middle of a street of shops, not brilliant for parking but was a previous sandwich shop and had bags of potential, however being as synical as I am I done a bit of digging to find out why it was closed and why it had not reopened, it was closed by the previous occupent and moved into the back of the newsagents 2 doors away which is now closed as it turns out the owner was in ill health, So we decided to go for it and launch "Dawns Deli" as you can see from the video it took an awful lot of hard work and time and not forgetting the pennies to transform the premises from an absolute shit tip into a sparkling clean state of the art DELI, we opened the last week in November and thanks to the awful weather and snow the first two days trading wernt brilliant but we had stocked the shop and we had said we were opening if nothing else to let people know we werent going to be put off by a bit (lot) of snow. I,m delighted to say that since the opening the shop is going from strength to stength and we continue to move forward and have picked up some wonderful contracts with some great daily orders, The work and effort from Mrs Foggo should not go unrecognised Love you Dawn thanks for the long hours cooking cleaning and stocking the place xx.

I would also like to welcome our new additions to the DOBBAS KQ4EVA and FATFISH both excellent players in there own right and most importantly great crack should be a very successful year for the DOBBAS.

On the poker front to be fair havent realy played that much had ten days in Vegas in October and played a lot of cash $1 $2 no limit and out of 9 sessions only coming out on top 3 times however did hear the best line Ive ever heard at the felt, it came from an elderly American gentleman who was in a hand against a guy who was intent on chasing his flush all the way to the river the line was " EVEN A BLIND DOG WILL FIND THE SMELLY END OF A HORSES ASS EVENTUALY " pissed me self laughing, Gutted to become the official bubble boy in the recent NPF Championship taking the mantle off Mag however I was very happy with my game and to be fair the table move on day two was tough taking a short stack against the monster stacks was never going to be easy but hey ho thats poker and well done to Dc ,Scott and Circus for putting on another excellent event,

Been reading a lot on the forum of late regarding schedules and best live games ect ect, in my opinion there are two kinds of poker players those who play week in week out with a view to increasing their bank role and the social poker player who plays as a source of entertainment I think I sit on the middle of the two if thats possible I,l play the big games if circumstances allow (work ect ) but love nothing more than playing a friday or saturday game at one of the venues in town with a table full of characters buy ins and rakes ect is irrelavent as I consider that a nights entertainment. I think the casinos will continue to fight over what I consider to be a dwindling number of players unfotuanately.

Well the last couple of weeks have been so frustrating, played 4 live mtts,

1,aipf blinds 100-200 32k pot aa v qd7d and he hits flush!

2,bubbled £30 f/o sb ship 13bb a6 v aj

3,Smoggies live mtt £25 never really got going, out in 17th out of 25,was a really good laugh with some great people.

Went down to Circus for the £20£20 game, quite pissed by this time lose 1st buyin with 76 on 7 high flop v Dan Tretts KK then grind ss until I start dealing and shove 13bb with AQ and Quietman calls with 55 only trouble was I mucked my own cards whoops.

Online has been the most frustrating though, lost count at how many times Ive been in the last 50 out 2k +runners and either been coolered or had some idiot try to donk his chips to me and sucked out.

My two favs were:

1,blinds 4k 8k utg raises to 18k im utg +2 with kk rerraise to 48k he goes allin for 500k im on 450k and chip av is 200k I call and he has aq ob 1st card ace

2,Blinds 2.5k - 5k new guy to table limps utg 3 more limpers I limp button with 77 flop is 9h7c3h ch to me I bet 18k half pot utg limper calls turn js he chs and I ship 145k into 75k pot he thinks for 1 second and calls with j10 no hearts and hits 8 on the river.

I did have 1 ft in my favourite $33 f/o on Stars, finished 6th when I got it allin on a J high flop v AQ and he binked Q on turn for $600 and I also bubbled 10kg on fulltilt when the red pro on the button raising every chance he had until I reship him with A9 and he has AQ for $200.

Hoping my luck changes for the better soon.

Dobbas sign a "Fish"

OK more news on the team side is that the Dobbas now offically have a FISH!!!! Yes thats correct that after last weeks signing of a "King" this week we have signed a Fish. Steve AKA "Fatfish" Brennan has been offically invited to join the Dobbas and will bring us up to full max quota that we need for events we may take part in.

Fatfish played for us in last years NPF Forum game and scored high but as like all the rest of the squad hes simply a quality lad. Has great sense of humour and has also became very much involved at the NPF with his witty posts and input there. Always a pleasure to be on his table although your always in for a hard time from him. A regular at DTD with decent results and Im sure the rest of the lads will be delighted at Steve agreeing to join us and look forward to his contributions here at the blog. Not sure if Steves a big writer but Im sure whatever he does put up will be well worth reading and make you laugh.

Just A quick tester really as never done any of this blogging before. Thanks to those who left comments on forum and or on TDS post on here. Nice to be welcomed officially to the team and blog and so on. I plan on making some posts but dont want to be one of those who says I will be updating my blog x times to only find they do one post every three months. So in short I will blog as I feel I have something that people may be interested to read, and I guess feedback will help me decide if I need to do more of it.

I suppose its like the forum in general , lurker and reader for a while, and then more and more confidence to go ahead and post. Well been a blog reader and lurker for sometime now and here I am making my very first blog post. Love Keiths comment btw - If I have already secured most long winded poster when a few words would have done, then oh well .... I hope u got to the end of at least some of my posts without nodding off.

A few things I may blog about, razz or mixed games generally, satelites ,180s and other strat stuff. Perhaps a little about a staking and coaching setup I am working within, some live tourney updates. I may even start one of those kind of challenge diaries but am concerned in so far as my point above If theres no posting, then its all a bit pointless, so maybe a little further down the line eh.

Dobbas get a new King!!!!

Since being selected to play for the Dobbas at the NPF Team game earlier this year Andy KQ4EVA Blair has been building up his NPF presence and regular contributions there which is obviously well noticed and well received by many.
Came so close to taking down this years NPF Championships and in alot of peoples opinion ( mine included ) was the player most likely to win with his play both with or without cards during the final table. Been having alot of success both live and online and I think the time has now come to "officially" welcome him into the Dobbas and give him also the opportunity should he so wish to make his contribution here with his knowledge and writing abilty which is very very good. I trust all of our readers and followers of the blog will enjoy it.

Get seat 1 and have to deal fml,deal AA x3 KK x4 to same guy in 1st level and this young kid has a go at me as if its my fault,build stack with slowplayed KK and AK on a KQ9 flop when I get reraised on flop so I flat,he bets turn and I flat chch otr and he tables QJ Im upto 16k when we move table thank god as young kid was pain in the arse.Next table got the plum seat right next to Simmy 3 fking K not just for easy chips but nice lad with a real weird but funny sense of humour,a good time to start on the corona and Simmy joins me,play JJ pretty bad after raise utg get 3 callers and flop come Q high and Chris Wood really solid player from Teeside bets out after I ch all fold and I call was planning to do something on turn then realise he doing this with AQ and give up he had AQ so just stopped myself from blowing out of tourney here,next hand get AA all fold jeez,lose another small pot in blinds and I get moved again and Im down to 8k which is ss blinds 400-800 so I have 4 hands to get them in end off shipping 76 utg bb folds A7 after saying to me you always have the nuts I say not always and show 76 hoping I get a hand and paid off next time I ship.Ship sb with a rag and Im upto 12k,utg raises I reship 99 he folds,raise AK all fold,then reraise button raise with QQ and he calls with Q10 now at 40k and then look at 1 card Ace raise but Chris Woods bb ships allin for all my chips look at other card Ace weeeee, Chris has KK no help for him and Im now on 80kish,then moved tables with 16 left and maintain stack till final table by nicking a few blinds best one was raise button with A 10 or might of been 10 4 Latif flats in bb flop a 72r I cbet and he folds KK face up!Final table and Mark Tretts cl think I was about 3rd with 96k. Simmy3k was there so bought him another pint to celebrate haha 1st hand get AA no action,then raise in position with 99,66,J10 then 3 bet pokerjack with QQ so now my stack upto about 150k and down to 7 left when JGeek raised and PaulJjohnstone ships from sb and Mark Trett reships bb John has a big decision as they are the two bigstacks now but he makes the call with QQ,Paul has 99 Mark has AQ Paul triples up when he hits 9 but John wins main pot and moves upto 400kish.

6 left now and John raises again and Simmy makes a stand with A10 v 99 no help for Simmy wpwp enjoyed your company.5 left and John doubles a couple of shortys up so decide to chop £1500 for John and £770 for me ,Paul,Pokerjack and Dean markthesharks son.Really enjoyed the game but hope they extend the blinds to 30mins and add in 2 missing blind levels as when we got down to 30 it was abit of a crapshoot.

Arrive to be met by Teamdobb and son scot who have just enjoyed a free meal he won in a raffle he runs good as he won two of them,we take are seats and Im on Teamdobbs and Farmer Daves table. Some good banter but we are quickly broken up,next table has a lad on he seems keen to play everypot I lose half my stack to him AK v AQ then I double back up v him AJ v K9 aipf 2.7k when blinds 100-200 lol.

Another table move and I chip up to 11k with some small pots until I raise btton with 99 bb flats flop 9 J Q and I get cr allin and Im up against A 10 which he bricks and Im upto 23kish.ThenIi get 99 again raise again bs calls then shorty ships 6k I reship to isolate only to be snapped by A 10 wtf. Ace on the turn and Im down to 3.5k.Allin next hand with 75 2 callers and river 2 pair now back to 13kish.Gladys ships allin for 6k and I have AQ bb. Now anyone else its easy call but its Gladys then the corona kicks and I think shes lessoned her range I was right she had lessoned her range and she tables KK lol, a nice ACE on the river and Im upto 18kish.
Down to 2 tables blinds 1k-2k and Im shipping every chance I get and get them thro and move upto 36k when Mrs Stumpy goes out n the bubble unlucky pet for £30.

Final table,With a very merry Teamdobbs cheering from the sidelines and Farmer Dave on the ft the banter was nonstop and very funny with all the lads on the ft joining in,We had lost 3 when I ship allin with 88 v JJ v AQ and I hit the straight on the river to triple up, Stewey a lad from work had JJ ul mate.Then a lad from Peterlee who had been a good laugh decides to knock 3 out in no time and Farmer Dave does the 4 way deal £355 for us and £500 cl.Another great corona friday.

A 116 runners the standard is awful but if you can gets some chips early you have a good chance to ft.Got a lovely table and chip upto 6.5k in the 1st level from the 4k ss until I get aa utg I raise to 200 blinds 50/100 get a caller then ss ships allin for 1700 I flat and next guy flats leaving himself 1400 behind flop is 234 2 clubs I go allin and he tank calls with 9c8c mm WP and gets there on the turn other allin has kk.Not many chips left so gamble to get a stack and flop top pair but Im out kicked and move over to the dealers choice table £1-£2 1st hand I get it allin £100 with flopped set v hamids fd and gutshot I turn the fh but hamid hits bigger fh when he pairs his Qs sik reload. I build this upto £450 until I flop trip 6s and theres 4 allins im up against fd and straight draws again i hit my fh on the turn and Im counting the £800 pot until Ace on the river whick gives Adam bigger FH I take the sidepot to be about even in the hand.Abit up and down from then until
Teamdobb comes across having chopped the tourney 4 ways for £400 weeeeeee.1 of the last hands I play a guy who seemed a bit of a newbie at dealers choice 3 barrelled a 3 heart board when I flopped 2nd nut flush I called all the way and he shows flopped straight phew.So we head off home £355 up

Arrive at Circus and the place is buzzing a few coronas and take my seat at the 1st table and somehow end up with 4 bottles. Dreamdobbs there and he takes 1 of my hands then we end up having a good drink until im moved.Main hands that I can remember on 1st table

55 raised 3 callers flop Q75 Dream bets out 1.5k I make it 2 more he calls turn 8 he bets out again 1.5k I move allin and proceed to talk him out of calling with his 75.

AA bb playa raises ep I 3 bet him he ships allin for about 8k I call he has ak no help for him and hes gone.Moved to next table and key hands were,77 bb buzz raises,Quietman flats I flat flop K75 Buzz chs Qman bets 2k I call Buzz folds turn puts 3rd club on board I ch Qman chs rvr 5 I bet 5k Qman calls and I take nice pot.Then I get few chips from Mark Trett 3 bet his raise with QQ he folds AJ then I call 2 of his late position raises with connecters and win both pots then I move to next table with 36k when av was about 14k.I lose a few chips until I get AQ and raise El Geordio flats in the bb flop is Qh6h7s i cbet 2.2k and he ships allin for 30k wow. I make the call and he tables 8s9s the turn is the 2s and the river a very nice Q and I move upto 53kish and this is where I end the night when we get down to 19 players.

Day 2

Doubled my stack without a showdown until I get AA v Kenlocks Ah 10h and Ken hits flush,then El Geordio shoves 107 into my A9 on the bb flop a 10j 10 10 this knocks me down to 70k then I raise and lose another hand and I move to the ft with 60k when it could easily of been 130k.

Take the blinds 4 times with AK,A5,94,1010,and Im upto 80k when Cameltoe raises utg I ship allin with AK and Im snapped by Kq4eva with KK no help for me and Im out in 7th for £250.Im gutted but theres nothing more I could of done just wasnt my day.A few will be saying the same Cameltoe who made another NPF ft wp,goldfoxdom who lost with AA.Andy Blair whos AA lost to Rob Charltons QQ 3 handed vul especially after playing some great poker on the ft,Well done to Rob who went on to beat John Devlin who played great poker for 2 days hup wp all who made the ft.

Mrs Stumpy went on to split the £20 £20 with Dan Trett for £585 each, Dan had a big cl but made a even split, N1 Dan it wont be forgotten.

Another great result for Kaz after splitting the £50 game shes deffo on a great run keep it up.

OK hes often known for his totally crazy comments and remarks but NPF member *S*LA*L* Steve Laker has gave me what I think is an absolutely gem of an idea totally unique to poker forums. Im sure others will copy but lets get going on this and see how far we can take it.

We all have something we dont use or that is just gathering dust or is of less value to you than something else so the idea is to trade an item up until we reach our target goal. The target goal would be to get someone to the WSOP and play an event and obviously to play the main event would be the pinnacle goal.

To do this we trade an item for something else until we trade up in value to our target or as far as we can get it. Any monetary returns could be put back into the forum to use for whatever people want but that isnt really the aim of this idea.

To start the ball is a NPF Cardguard and away we go.

n.b. THE TRADING ITEMS DO NOT NEED TO BE POKER RELATED ITEMS

n.b. to make this even more interesting what I propose is that any NPF member that succeeds in a succesful swop then qualifies for a MTT to decide which member plays the actual event in Las Vegas we trade up to.

The winner of that MTT will play the event with all the NPF and probaly the worlds media eyes on them. Be nice little story that one

been a while since i last posted due to lack of live play etc ( work etc) , so i wasn't going to miss this the flagship npf forum game .

i arrive and find out off cgk that I'm to early thinking its a 2pm start when its a 3pm start , soon after Dave , Scott and dream arrive and start setting up the tables for the prizes etc , soon after Herbie hackett arrives dressed in drag lol , now everyone is starting to arrive and u can feel the atmosphere building as this is 1 of only a handful of tourneys where most of the npf turn out for togther ( which should be more often ) , great to see some new faces also , and very good to see farmer dave and omahaha get into the spirit of things by dressing up as what i would say the bluesbrothers but instead of black they are head to toe in pink ( respect guys ) , teamdobbs and cgk are today's bookies and are taking in alot of money , hope they break even at least lol.

game gets under way and I'm on table 4 with stumpy , pjb , qpr , simpa , dream , mr daz , stu costa and jamie .
not much going on , then i look down at ak blinds are 25/50 so i make it 125 and get 5 callers lol , flop is aq10 so checked around to stu who bets 500 i flat and everyone else folds , turn is a 4 stu bets 500 hmmm I'm thinking i call river is a 7 stu bets 500 and i reluctantly call to see aq .

next hand i play the blinds are 50/500 and im bb 2 limpers and mr daz raises to 300 i look down at 22 so i flat as does pjb , flop 2q8 so i check hoping to induce a re-raise situation pjb checks then mr daz bets 2500k into a pot of 950 so i put him on something big aa or kk so i repop it to 5500 then pjb goes into the tank for ages ( must have aq ) he very reluctantly folds then mr daz goes into the tank then says have u got 22 or 88 then he goes allin yes hes got kk and he misses on t and river hes now down to about 400 chips ( ul m8 ) and we soon lose him.

few hands later and its 50/100 im bb and i got 1010 so i raise to 300 and pjb (sb) and qpr (bb) flat , flop is 562 r so pjb checks and qpr bets 500 ( didn't look strong ) so i flat but pjb takes a while and he also flats hmmm turn is a j checks all round then A on river they both flat and I'm thinking should i make a value bet , tbh it looked very sus the way pjb played it so i check qpr instant mucks and pjb turns over 66 for a set :).

few hands later i get moved to samj's table and hes running amok , hes got about 54000k when the av is about 12k lol , on the table is bella , bendy , luvdatoon , sensh , delta bravo and mrs stumpy .
sam or sensh is raising every pot to 2and a quarter bbs so i just think stay out od trouble , blinds are now 100/200 and sam utg does his customary raise and luvdatoon and sensh flat i look down at jj on button so make it 1600 sam flats and does luv ( only got about 5k ?) , flop comes down jj5 hmmm how do i play this , sam bets 1325 luv folds and i flat after a few more seconds , turn is a 7 sam checks as do i , river is a 10 sam checks and i then look at pot and think a small value bet might intice him so i bet 2500 he thinks for ages then re-raises to about 14k not sure exactly cos he just threw it in , i go allin and he folds for the extra 3kish i show quads he shows 57 for 3 pair lol.

I'm not doing much and table breaks for dinner which was free and put on by circus which was awesome as usual.

after the break we get the chip count and it happens that im chip leader by a few hundred whcih gets me the green jersey ( koytes idea i belive taking from tour de france every hr a chip count and chip leader get to wear it then sign it and hand over to new chip leader next hr ) which i did as the players were busting out fast and thick .

it gets down to 30 players and we get moved to teamdobbs table with koyte , rob charlton cheryl routledge , sensh , goldfoxdom , 8ball ally ( good to put name to face ) camel toe and leptic , not much going on apart from small stacks shoving etc , it gets down to 23 players and im utg on blinds of 800/1600 with 2 antes i got qq so i raise to 4200 rob goes allin ( small stack ) and also cheryl goes allin for not much more , i go into tank thinking rob could have anything and hoping cheryl had aq/ak i call she has ak and rob has 107 , flop j77 turn and river brick so we lose cheryl but i get some chips back as i have rob covered , very next hand its floded all the way to camel toe who raises to 6k i got kk so i push instantly hoping to make it look like tilt and cameltoe thinks for ever then reluctantly calls hes got a8 to which im glad to see tbh , yeah u guessed it ace in the window gg me lol , cant say i wasnt gutted 2 hands in a row nvm always next yr , the game then breaks for day 2 with 19 players remaining .

i didnt make day 2 just had a quiet day in and kept upto date through the forum on who was out etc.
the winner was rob charlton who might have got lucky agaisnt me but i heard he got a few bad beats also so it evened itself out for him , gg m8 wp.

somone once said to me u have to be lucky to win a big feild event probably at least 2 times , i think hes right , not that its a bad thing , but 1 i should take notice of this in the next tourney i play , i keep getting deep but the later stages i go out more often with the best hand either pre or on the flop , last 2 times this game has played i bubbled lol.

got to say this even means a lot to everyone thers a massive amount of kudos if u win this event , some people might say it was capped at 100 etc , but the feild of players that was on show was aswome some deffo pros in the making.

cgk was as ever compare which he done unbeliveable again , espically after going out first with AA :( gutted for you m8.

also have to say a massive thanks to scott , dave , mr e, cgk dreamdobb and everyone else for putting a massive amount of time and effort into this game.

and lastly the circus staff who as uasally was headed by jimmy b and was run as brilliant as normal with dealers valets and buffet etc.

Plans for weeks have been not playing much live and hardly any online but had always had pecilled in the Coral Masters Edinburgh leg with Stumpy followed by the NPF Championship to defend my crown.

I play a few online sats to try and get in cheap but although I get a regular flow of sat wins into the $80 final on the cheap I simply cant get past the winning line in the final. Closest being is losing hups for a $1125 package. Get hups 3/1 dog but edge in front just before a break. Simply cant hit any flop after that and any decent hand I pick up the oppo folds and eventually he takes me out after I bluff into his full house made on the turn lolololol.
Eventually come Friday I simply cant be arsed to travel up more so by how Im feeling about actually playing poker and as such tell Stumpy in true Dragins Den style " Im out!" Missing the fun aspect and after chatting with Stumpy we decide to have a Friday night Dobba Corona neet and off we go to Aspers for their weekly 100 plus runner £20 F/O.

Place is absolutely rocking full and around 120 runners take their seats. My table consists of some regular young "pro" type lads who non stop talk the poker talk and I decide to deal due to seat one guy being totally useless. Keeps me focused and in non donk chip mode. I settle in and listen to the drone about various poker heroes etc etc and some classic replies from an elderly lady name of Joan who tells the young pros how lucky and bad one of their heroes is ( Jake Cody) which had me chuckling away inside more so at the way she delivered it.
Always low stacked but Im amazed at how quick the field is whittled down and its not long till theres only 30 odd left when I get table moved. Soon as I move I get a double up and even pick up extra chips when making up in the sb with 53 and making set of 3 s for decent pot. Get moved back to starting table and few orbits later get moved again with 3 tables left. The game is simply ship or fold now with most stacks very similar although you still find loads who wanna limp in and fold tyvm.
Make final table with about 12 bbs which is average enough and only really one more stack of any major significance.

1st few go reasonably quickly and I find some good spots to pick up decent pots un contested by shipping over raises to build up healthy stack. Pick up AQ in BB and guy who hadnt played a hand shoves in his last 5 bbs but my call see me not improve v his KK. Few orbits later with 2 limpers and I ship button AJ for Mr KK who is directly on my left now to snap call me off. Ffks I declare I must be miles behind but he flips over KQcc and I start having laff about it with him and start cuddling him taking the piss ( 8 bottles does that to ya!!!!) Flop comes A10J OMF FML ******
Turn JACK weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee and Im back in game big style as my house takes him down. Yo yo up n down abit trying to take it down or at least get heads up with NPF er George Lawson as hes the only decent player left and only one I wanna really do any deal with but with 4 left and all much very level we eventually agree a level chop for over £400 each

Stumpy clears over £300 on PLO even though he lost 2 pots worth over £1k each to river and my lucky charm railer Mrs Stumpy drops me off home around 4.30 am zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Arsenal win gets me heads up in NPF footy knockout so maybe my run good juice is just starting to run in time nicely for next weekends NPF Championship

edit. Quick mention for Mark Trett of Full Trett Poker who took down the £200 side event at Edinburgh to go clear at top of tour money list and imo he should at least get a sponsership deal renewal on the basis of how well he has promoted Coral Poker and his tour results alone this year. Massive well done mate to a real quality lad who has a huge win deffo in him if given the chance in one of the bigger tournies

After a great run winning £3.5k from staking and $3k from 2 fts on full tilt I ran really bad for a few days so I was about to start a session when I thought hold on its 11.00am my lucky mtt on stars is about to start, problem was I had no money in stars got onto msn and swapped some $$$ from Knerrad he says good luck I think you will finish 5th!

I thought random thing to say but oh well he is a Radgie.I make the ft mainly by 3 betting the same villain 3 times and the 4th time hed had enough and called me with A9 good job I had AA.Theres 5 left when Im on button with 10 10 and I raise sb bigstack 3 bets and shorty on BB flats. I reship for 200k sb folds and BB tank calls after realising hes put a 1/3 of his stack in he has KJ and hits J on the rvr.Im out 2 hands later in 5th place for $880. Wow 5th well played Gypsy Rose Knerrad.

Then I have my once or twice a year cash blowup blowing $500 at rush poker and then $800 on PLO after running really bad in sngos. Keep saying its the last time I do this but this is really the last time lol.

Back to the ups and Mrs Stumpy did a 2 way chop in the £50 f/o at Circus for her biggest cash for £1100. There was an added prize of a £1300 package at the Palm Casino London and she had big cl headsup but lost 3 key hands K10 v 99 J10 v 56 33 v 88 aipf and missed out on the bonus prize. Good luck to Nemisis when he plays at the Palms.I also got to ft in this event finishing 8th my JJ no good v BGRs QQ for £170.

Had a thread up at the NPF regarding hates of both online and live poker which has been quite amusing and a wide range of contributions at this link top 3 hates in poker. Alot of well known ones are mentioned especially the one " I thought you had" and "its my fav hand" mmmmmmmmmmm onto Friday live.

As such I decide to venture out on Friday to play a little bit of live poker having not been in the scene of late. Take in the G £25 Double Chance Bounty game ( 1st ) to which attracts the huge field of 20 runners and I must say thank fuck for the Ipod as my starting table featured many people who totally tilt the arse off me especially a well known gay teacher!!!

I open 1st hand mid pos with 8s10s to a young student BB to which he calls. Flop of AKQ is checked to me and I fire a 1/2 pot cb to which he calls. Turn brings the Ace of spades giving me the flush draw and my gutshot is still there to which he tank calls my pot size bet. River is rag 4h and he once again checks to me and I put last chips from my 1st stack of 4500 into the pot. After an age tanking he looks at me and says " I think you have KK " Eventually he calls and flips over QJ. Nice hand sonny as I "tap the table" and shout for chips.
The table banter is tbh fkn unreal and tilting the life out of me so I turn up the volume of Ellie Goulding and try to get back into the game although I know Im going to struggle here. I start to get chips back mainly due to avoiding the mad maniac Chinese guy sat to my left who wants to ship his stack in every other hand with crap but seems to get there even though hes always behind. Eventually in level 3 of 75/150 playing about 10k the young student QJ guy opens utg for 600 and I look down at QQ. Lets go with this I decide and ship in my whole stack for Maniac Chinese guy to my left to snap call me and young student lad makes the fold of 10 10. Im up against Ac10d. Chinese guy tells me " Gambol Im tired and wanna go home" fuck me mate youve got mirrions of chips and are crushing every pot you enter ya daft twat.
Flop come down 7c8c9c lol giving him as many outs as he has chips and boom down comes the 3c on the turn to send me packing up my Ipod and heading over to Circus for there 9.00 game with late entry buy in.

Only 30 odd runners is this game but Im given a canny table sat to the left of Apokerlypse but opposite a drunken Rosib. Decide not to tune into my Ipod as yet as get into some canny convo and banter with Apokerlypse and tbh even Rosib was coming out with some funny stuff. Moving along steady and get to break with above avg stack to find the famous "ICall" has been moved into seat 10 on my left so happy days. He busts pretty early after making his flush which is rivered by a Rosib full house.
I make up from sb with Jh3h to a 5 way limped pot to see a Js9d3s flop and my lead bet is called in 2 spots. 8d turn and although I dont like this card I fire again to get a fold from guy on my left and an All In from Rosi. Im obv behind and fold to be shown JJ from her.............. nice button limp my dear. Ship a few times holding about 10 bbs getting me back in 12/14bbs area when Joe P opens utg with a min raise and I find JJ in the cut off. He asks me " How much is that Davey?" and I think it was about 12k " Yes I call cos its my fav hand" (probs 75% of his stack ) flipping the monsta known as K9 off. 9 on flop and standard Poker Stars 9 on the river sent me packing and off home.

Oh well its not just online where Im running shit................. roll on the NPF Champs when my run good juice will hopefull return

Well Im back from my jaunt across the globe to see my daughter in Dubai and thought Id do a write up of my trip as my poker activity and write ups are very limited these days.

She emigrated there with her boyfriend in April and this has been our 1st chance to get across and visit her. Me and the Mrs were picked up by them on arrival and after getting quickly through customs we were soon sitting on their balcony in their apartment 23 floors up looking over the Dubai Marina. Amazing site to be honest and the heat even in the early hours of the morning was very humid to say the least especially for the time of year it is.

People read so many things about Dubai mainly the do and donts and some of the shall we say strange laws etc they have but when your there its not really noticeable and a lot is very much the same as home. Well I say that but its soon very apparent that you certainly get rewarded for working hard here and they take no crap from anyone that decides they want to make their own laws. The law is the law and over the time we spent there you see zero crap from drunks etc and people treat people with respect and in a virtually zero crime rate you always feel safe.
This was highlighted on one of our 1st days when my daughter and her boyfriend went into a local mall to do some free fall sky diving in a simulator and were asked to remove all jewellery. On coming out we were on our way to get a snack when my daughter noticed her diamond engagement ring and earrings were missing from the sun glass case she had put them in her handbag. We retraced our foot steps and there on the floor outside the Sky Dive place in the middle of a very busy mall were her earings and engagement ring just lying on the floor. On another occasion she left her mobile telephone lying on a table in a restaurant and when going back hours later it was still sitting there where she had left it. When you think of the present state our country is in and the recent campaigns going on about getting people back to work and making it not possible to receive more in benefits than actually when your working it makes you realise how different a place like Dubai is. If your of no use to the place then your not allowed in. The whole place is very much motivated by the desire to succeed and theres no place there for scroungers and those who think they are owed a living or should have everything given to them on a plate. The result is a totally different and more respectful place to live where people respect each other and what they achieve.

We shopped, lazed around in the apartment and by the pool, did a lot of eating and drinking which included a sail down the creek on a floating restaurant and grew my oversized belly somewhat and the highlight of the trip from a tourist point of view was our extravagant afternoon tea at the worlds only 7 star hotel The Burg Al Arab.

A truly amazing place where entry is only available by being a resident staying there or by booking a meal in one of their eateries. £15000 for 10 days was not the sort of place I stay at so instead we opted for “ Afternoon Tea” in the roof top restaurant. At 395 dirhams per head ( approx £75 ) its actually worth every penny and even more. Your pampered with attention from your arrival and all through about 3 hours of eating in pure luxury with views that take your breath away and design and modern architecture of the highest standard all around you.

Theres even a special whiskey served in that roof top bar for…………………. £3000 per shot!!!!!!
I even blagged them it was my birthday and was presented with a special chocolate cake treat featuring one candle and a special card!!

Anyway back to reality and the grey clouds and cold of the UK

Heres a story I recently received which made me sit up and admire the guys inititave yet made me chuckle away at his scam and the audacity he has shown

Outside England 's Bristol Zoo there is a parking lot for 150 cars and 8 buses. For 25 years,it's parking fees were managed by a very pleasant attendant. The fees were for cars (£1.40),for buses (about £7).
Then, one day, after 25 solid years of never missing a day of work, he just didn't show up; so the Zoo Management called the City Council and asked it to send them another parking agent.

The Council did some research and replied that the parking lot was the Zoo's own responsibility.

The Zoo advised the Council that the attendant was a City employee.

The City Council responded that the lot attendant had never been on the City payroll.

Meanwhile, sitting in his villa somewhere on the coast of Spain or France or Italy ... is a man who'd apparently had a ticket machine installed completely on his own and then had simply begun to show up every day, commencing to collect and keep the parking fees, estimated at about £560 per day -- for 25 years.

Assuming 7 days a week, this amounts to just over 7 million pounds ... and no one even knows his name.

Getting closer to the online scoop. Finished 4th in the $10 superstack on full tilt $1429 then 8th in the 42k g $24 for $1393.Not complaining with 3k in 3 days also I deffo feel Im getting better and better in these mtts and feel I know where I stand in most spots now which makes it whole lot easier to get chips and preserve them.

Live Ive only played 3 times since last blog all in the circus £20 £20 dc games and Ive come 10th for £20 when I got no cards and dont know how I finished 10th tbh,then fin 7th for £80 after going to the ft with a healthy stack only to lose 1010 v aj aipf flop ajj 10 j sik and a early exit when I had ak v qq no help and out.

Sitngos ended making about $700 for the month after having 2 horror days but recovered well just got a keep grinding and squeezing the profit out which keeps you freerolling in the mtts.

Ive got 2 weeks hols coming starting this Wednesday so hopefully get a chance to play a load of mtts,heres hoping for loads more fts

Went to the knee specialist and hes going to do another anthroscopy op as they still havent found the cause for my knee pain hopefully this time it will work and I get fit enough to be able to return to the golf on the upside I will be off another 6-8 weeks recovering so loads more poker haha.

Funny how a few days can change the direction of someone so quickly.

Played the Friday G game mainly to meet up with couple of Dobbas I hadnt seen for ages in Phlmc and Xenocode. Get same table but lose 1st stack after raising with 66 for Xeno and young lad to come along. Flop of 689 and my re raise is re popped and has me getting all my money in as Xeno folds an overpair for young lad to flip 57. I then lose with straight over straight and flush over flush to take an early bath so decide to head over to circus for their £20/£20.

Get sat on Mark Tretts table and few other other NPF ers and its canny crack tbh. Tretts obv doing his customary crushing of the table and running his normal Trett way when picking up monstas he finds someone wanting to donate. Mark gets moved as we go to 2 tables and our table is joined by an old pal of mine who I aint seen for ages in John Devlin. Closing in on final table and we lose John as I hit a rush of hands that the board wants to slap me in the face with so get nicely chipped up and dont really want the final table bubble to end as Im simply picking up such easy chips. We eventually go to the 9 handed final table but only 6 getting paid although its only top 2 where any sort of return is. Not the best of seats tbh but made worse by the constant limping of seat 3 and Im slowly getting frustrated at my shit Im being dealt and his play. We only lose 1 player and every shortie is getting stacked up with their shoves when I find 88 on the button playing only about 12 bbs. Mr Limpy Dan comes in and I ship it for his instant call holding 99 and leave after with zero, fuck all zilch!!!!!!!!!!! Pretty sure Mark wudda took this down and was in complete control of the table when I left

Get talking to Roscopiko online and he points me to some extra value footy prices on Betfair to which I invest in with the intention of backing to lay in play. So close in alot of them tbh and my initial investment shows a small £65 profit although a shame Liverpool couldnt hold for the draw.

Sunday proves to be a lazy day doing fook all just mainly messing with the forum when notice around 5.00pm young Buzz ( Neil Harvey)has put a staking request up for a spread of MTTs on stars totally an investment request of $210 with a 60/40 return in favour of the backer. I decide to take the lot as Buzz is one of best young players in Newcastle tbh but simply needs some good Dobba dosh on his back to help run a bit better. I get in touch with fellow Dobba Stumpy to see if he wants part of this action as he is deffo a staking pro and hes snaps me off for 50/50 on the full total.
Early MTTs soon go the way of most on stars and its not looking good apart from the $35k guaranteed where Buzz has got himself some sort of stack to play with. Eventualy at 3.30am he finishes in 4th spot for a cool $7264.60 weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee wpwpwpwp Mr Harvey. Easy game this fkn poker mullarky and hope its the injection you need Buzz to change your luck

Its a hard life

Well fellow bloggers its been a while since i blogged and after a brief telephone convo with Teamdobb yesterday i was kind of inspired to blog as way of maybes an explanation to ' the quiet me' some people have commented on.

Firstly this year started great for me january was a good month and plans had been made for me to buy out my co director of my business which i did using all of my rainy day fund but confident that i would be much better off long term as the business would go in the direction i wanted and i could impliment my own ideas. This worked and feb through to may saw my turnover grow and the future looked rosey - then bang i get 3 weeks notice that im gonna lose 50% of my incoming work from 30th June due to my client being bought out by a bigger company and that company already using someone else. Then 5 weeks later i learn that the other 50% of my work needs the service level contacts re negociating as its also under the new company and these negociations end up with me realising that its just a way of dropping me without having to pay any compensation that would be due to me for terminating my exsisting contract. This has lead to a very stressful last 10 weeks as they currently owe me £76500 and as all big companies they are holding off paying and avoiding contact. I do have 2 cars and some equipment of theirs and i am holding these to ransom - but its a stressful time as i am now desperately trying to gain some new clients but in my industry its a slow process. I have got some new ' irons in the fire' but at this moment its a strange time as ive been in business for 15 years and i feel a little lost and its affecting my mindset and personality and after DC's comment to me yesterday that i seem a little withdrawn i thought i would explain why.

Poker wise not too much to report travelled to leeds 2 months ago to play in the yorkshire cup - A £250 buy in tourney that ended up with 50 runners and was a great structured game and was very happy with my final 4th placed finish as was a quality field including keith hawkins and tom middleton and just last weekend i travelled to teeside for the coral masters in which i ended up busting out at 400 - 800 level with about 30ish left with my now customary bad running losing 2 massive pots one with KK v 10 10 and one with AK v AQ. massive congrats to mark trett - a top bloke and really nice guy for his 2nd place, rosco and big stumpy for very impressive final table showing.

The future is exciting forum and poker wise, we have the NPF championships to look forward to for which im a shoe in(use smoggies league 1st year to work out why) and also the return of the NPF news as a monthly show which will be in a slightly different format and im sure will have something to appeal to most NPF members.

In general life its dawns 40th birthday on 30th September and as most of you know there is a party for her on saturday the 2nd October at Durhams county cricket ground and if you are not aware then you are more than welcome to join us - it starts at 7pm and we are looking forward to seeing you all there.

Well sat here typing while the footy is on and dont look too good for the syndy!!!!!!!!!!

headed down to Teeside for the "freeroll sat for the £550 Coral Masters main event me Mrs Stumpy and Craig "big stumpy" newton.The game was a free sit down 2k chips then £20 £20 £20 for 4k 4k 6k rebuys which created a massive 159 runners and 11 seats.I bought Craig in for 50%.I got to the break with 18k £20 spend with 2 dups ist one i ch rased fd allin and get there on the turn, 2nd one was aa v kk.After the break i creep up to 23k then i get moved tables and get very few spots until with about 50 left i ship with a8 called off jj no help and im gone.I head for the £2£2 plo cash tables and sit down with £100 run like god and when mrs stumpy was knocked out on the bubble (she was gutted ) I was £610 up and Craig had got his seat oh so nearly a perfect night. mtt _£20 cash + £610

I pick up Teamdobb and Roscopiko and also joined by my son big stumpy whose playing his 1st big buyin event,We arrive and meet up with other NPFers Card Guard Kid,Nutflush,Dan and Mark Trett,Chipmunk and Russ the Suit.1st table and im with Cardguard so the 1st couple of hours is spent chatting about the racing and footy and the old guy who flats a raise with a10 on a1010 42 board and villain shows aa!! wow, i say how do you just flat there he says Ive been playin along time son, I said weve only been playing 2 hours !Still about ss and get moved tables where i hit trip 2s and ch raise flop only for villain to tank fold aj on a 762 board lol.then im moved to the feature table where Rocky Gupta a very good teeside player is on his 4th bottle of wine and crushing the table until the 5th bottle tips him over the edge he had 93kish when ave was 17k.he proceeds to double up Dave Maudlin twice and me aj v his 108 he still has about 40kish when he 4bet shoves Mark Trett with 10 7 and hes out when Marks kk holds.I then lose a few chips trying to bluff Marc Foggin b on b when he hit ace on the river and then this hand i raise btton with ak Dave Maudlin calls in the bb and chs dark flop qcjh4h i ch behind ah on the turn dave chs i bet 3k he calls rvr 2c dave chs again i think about betting but dont like it and ch he shows qj ouch so now down to 11bb and find the spot to ship with j9 in the c off Teamdobb calls with aq flop qjx x j and I get a lucky dup.the night ends not long after with me 22.6k 18 left out of 91 runners.Teamdobb has 70ish,Roscopiko 70ish,Mark Trett 55ish and Craig has 54k so 5 NPFers left out of 18.had some great crack on the way home with everyone in the car still in with a chance to win 14k 1st prize.

We sit down and Im on the same table as Craig and Teamdobb and im just waiting for a spot to ship in as blinds 1k 2k then i cant wait any longer and ship q 10 utg and it gets thro then 2 hands later im sb and button raises i ship with a9 and he calls with q10 for 15.5k more flop aqj x q so gutted and head off to find Teamdobb who i knew would be gutted with himself for his exit find him just about to throw himself in front of bus haha so we head back and watch Craig crush the table and when the ft comes round he is 2nd in chips with 210k Mark is cl with 220k and Rosco has 70ish.the ft craig lost a few chips then lost flip 99 v aq.then loses more when he 4bets Rosco who ships allin and Craig folds.He ends off shipping 80k with kj and runs into aq and hes out in 6th for £2230.A little disapointing after big stack on ft but a really great effort to qualify for £40 and then ft 1st big tourney and had loads of players come upto me and say he was a nitemare to play against and he played really well.hes deffo improving fast.Rosco finished 4th and Mark was 2nd wp boys.

Been a strange last few weeks as my desire to play has been at its lowest for ages. Odd game I have played had couple of minor results in the Circus £50 Saturday game making final table then running AK into AA twice to bust out 9th and then cruising in a G final table with 4 left and ship my sb into BB who asks" Did you say all in" AA thank you and goodnight.

So the arrival of the Coral Masters Tour at Teeside helped in bringing a small twinkle in getting back into it as I decided to play the opening £200 on the Friday and then use a ticket I won on AWOP to take my seat at the main event.

Take Stumpy with me and surprised when theres only 3 down from NPF with me him and Dan Trett. Decent turn out and good tables but never really get going which tbh I didnt really want especially as Stumpy busts early but I do him the favour of grinding away to let him crush the PLO cash tables whilst I get vul late on with 15 left in couple of spots before finally busting 12th with 10 paid when shipping 22 from button into BB AK which hits.

Main event and our car of me Stumpy his son Craig who we call Big Stumpy and a late lift request from Roscopiko make an interesting quartet heading down to the smog. 91 runners and very happy with starting table and chipping away very nice from comfy position until the TD announces next BB please which happens to be me. Im taken over to table 6 which consists of Roscopiko, Big Stumpy, Dan Trett, soon joined by Mark Trett, Lee Danaher and Circus regulars "Icall" and Borat. Well all I can say is this table simply turned into the best ever table Ive been involved in. Fireworks poker, crack and piss taking of the highest calibre and too many amazing and interesting hands it would take a book to put them all down here.
Patience paid off when eventually as my stack was too close to danger zone I get the standard raise from super aggresive Big Stumpy for the cut off to re pop and I ship AK from the BB. 3 way action and AK v AJ & 22 gets there and Im back in game abit. Short time later and 4 way raised pot I make up with 56 in my BB. 66A flop makes it happy days as young lad in sb leads out which I flat the flushing board. Safe turn and as he leads again I ship and then convince him to call off with AQ. Well above average stack now and the fun & frolics are brought to a halt as our table is broke up and Im moved across to be sat between Stumpy and Dave Maudlin with Mark Trett also joining our table. Still fireworks at this table as Teeside regular Rocky Gupta is stacked up big but on his 5th or 6th bottle of wine and absolutely smashed and causing mayhem with his huge bets. He eventually donates these to Mark Trett ignoring Marks 3 bet and Rockies ship is welcomed by the sight of KK.
Enjoying table although not that active till I decide to open with As7s into Marks BB. Flop of 10 9 rag and I cb Marks ck which he calls. Very tasty 8s hits the turn and I get check raised by Mark. I give myself a get out card when I count my stack and elect to just call but wasnt going away if Mark had shipped me. River brings the beautiful 2s giving me the nut flush and Mark announces all in flipping over 88.
Stacked now in a position to be able to get involved more but few orbits later make a decision I may always regret. Mark Trett opens from utg or utg +1 and I 3 bet with QQ with my mind already made up this could be the biggy as I know Mark thinks I often 3 bet him light ( which I do sometimes wink wink ) Back to him and he insta ships. Make crucial error now of over thinking it having Mark narrowed down to such a small range hands with his all in move and knowing how he so much wants back to back wins I decide to fold. Megga big style regret now as winning that hand gives me huge chip lead on a relatively passive table in good position.
Eventually finish day 1 on 69k in about 5th or 6th position and come back to re draw table that I cudnt of picked better myself.
Quiet start for me though very diff for Young Stumpy as he starts how I expected opening anything he can and re raising any sign of weakness. I open mid with 9d9c but as per norm Young Stump 3 bets me from the BB and I decide to peel a flop although in hindsight all things considered its an easy fold at this stage. Flop comes 823 with 2 clubs and I quickly have a brainfart and ship in for Young Stump to think for short time before calling with JJ. No miracle saviour and Im 1st out on day 2 in 18th spot. Never have I so wanted to simply get away but not having my car as came down with Stumpy I go for a walk to try and calm myself down as Im so annoyed with myself. On my return Im joined by Stumpy Senior who has been taken out in harsh circumstances after picking his spot well and we help each other calm down and then rail the 3 lads left in Roscopiko, Mark Trett and Young Stumpy. All 3 make final table before Young Stumpy busts in 6th, Rosco goes in 4th and Mark amazingly gets heads up with the same guy he was up against last year in Dom Mahoney before going out in 2nd place for another amazing result.

Obviously from a personal point of view I was totally gutted more so by my bad decisions that proved crucial again but over the moon for the other lads.

Young Stumpy Craig Newton has an amazing all round game to him and is so difficult for anyone to play against and will have a bright future at it if he can only listen to his dads sensible and helpful approach he is trying to install in him for other life skills. Being young and daft at the moment hopefully will not hinder this.

Roscopiko really impressed me again with his all round game and win win approach and hes got such a good poker brain and simply only needs to control his self destruct button he can from time to time press

As for Mark Trett, well what can you say after another huge result. Played with him most of day 1 and its the most and longest Ive ever been on the same table as him. I also watched him closely on my exit and the lad has a superb approach to it all and best of luck to him with more big results absolutely nailed on certain in the future. Gentleman on and off the table and deserves all the success hes had. If Coral dont offer him another sponsored package I for one will be most surprised considering how hes flew their flag this year with his approach and obviously another year full of results in their tour and leading the money earnings from it.

Finally outside of the weekend and as I write this update its megga well done and good luck to Andy " Brenos" Brennan from the NPF who is one of the nicest and grounded young lads you could meet who has made final table of the English poker Open down in London with a top prize of £230k to the winner. Go get em son and run as well today please as you did yesterday ............ especially with my small % in ya weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Back from 2 weeks in corfu lazed round the pool and ate and drank it was bliss, took the laptop and i played a little plo cash and mrs stumpy played some sngos on the nightime while i was watching the footy.made a small profit on the poker but won about £400 betting on the football which i dont usually bet on.been grinding the sngos since i got back and had 9 winning seshes then 4 losing sessions for a small profit.

last live game was circus £50 game i was dealing and i hardly played a hand because i hardly had a hand until

1,raised 8s9s bb calls flop q107 i cbet bb ships im priced in and make the bb has q 10 turn j and i move upto 9k.

2,move tables and ship 55 utg with about 15bb gets thro

3,shorty ships for 5k gets reshipped im sb with ak and make the call 76 v jj me ak and buzz deals me a nice ace and im upto 16k.

4,utg +1 rases 3k gets flatted and i ship 1010 flatter makes the call with 33 i hold im now upto 36k

5,shorty ships 5k teamdobb reships 26k i make the call with qq v utg 57 teamdobb 66 a nasty 6 on the river and im down to 8k and im out not long after in about 14th out of a 80 runners

Its the coral masters at teeside this weekend so going down on friday to play the £200 event and saturday the £500 main event.

I was driving into work at 730am on the sunday morning of the final round of the open golf, i had tried to get the day off as its 1 of my favourite sporting events but they couldnt cover my job so im driving along scotswood road and theres a guy with a liverpool top on carrying a bush radio(the big old fashioned ones) on his shoulder and a golf club? now what goes thro the guys mind when he gets up? I will just pop down to the shops for me tabs and sunday sport, i know i will take me radio and its about a 180 yards that will be a 4 iron unless the the 4 iron was to defend against muggers after his bush ipod.

I get my break at darlington and im watching oosthuizen walking the open, a couple of darlington drivers come in and say fukin golf its shit blah blah, then one of them says do you know theres more people in scotland killed by golf balls than guns! i say what they loading there shotguns with titliests now?

Only played 3 live mtts in the last couple of weeks the £10 rebuy twice and the circus £20-£20 no cashes ran bad twice and played shit in the other one.

Online finally get to ft on full tilt again in the $33g ko $24 buyin was 4-9 and i raise on the button with qd 10d sb flatted a 1/3 of the chips with a9o flop a dd and i brick.then i reship d/r from utg and he calls with aj and hits i had 66 i finished 8th for $614 plus $28 for the knockouts gutted as over $7k up top.

Find it gets harder and harder to blog these days for whatever reason. Think all bloggers go through it and especially poker players.

Seems to me the poker scene is at a strange time at this moment although it may just be me. Totally restricting my playing with online virtually non existent and live play mainly been for social meets although I have been trying to be more selective with certain games. Been trying to schedule a range of better value and bigger buy in games of which theres plenty around with casinos bending over backwards to get players through their doors but when the game arrives its getting too often I seem to find something else to do instead of playing that poker game. One game I did get my eye on was a leg of the Spanish Poker Tour organised by SuperEuropoker being held in Mallorca over a period which landed on my birthday so after suggesting to my Mrs we needed a quick weeks break to the sun to chill and relax and celebrate my birthday we arrived in Mallorca at one of our favourite hotels situated in our favourite area of Mallorca called Puerto Portals.

Absolutely love the village where the hotel is situated and after doing alot of searching a few years ago to buy property in Mallorca which we decided against due to various reasons we still have not altered our opinion that this area would be the only area we could possibly buy anything.

Casino where the tournie was being played is on the other side of Magaluff so decided as we had a car and after being advised it was a little bit off the beaten track by a local resisdent then I took a run over there to check the place out. Absolute doddle to find and at a maximum was only a 10/15 min drive there from our location in Portals. OK sorted so relax and chill around the hotel pool, the local village restaurants and a couple of the local pubs. One of my best mates from Lancs has had family connections here for years and they have a couple of apartments in Portals and we had arranged to meet up with his mother who was over for a long weeked to celebrate her birthday on the 23rd which is the day before mine. What a lady she is and you will simply not meet a 74 year old like this who looks absolutely amazing for her age and has the attitude and live life to the full attitude that puts many younger people to absolute shame. Shes an absolute pleasure to be in the company of and all you do is have a laugh every minute with her. This was doubled up by her being with her best mate who is as equally amazing for her age loaded with an absolutely amazing past book of interesting and amazing stories from her very full and action packed life.
Decide to play Day 1A so drive over in plenty of time to register and get there to find the place very much alive with plenty of people there. After being directed where to register and pay and placing my money down Im told sorry Sir we are full!!!! or as the lady said in her spanish accent "we are Foooool sir!!!!" Fuck I think and after registering for Day 1B and leaving to go back to my hotel to meet up with the Mrs a great piece of fortune took place. We go down to the local pub in the village of which I know the owner due to my mate introducing me when he moved to the island from his village in Lancs and meet up with my mates mother who has just arrived with her friend. She informs us we have been invited upto Steves barbecue at his hillside villa which is on that night. Omg what a night we had with an absolute superb location and hospitality and great company and stories flowed all night. This was all topped off with myself my wife and my mates mother and friend finishing it off down on the Marina watching the rich n famous ( was told Frank Lampard was around but never saw him) drinking a bottle of Cava totally pissed and the people around us all giggling and listening in to the amazing tales these 2 drunken mature women were coming out with from their very coloured and amazing pasts. Super night!!!

Eventually I get my arse on a seat to play some poker when I take my place the following night and day1B of the tournament at what I can only describe from a venue and organisation point of view as simply amazing. The room we were playing in was amazing and set out superb. Stage area with updaters and TV coverage and tables layed out that created a great atmosphere and plenty of space and very very professionally presented. Tables decked out in high quality glass and cutlery and draped in white linen for the latter dinner that was provided were behind the poker area and when the dinner buffett was presented I was nothing short of gob smacked to be honest. Amazing display and choice of food superbly presented like a Kings banquet.

Got off to a good steady start and Im not going to bore you all with hand to hand stuff but quickly moved my chips well above chip average and maintained it during the early levels until our table broke shortly after dinner. I was sat next to a very nice Spanish guy on my left who I even shared my dinner with and although he spoke very little English he came across as a very nice guy although he did seem very very nervous at the table and had made soem very dubious plays and had got lucky twice with KJ sucking out on AA at the river when it was pretty obvious his top pair Jack was never in front yet still wanted to get all his chips in with it and was well covered on the 1st occassion. This guy eventually went onto win the tournie for just under 30k Euro.

Suppose you gotta have luck like that to take something like this down and good luck to him as like I have said he seemed a very nice genuine bloke. One of the players at my 1st table impressed me very much and I was involved in a few very interesting pots with him which I really enjoyed and came out good with although the guy was to be the one who eventually took me out later on.
Table move and bad table with me in bad position to some really big stacks and I was glad to see that table broke up after losing a chunk of my chips with some badly timed moves and a couple of bad decisions.
My 3rd and last table

Table 3 and I get seated with the impressive player from my 1st table sat on my right and although he didnt have a huge stack he was constantly adding to his stack on a graduale build and seemd very comfortable and where he was at in every hand he played. My above average stack went to below average stack with another couple of mistakes involving bad re raises which I was forced to fold by people moving all in over the top of me and I found myself getting closer to dangerous waters after being so comfy for alot of the tournie. I get double up when blind on blind and yet another raise from this Demitri guy to my right I shove with QJ and after a long tank me makes the call and tables J10!!! Jack on the flop and no 10 sees me back comfy again. I lose a pot when guy gets there on river when up n down and then exit just short of making day 2 with another bad mistake. With 21 left and play stopping when we get to 18 players (we are over 8 hours in)I raise utg with 10 10 but in error I throw 2 x 5k chips onto table with 2 x 1k chips meaning to make it 4k yet table 12k. Its folded all the way around to the BB Demitri who throws his all in chip into middle and I basically feel committed now to the hand although feel I called far too quickly and really do know Im behind with my holdings. He tables KK and no miracle for me although a JQ flop did give me hope. Go out in 21st place and drive back to hotel very disappointed with alot of my latter and important decisions as I really should of at least cashed in this.
Great tournament tbh and superbly ran and presented. Anyone get a chance to play one of these then do it as I guarantee youll really enjoy it and be impressed.

End of the holiday is topped off as we celebrate our birthdays on a beach side restaurant with a few of my mates mothers friends and we sat and got pissed with good food and great company and topped off a great weeks break and re charge of my batteries.
Only downside was the "Sleazzy" Jet cattle truck flight back home which was both uncomfortable but delayed and full of fkn Magaluff charvers intent on upsetting each other Hey ho you cant have it all I suppose.

A new game at the G you get 1k chips unlimited rebuys 2k gteed and only 35 runners so an overlay of £600 I never got going and got it in with 2nd pair v roscopikos top trips and I was out early.
Joined the cash table and this hand occurred,utg raises to £3 blinds 25p-50p 2 callers so I call on the button with j10 off, flop 89 q rainbow,utg bets £6 1 caller so I call turn 3s putting 2 spades on board, utg bets £8 andrizu ships for £15 I call then utg ships for £19 more I call and turn over my straight ,utg has qq andrizu has fd they both brick the river and I win,I start talking to the geek and when I look back hes shipped the pot to qq man I say whoah I won with the straight, the dealer has the 5 community cards in his hand so he places back on table and sees i have won with the straight and asks the qq man to pass the chips back but he refuses, i say you knew you had lost why accept the chips he says yeah I knew but there over the line now so tough, he asks for a ruling and after a while looking at the cameras they rule in my favour but he still wont give the chips back, so they bar him and escort him out but let him take my money.

I was fuming but the manager says I will probably get it back but will have to go to higher management. This was a real struggle totally card dead won a few pots by isolating a serial limper then c-betting any flop got down to 2 tables when chinese guy ships from sb im bb with a-3 we both had about 12bbs so called and he had k7 no help for him and im now back in it,i get a nice rush of cards and move up to 50k with out showing a hand, make the ft with 50k win a couple of hands until down to 4 players we take £300 each and play on for another £200 I get hup and we split it so eventually make £400.

Even less runners than last week 25 runners so an overlay of over 1k wow, got to the ft but went out in 6th for zero as only 4 payed

Met teamdobb at the bar and he gets the coronas in we end up drinking all day and im well served by the ft couple of hands I remember getting there with was trip 2s v mulhuzz and 1010 v hamids aq only got 20k so not much play for me but raise and commit but I sat patient and never got 1 hand worst ft ive ever played eventually shipping 97 utg called off mulhuzzs 1010 and a lad called boris jj, who is the spitting double of the bloke off the barclaycard ad when he runs and runs.I move on to the cash table which was a bad idea and played bad untill I reraised utg raiser with aa who flatted for £5 with 95 flop 998 and I lose ,ended off £100 down.

13-7-10 circus £20+£20 2k g 50 runners

I had 23k at the break and cruising until i get kk utg i raise to 1100 donkey reraises to 3.5k then dan trett flats with only 7k back now this is screaming out aa but I just couldnt fold kk and go allin donkey calls 99 and dan calls aa. Donkey hits 9 on the river and dan wins small side pot. A couple of hands later I raise the button with a7 bb calls flop a10 9 i cbet and bb makes small reraise which tbh if I hadnt lost with kk i would of folded but tilted off my last 7k and called he shows a10 and im out. Played cash while waiting for mrs stumpy and won a £130 while mrs stumpy does a 4 way chop for £350 so not a bad night after all.

Online only played 140 sngos since I come back from vegas which is partly due to played more live and also been back to work. Stats are 140 ave prof +4 ave stake $19 roi 24% +$624 just need to put the effort in and play a lot more. mtts played 20 had 2 deep runs in the 42k g on tilt but finished 50ish and 36th out of 3k runners for -$19, also been playing on betfair ft a couple of mtts but finished 7th and 8th for peanuts but enjoyed the smaller fields but ob money not as good.

Recovered now from Vegas and its amazing how as ya get older the longer it takes to recover from jet lag stuff. Seems Ive spent last couple of weeks trying to keep my eyes open and get my sleep patterns back to normal. As you know from last post I wrote about my son Scott taking down a Binnions Classic but what I just found out was some bad news as well!!!! Taught my kids when going away to have ya main 3 things ya need and repeat them to yourself before leaving. Tickets, Passport & Money. With these 3 things ya sorted no matter what ya leave behind but I need to add another thing now to our Scotts list. Tickets, passport, Money and any Poker Trophy you may win !!!!!!!!! He only went and left his glass trophy memento in his hotel room and despite being in contact with the Aria it hasnt been handed in by housekeeping and seems its lost for good now.

Zero stuff online and totally not interested tbh with it and locally on the live scene played the Circus £50, £500 added on Tuesday and despite a good table which included Dan Trett and a good start getting nice double up with QQ v JJ getting it in on a Q 9 10 flop that makes quads on the river I bust out in somewhat disappointing circumstances when in a 4 way limped pot I find AKss in BB and make it 1200 on 150/300. Fold to sb who has just arrived at table with big stack who as expected knowing him makes the call. A sweet looking K44 flop and I just call 2k flop and turn bet but river Q gets a 10k bet dropped in by sb. After big tank and knowing player well I make the call due to him being well known for bully and mad bets but Im shown 45 for his set and Im crippled. Bad bad call from my point of view but went with how I felt which was badly wrong. Ship my last few chips next orbit utg to try n get max value and Im delat 10 7. Player mid makes it 3k saying "Ill give you some protection" which it did and he flips KJ. Flop of KK10 didnt help much lol and turn of other K firmly nailed my coffin lid.

Give the Friday G game a miss as Im playing the Saturday G Championship of GUKPT and it proved unreal value with a £1000 overlay on their £2k guaranteed prize which is unbelievable to be honest. Good crack as normal was Dan but cards and his moves certainly didnt flow for him and he seemd to be very very loose and caught too often with several of his moves. I was very very active and doing Ok but then got far to greedy in 2 hands. Flop top 2 in one and let guy get there with his flush then flop nut straight 3 way and once again initial raiser gets there with flush of 78hh on a AQJ board leading all the way. I eventually bust on my BB when guy raises from co and I ship about 9/10 bbs with AKhh for initial raiser to call with not that much more behind holding the mighty JQ off. Obv binks his Q and Im out too early for my liking.
Well done to Mulhuzz who went on the get 2nd place form our table and eventual winner was also from our original table.

Ive had a few beers and decide to play the 8.00 triple chance for £20 quid and have a good laugh with Junior Bomber from the Sensations. Crazy table and full of jokes n wind ups but run bad twice losing 2 big hands to leave me on my last 3k. 2nd loss was talking guy to get it all in holding JJ aipf v my KK which he does but then turns the case Jack to cripple me. Go on mad ship over many raises then and win a few flips and Im back in it. Eventually on a yo yo final table I take Bomber out shipping my similar sized stack into his BB with A2 and he snaps me with AJ obv. I luckbox my 2 and tell him Ill win now. An hour later and I take it down all for a poor £180 from small field but nowt better than getting another win under ya belt.
4 prizes were being paid and its amazing how despo some people are. 180. 135, 95 & 45 were the payouts and 5 handed the low stack was trying to negotiate another prize. He then comes out with the amazing crack of " Come on man be fair even a tenner will do me" Unreal unreal.
Big tip here for the G Casino in Newcatle for their poker room,,,,,,,,,,,, GET YA FOOKING AIR CON SORTED OUT. It was like playing in a sauna and so so so uncomfortable.

Big well done to a guy we met in Vegas in several of the comps we played in Mark McCluskey as hes just returned and took down the Coral Masters in Liverpool which us Newcastle lads seem to do well in. I checked out his Hendon Stats and wow very very impressive CV matey. Big well done to you.

Finally decided I need another quick holiday so myself and the Mrs have booked a nice relaxing weeks holiday in a lovely hotel weve been to before in Portals Nous in Mallorca. One week of catching some sun and relaxing will do me fine flying out the 20th July till the 27th July..................... oh and just by coincidence theres a 500 euro Poker comp at the Gran Casino Mallorca during our time there. Landed into Vegas on the Monday afternoon and as it taxied round I couldnt believe how close the airport was to the strip which looked ok through the day but it wasnt till the night time it was lit up in all its glory.

The first night just enjoyed a few drinks and a meal.

Day 2- Played the 1pm Aria game $175 buyin, really good structure and got to the final table but was short and pushed allin with A4 got called off JJ no help and out in 9th no cash.

Played 1-2 PLO in the Aria and made $80 then went back to the Nugget and played 1-2 and won $220.

Day 3- $1500 WSOP- arrived at the Rio a bit late and was in the que to buyin, when I asked a guy if you could use your card to buyin, no cash only FFS had to walk for miles to find a ATM then card wouldnt work. I ended off having to pay at the cage to use my card, eventually buying in 1 hour late then was told all entries after 1pm wont start till 2pm when blinds will be 75-150 and starting stack was 4.5k.

I finally start playing and maintain my stack with a few raises getting through then moved tables a couple of big stacks on it.

First hand I pick up is 10-10 I raise and get shipped on, no way i can fold so make the call V QQ, 1st card 10 and I get lucky double up. Then in big blind AK button shoves allin, I call v A3, hit K and now up to 18k. Seat 3 makes it 1900 bigstack seat 6 flats, folds to me and I tank ship allin for a call off bigstack as after watching him play he could only flat with AQ or AJ. Seat 3 tanks for ages and I actually fall asleep till my neighbour nudges me saying hes called, I flip my cards over just as the dealer does the flop Q 1st card and he has AQ shame as there was 450ish left, 243 payed and this was 31k pot when av was 18k. Thanks to DC and juicy oranges who came over to rail and took me for a drink to get over the disappointment.

Day 4- + $160

Day 5- Played the Golden Nugget PLO 8 MTT but missed two massive draws and went out early. MTT -$235 Cash - $450.

One cash hand I had trip4 check raised to $120 on flop then $270 allin on turn and he called with a flush draw and he hit flush on river.

Day 6- cash +$530

Day 7- Binnions $210 out earlyish after a couple of coolers. Ac5c flop A8c3c woman bets strong into it I call turn Jh she pots it again call river 5 I bet into her and she flats with 88 LOL she said she was worried I had AA. I pushed allin over raiser with 88 but ran into KK behind me and out.

Alot of the NPFs played this so we hit the bar and decided on a Tapas place in the Plaza which was recommended and it was superb.We got back to Binions and railed Scott Collins to victory for just under 5k and a nice trophy,I was over the moon for Scott who does a lot of work for the forum even though he has become a bit disinterested in poker.

Day 8- Played ceasers palace $225 great structure and place to play, I was going ok till 50 left out of 200 i get KK button my room mate Gaz Walker raises to 5k german woman min raises to 10k I shove Gaz folds AQ german woman calls with A10 and A first card FFS.

Day 9 Golden Nugget $235 another great structure and a decent 78 runners,I got upto 5ok without any showdowns or hassle. Then I raise with Ad3d 1 caller flop 8d9Jd I cbet and he calls turn 4d i check and he goes allin I make the easy call hes drawing dead with A10. Then this guy Poker Monkey gets moved to my table hes been making a lot of noise and straight away he upsets the table by calling 1 players wife a cocaine snorting tramp and another he calls a clown, he gets a warning off the TD which calms him down a bit. I reraise an Irish fella ive met before in Aspers and he says he cant fold he shows A10 I have AsKs flop comes 7s6s3 turn 8, at this point Monkey is doing a running commentary saying he needs 9 or 10 now, the river is a 9 but of spades to give me the nutflush, I hardly move a muscle as Monkey is going nuts until I say nutflush, wow you are my hero so cool, a few hands later I raise after looking at 1 A Monkey ships for 50k more, im like FFS until I look at other card A, he has Aj and I take him out. We move to final table im second in chips, with 140k first hand I play on final table is JJ I raise get flatted flop is 983 I cbet guy ships on me but I cant fold he shows AA, well played him. from then on I try to pick a spot but couldnt get my chips in until 7 left I ship A3 and get called off AK and im out 7th for $726. I played really well but was so disappointed with the end result.

Day 10- Played the Golden nugget again same MTT $235 but to be honest I couldnt get into it after the disappointment of night before. I went onto the cash tables and won $465.

Over all it was a great holiday with a little bit of luck could have cashed big but wasnt to be, pleased to be up $1k on cash only playing 5 sessions. Had a great laugh with CardGuard our designated driver, his side kick Stevie Sensation and my room mate Gaz walker who were all stopping in the Golden Nugget then had a couple of good nights when also joined by Looseman Mugpunt, knerrad, Willy, Teamdobb and Scott.

Funnys from the holiday

1- Sir Cardguards driving on the first day when he was really tired nearly hitting a parked car, hitting the kerb and going through 2 red lights.

2- Walking through a shopping precinct when a strange man walks up to sensh shakes his hand then rubs his arse Sensh was furious and was adamant he was trying to pick his pocket the trouble was he had no back pockets.

3- Adam who come on the same flight as Gaz was sitting on my cash table when guy sits down and loses two buyins in 2 hands, Adam says to guy its not your lucky day mate, guy says thanks for that CAPTAIN OBVIOUS!!!.

4- When deciding about where to eat Sensh said he doesnt like buffets as the service is shit.

5- On the Aria cash table gaz was ordering a mohito everytime she brought his drink he had about 7 in an hour i was trying vain to keep up in coronas but failed.

6- In ceasers palace MTT an old guy said it was time to eat his candy bar and then procceded to take a flickknife out of his pocket just to open his candy bar the whole table was gobsmacked. The old guy says dont worry I dont use it on players unless they give me a bad beat.

Sat 26th June just back from vegas and I had £300 GUKPT seat that i had won, got a decent first table with 2cats and Dan trett among the ones i knew, was doing ok until seat 3 makes it 900 blinds 150-300 im on the button with kk so flat for two reasons seat 3 has 6k so I want him to commit on the flop also hopefully someone in blinds decides to squeeze big blind asks seat 3 how much he has then says allin I have 10k so after seat 3 folds I make the easy call big blind has AQ and the A hits the flop and im out. Mrs Stumpy ended up 13th just missing out on the money in her biggest buyin toourny yet, not a bad effort.

Vegas all over for another year.

Arrive after un comfy Virgin Atlantic flight into the plush surroundings of the newly opened Aria 5 star hotel. No expense spared in the building of this place with high tec design all around it. Nice rooms with loads of gadgets and card room is 1st class although not the biggest which does have serious advantages.

Had put together a schedule of 5 selected games and staked 50% of the cost out to interested parties on the NPF. Make the Aria cardroom our general meet up place and play the 7.00 nightly with a $120 buy in and an average field of 70 runners. Good thing about this is you soon got to know exactly time it finished which was spot on and the valets and service of the cardroom was superb. Valets were obviously picked for their attributes which were well in view and drinks flowed a plenty.

Play the Aria game on the 1st night and get stack early and add to it all game and am sitting pretty 16 left when the effects of several Coronas kick in and I raise with the in famous Az bo to be shipped on but lack of sleep and being drunk I give the guy my apologies if I suck out on him and make the crazy call. Gone but slept well that night after the long journey.

Play the same tournie the following night and make last 6 and chop it up with big chip leader taking extra with rest of us around $700.

200 plus runners but never really get going eventually busting mid 60 s

2: Rio 18th June WSOP Bracelet Event 34 Seniors Event $1000 NL

168/3124 for $2601. Lose 20% of stack 2nd hand of tournie JJ v KK on 9 high flop. Lose 3 sets over sets and grind small stack till double up late in day 1. Day 2 cruise to money playing aggresive into money limpers but after table break face big pressure from 3 big stacks and awful cards see antes eating away until mid pos limper and I ship 10 7 from sb for him to call with 99. 9 flop seals it but gutshot hope on turn but no miracle. Well pleased to make my 2nd consecutive WSOP Seniors cash and have already been fully bought in to next years event with deal done between Cardguard & Stumpy.

3: Binnions 20th June $210 NL

Lose couple early pots but very card dead and bust early level 5 when limp utg QQ for BB to raise. I re pop but he puts me all in and Im out to AA

4: Golden Nugget 22nd June $235 NL

Really enjoyed this tournie and got vvul at crucial stage 12 left paying 9. Double up with small pair to get playable stack against Ace caller then lose JJ v 77 AIPF for big pot as he hit 7 on flop. Ship over initial raiser with AQdd for him to call holding 10 10 which flops set.

5: Caesars Palace NL Deep Stack 20th June

Played the Caesars deep stack and was my most enjoyable game tbh sitting same table as Knerrard and 2 mates of Jack Ellwood. 200 plus runners and 60 odd left get stack above average when ship 20 bbs over initial raiser with 99 for him to snap off with AK. River Ace sealed it

Small return for backers which I rounded up giving them their stakes back so at least no loss there for the support.

Poker highlight of trip had to be my son S2C Scott taking down the Binnions game which all of our party played and as we got knocked out we propped the bar up and got slightly merry. Followed that with a superb tapas meal at the Plazza and when we returned Scott was losing huge hand on the bubble but was stacked enough to cope with the bad beat. Eventually he makes it down to hup and tbh crushed his opponent with some excellent poker.
Great scenes and atmosphere when he took it down for glass trophy and a cool $5000, not bad for someone who hardly plays anymore and lost his desire for playin the game.

All in all an excellent trip with some great people and some results to match as well with Vegas a lot busier than I expected from everything Ive been reading.

p.s. Please please please Virgin Atlantic get ya fingers out and update ya planes on this route. So so old and showing a lot of wear and tear now.

Get back and play the Newcastle GUKPT Summer Series Main Event but donk out in level 3 playing the fatal Az bo hand again. Raise mid and call a re raise to a flop of Q77 which eventually gets all chips in the middle but Im never ahead all hand as Dave Maudlin milked full value holding QQ.

Last friday picked teamdobb up and headed to Aspers for the friday £20 f/o 109 runners so not a bad pot for the small buyin but it is a strange mix of players. 1st table consisted of seat 1,a tight steady player but pretty easy to read 2, the table pro haha talked about every hand and gave his pro view on how it was played 3,young lad who might as well of had his 2 cards turned over 4,chinese calling every hand and always going to run out of chips 5,french kid who ob bluffed his chips off, in 2nd level v seat 4 who called rvr allin with 22 when board read 10 8 5 j 3 weeeee, 6 limp fold or limp call till no chips left 7,same as seat three 8,chinese kamikaze girl who could and did turn over anything 9,a very strong and good player 10, me, the dealer. The only thing missing is the drunken scotsman whos usually on every table, I think aspers have a cupboard full of em and get them out every Friday to piss people off.

I was going along ok until the pro seat 2 limped in I made up blinds with qj flop q 7 3 I ch pro bets, all fold to me and I rerase him allin he tanks then says I think im beat but I call showing q 10,I put the 10 on the river and im now shortstack, I then go allin 3 times and dup when best hand holds everytime then we are moved tables shame but im now on 12k evertime I raise it gets through but no dup until I shove khjh into aq k flop a turn and im out in about 26th.

Mrs stumpy gets to ft but runs jj into qq and ends up 10th for £50.

I made £90 on the cash tables while waiting for Mrs stumpy so not a bad night.

Sunday I went to circus with big stumpy my son craig who I bought in, its £20 £20 night 2k pot my table was a nitemare with 3 calling station on it great if you hit but shit if you miss all night so was an early night for me, went on cash table won £17 and game split up,so dealt 1 of last 2 tables and watched big stumpy play some great poker he got to the ft with a big stack then lost ak v aq and then kk v 55 flop 5 543 turn 2 rvr a for split pot then shoved a 6 into bb jj and went out in 4th for £190 we split the winnings for a small profit.

Tuesday was back to circus for £20 £20 game with mrs stumpy and big stumpy I got off to a good start and was comfy until I raised with jj a loose player reraises i called for a safe flop but flop was a93 villain cbets and I fold he shows aa then I raise with 99 get reraised I fold he shows jj then next hand i raise jj and young kid who had been very tight minrerases I fold again and he shows kk ffs after all this im down to 10bb and looking for spot to shove get j 10 utg and shove only to get called off aj flop 89q weeee dup then I raise aj get flatted off young tight player flop a 10 7 I bet small he reships with kq I call nd hold now im sitting with a decent stack on my left is Mark Trett who has a big stack who I gave a lot of walks to but when blinds went up I started raising more but he seen right through this and I could see he was getting itchy to reship me but in the end he kept himself in check howay Mark you know I only play aa kk haha, in the meantime mark had raised and been reshipped and called by mainly been priced in and his big stack had dropped to 25k so he shipped his 10bb with 84 and Lewis in bb called with 66 and mark gets there with runner runner straight ouch.1 make it to ft as does mrs stumpy who is cl with 135k wow.mrs stumpy finished 6th after losing ak v qq hit k then turn was q then b on b she flops up nd down v top pair no kicker pushes allin over his flop bet bt villain couldnt lay it down and she missed and was out for £100. I pushed ss with j10 v k8 no good and I went out 5th for £120.

Onlines been pretty quiet due to working and playing live until bigstumpy ran deep in superstack and he woke me with about 40 left and we ended up 5th for $1200 ish when we got it aipf with ak v aq who hit flush shame as it was $4.7k up top would of been nice for vegas and bigstumpys hols to shagaluf.

SO its my first trip to vegas on monday weeeeee going with about 20 npfers cant wait. Im playing rio $1500 bracelet event 16th june,binnions $210 nl,golden nugget $235 nl and venetion deepstack one tiiiiiiiiiime plz.

The week before Vegas

Yo bloggers its only one week now till my regular annual pilgramage to the bright lights of Las Vegas and the 2010 WSOP.

As I did last year I have put together a mini schedule of events to play as I find it helps me focus better and have a better approach to the games than just going and playing whatever game I wander across.

These are the games I will be playing:

1: Golden Nugget 16th June Mini WSOP Series Seniors Event $240 NL
2: Rio 18th June WSOP Bracelet Event 34 Seniors Event $1000 NL
3: Binnions 20th June $210 NL
4: Golden Nugget 22nd June $235 NL
5: Caesars Palace Or Venetian date TBA $340 NL Deep Stack ( deffo Venetian )

Really looking forward to the 1st game on that list to be honest as I found last year the Golden Nuggett was a great place to play within their Grand Hall which they use for these events. Atmosphere is great and its the 1st time they have reduced their Seniors age limit down to 50 inline with the official WSOP entry age.
WSOP sees me return to try and improve on last years 97th place finish and then 3 more local hotel tournaments see me conclude my trip.

Staying at the newly opened Aria hotel which is within the newest complex on the strip and only in Vegas can you stay in 5 star luxury for less than £60 per room per night.

All in all theres over 20 from the NPF travelling across this year and should anyone go deep in anything then Im sure the rail we be awesome and atmosphere electric. Some great people and characters going over and just hope one of us pulls off a great result to match.

Lead up to Vegas has been very very low key tbh mainly due to my total zero interest in poker for whatever reason Im not totally sure. Force myself to play the monthly Circus £50 with £500 added and only went to meet a guy from the forum who had made a bit of a name for himself with some of his crazy posts known as Machine. Ive staked him into a few low buy ins on Poker stars and he always seems to get me a return so was looking forward to meeting him in real life. Sitting having a bit of pre game crack with a couple of the forum lads and a quiet un assuming lad wanders across and introduces himself as "The Machine" I do the honours of introducing him to as many forum members as I could before taking my seat in the far corner of the room right next to the noisy Chinese "dominoe". Decent table that includes James Browning, Joe Peel and Mark Trett sat directly to my left. Dont go anywhere with my stack mainly due to gutter shit crap being dealt to me and a couple of hands that get there against me. Have some fun with the "Az Bo" hand a couple of times and lose 20% of my stack on the last hand before the break when a guy gets there with his flush on the river and Im already in shove fold land when I come back from the break.
I ship AK to an early raise and he flips AQ on his committed call. Q in the window and Im out my seat but I turn the K and make the straight on the river to double up. I ship again to double through and with my knowledge of this fast moving tournie I know I need at least another double up to stay in with a chance and when 2 limpers come into pot and I find 88 in the cut off I ship in to find girl to my left in the vacated Mark Trett seat go into tank mode. Big Ace Im thinking and eventually she makes the call. QQ ffks what ya thinking about pet and she says " I thought you may have AK" !!! No help but at least out at a reasonable time of the night.

Sort of decide to not play anymore games but Stumpy convinces me its Friday night and Corona night at Aspers together with a deal to meet Gyposdog there if he gets finished from work in time. Aspers game on Fridays is great for a decent field but it also attracts a huge range of players but for £20 FO and over 100 runners its great value and you have to acdcept it for what it is. I get on same table as Mrs Stumpy but the rest of the table leaves alot to be desired. we have a young lad dealing who is very slow and not much idea about pots, I have a drunken stag do guy from Scotland on my left and 2 other lads at the table who have to ask everyhand " How much is it? is it my turn ? and take ages to make any sort of decision. 3rd bottle of Corona and doing my utmost best to stay with the game but I know Im fighting a losing battle. With still just above my starting stack of 4k and the mad drunken Jock hitting everything I look down at AK and a small stack makes it 400 to play on 50/100 with 900 behind so I move in to take him on and he duely calls and flips KQ. Q flop and no help for me. Few hands later I look down at JJ and drunken Jock limps in with one other before Chinese guy to my right moves in for 2k and I move all in for my stack of just over 3k. Drunken Jock calls now and so does the other guy. So 4 way action with 2 all ins and chance to quadruple up and the flop comes 10 2 5 rainbow. Perfecto and drunken Jock then announces "ALL IN" on his 2 way action. Guy folds and on ya backs time. 66 drunken Jock, me JJ and Chinese guy has 99. Blank turn but river 6 and its Ciao Ciao over n out. Cant be arsed now to hang around and simply walk down towrads the central station to grab a cab and go home.

Take call bit later at home from Gyposdog who eventually arrived in Aspers trying to get me to come back over and a while later he pops up on msn convincing me to play a couple of MTTs on Poker Stars. Massive fields but end up having a great laugh with him as we wind a few people up and then get into a fun convo with someone sat at our table from USA who we eventually get to sign up at the NPF by the name of "Pritzi"
Go fairly deep in a huge field but obv for crap return due to Stars structures but the main thing that came form the games was we had a greta laugh between us and actually enjoyed it. Maybe thats whats been missing from my approach and games of late and need to get back to enjoying them again with a positive mental attitude about them. Roll on Vegas and hopefully the spark I need to get back to normal.

Intended to play the Coral Masters at Leeds Gala this weekend before Vegas but have decided not to incase went deep and timing would be bad as our Newcastle flight to Gatwick is 6.30am on the Monday.

Finally incase he reads this, my son Scott is at this moment in time travelling across the USA with a party of strangers from New York to Los Angeles and then meets up with us in Las Vegas. Last time I spoke to him he was in New Orleans and hope hes enjoying himself and look forward to seeing him in Vegas

Its been a funny old week, was hoping to play loads of sngos but my hayfever has hit me harI, I wake up with a bad headache every morning then I take hayfever tablets and it clears away by dinnertime but the tablets send me to sleep by teatime so fooked either way, on top of that my knee is giving me problems and it looks like I might need another op which im not looking forward too, so I think ive been a bit down which is unlike me and ive prolly took it out of mrs stumpy, sorry pet. Edit just reread what ive just wrote and realised what a miserable ungrateful fooker I sound must be getting old, I should think mesell lucky and be grateful what ive got! kicked mesell up the arse and told me mesell to cheer up ffs.

Pokerwise it was the last league game last friday at the G, 19 runners and 4 could pip me but 3 went out early and only Dave H could beat me, he was on my table and I pushed all in with aq he pushes 77 then teamdobb joins in with 1010 I hit ace to triple up and teamdobb takes sidepot and knocks Dave out and I win the £300 summer series seat on the 26th of june.
I ended up getting knocked out b4 money but mrs stumpy finished 2nd to mrs fatfish winning £248 I moved to the cash table winning £50 mainly in 2 hands v same guy he raises to £3, blinds 25p-50p 4 callers so I call with 8h3h flop a82 he bets out £4 I can see he hates it and put him on kk, all fold to me so I call, turn 10 he bets £4 I raise to £12 and he says will you show if I fold I said nope he folds so I show him 83 and say did you have kk? nope jj oh well close. Next hand I call raise again with j10 flop j10 3 I bet out and same guy calls turn 7 I put him allin for £22 and he calls rvr 8 I show him 2 pair and he mucks deffo think showing last hand got me payed.

The league final was on Monday and I didnt feel good again and couldnt get going, eventually going out in 16th out of 39 that turned up.

The sngos I have played made a small profit until I won a $69 45s for $1,179.90 but this time I meant to enter it haha, got lucky to get to ft but played ft well with some nice moves when down to the final 3.

O,k going to go out the neet and have a good time take the tourney doon then get up tomorow and hopefully show the 3 lads who are returning for 2nd training day how to make a profit at sngos.

OMG just bought sharkscope to give their hud ago then realised I was logged in on spoonas account so in reality ive just bought spoona another months subs to sharkscope haha .

After qualifying for circus league playoff I was home within 1 hour. Limped in with KK 4 seen the flop of Q 10 6 2 clubs I bet 300 reraised by George Trett flatted by Jean so I reraised to 2k George tanks and by the way hes sqiurming he hates it but eventually calls and Jean calls. Now I know Im behind but the only hand I can put George on is 106 but would he really limp with 106? He didnt have set as Id seen him reraise with set a few hands earlier so the turn comes 7 no club, I put Jean on Q so I have a decision go allin for 6k as a bluff, 9k in the middle or give up looking back should of give tbh as George hated flop call but did call and he did the same on the turn he hits fh on rvr and im out.

Friday was at the groves for 20-10-5 game only 8 runnrs started ended up 12 in total shame really as the G trying best to get mtt sched back up and running, anyway ended up chopping hup with Roskopiko for £90 I took 1st place points for league which took me to the top of the league with 1 week 2 go 1st place is a £300 seat for the GUKPT summer series 26th of June

Tuesday night played 20-20 at circus was a real struggle and pushed allin on the bubble with KQ called off 77 hit K on rvr and made ft with 30k Mrs Stumpy finished 8th for £55.Dan Trett raised ep with QQ guy ships allin then Dans dad George ships and Dan calls AA v QQ v KQhh and yes you guessed it KQ wins with flush, live pokers rigged.
I dup with QQ after reshipping Dans raise he had K9 but priced in to call.Then I raise with KQ and Im priced in 2 call ship and Im up against AA no help.We get down to 5 players and Dan in sb raises 16.5k blinds blinds 4k 8k I have QJ cant reraise fold so its allin or call and see a flop, I decide 2 call, flop is AQ5 2hearts Dan cbets which I know hes goin 2 do 100% of the time I reship allin and he calls with 7h2h he bricks fd and Im now 130kish orbit later and Dan ships its 35k more blind 10k so I think Im ahead a lot of times here with QJ plus if I fold here I know Dans never going to stop shipping on me so next time its going to be more. Dan has J2 no 2 and I take Dan out.4 left and then this hand blind on blind sb raises bb calls flop 942 2 clubs sb goes allin 100k bb calls with A8 off sb has A7 of clubs no club and we are down too 3 players where we do a chop for £300 each.

Online in mtts had some near misses again 13th in superstack when I lost 2 races AJ v 88 then AK v 88 also 9th in another mtt when my KK was no good v AQ. Havent played many mtts as back at work so decided to play a lot of sngos played 53 on Monday and ran soo bad was -$300 then Tuesday 1st hand I play its a 3 way allin on a flop of K10 3 r I have AA v AK v Q5 turn 9 rvr J and I think oh no not again then when my 9th table pops up and Ive regged into $69 instead of $10s nd $24s best misclik of the day as I go on to finish 2nd for $770ish and end up in prof for the 2 days. Going to keep hammering the sngos and hopefully make some $$$$ for Vegas which is coming up very fast and really looking forward to that on my 1st visit.

Right then we all know im a heating engineer and currently unemployed(no job to small:))my girlfriend works so shes carrying us abit at the minute with a mortgage and two kids it can be abit of a strain. Been in this house for about 11 years now and the majority of that time Ive thought I was some sort of superfly wide bastard, out twice aweek, come in when I please, dont go shopping dont do cleaning, washing or dusting think Id hoovered twice. The girlfriend does the lot and our house is always nipping clean.
So with me being on the dole and bumming around all day I took a bold move started to take on the housework, starting off small its one washload in and a quick blast round the house with the hoover. By week two of my daily house cleaning regime im a real high rollar Ive discovered doing it to the tunes of James Brown turns me into kim and aggie on steriods its 2-3 washloads in full hoover upstairs, downstairs and staircase pulling all my best James Brown moves then its a full dust then making the beds flipping the mattresses over like Aces and finally empty the bins nearly as quick as Batesy can empty his roll. Now I wont let my girlfriend do any household chores OMG whats happening to me? dont get excited Batesy im not a queer yet.

Gets a phonecall yesterday with an offer of a weeks work maybe two doing nightshift in the town, so I had to go down the dole office at Gateshead to sign off weeeeeeeeeee (havnt had a penny yet by the way).

What an experience bit of sunshine and all the young radgis are mortal drunk shorts on tops off there some charva bird lieing facedown off her tits outside the building on my way in and on me way out theres two kids stuck into it with that bird trying to get in the middle of it was like a scene from Shameless. Anyways now Im back as the breadwinner think Ill dig the superfly pants out and get on the lash R.I.P. James Brown.

Oh aye been trawling through some poker blogs and found Fulltrettpoker a good blogpage well done the Tretts and Steve Holdens blog he seems to have run shite at Coventry but thats just the way it goes sometimes which I wont have to tell him

not been doing much tbh since the NPF Team game weekend apart from the odd forum game online and getting ready for Vegas in June. Mrs C is now out of plaster and on the mend managing on one stick now but main thing is shes up and mobile and even fine for driving her car now so can get out and about. The scar had healed great and Im sure come Vegas time she should be nearly 100% A OK.

Took in a VIP invite to the new look G opening night which ended up a very busy night but it seemed everyone was VIP !!!! Met up with a few at the bar and we decided to take in the free game upstairs in the new poker room, a free game but £3 re buy with 3000 starting stack. Ship 1st 6 hands 4 of which Im ahead but each time I get rivered so £18 down its fk it from me and wander downstairs to watch the Las Vegas Showgirls Cabaret Show until a cash game kicks off which I join.

Good table tbh with good mix on but after an hour or so and going no where Im beginning to get rather bored when Burrsss Hurrggg comes behind me and asks hows it going. Going no where I tell him and he says raise next hand without looking. I look down at 10 7 and with the new hazbo king in full swing at the forum I decide lets go. My raise is shipped all in by a stack of about £15 which I snap call to see AK. Flop is 10 7 and a weeeeeeeeee from me. Few hands later same AK guy ships all in for his last £9 and I look down at 10d7s so re ship to £20 to isolate. Doesnt work as bot end of table guy calls. Its checked down to river where 4 spades on the board give me flush to the 7s which is good as AK is tabled by all in guy again and caller guy mucks. Fuck me just gotta love this 10 7 mullarkey and when Indian guy on my right ships all in pre for £15 Ive got 10 7 again and make the call in 2 way pot. He flips A3 and flop comes A 3 7. His smile is soon wiped away when another 7 hits the turn and the pot is mine again. I eventually leave £180 up but with a new found love.

Take in the Friday G game to try and pick up some late league points and make their freeroll £5 game thats coming up. Very very disappointing in only 19 runners which tbh is a total joke with the effort the G have made recently and hopefully not a sign of the times. Chug along nice and take the add on at the break to give an above average stack but 1st lap after break I raise up in early position with 44 to get 5 callers and lead on a meaty looking 46 A board to be re raised by what I take to be a big Juicey Ace holder. Rest fold back to me so ship it to be snapped off by 66 and ciao baby ciao. Simply aint folding a set on that flop in that game.
Look down to see a very interesting looking cash table which although it includes some proppa cash sharks in Buzz, Farmer Dave & James Howard it still contained a few ready to part with some cash. I sit down to enjoy the craic which was great apart from Bling Billy hitting evry hand he played and was obv the table were after his rather large pile. Table improves massive when Faetzy sits down in a pissed state and tbh from there on he had me wetting myself with his antics and patter. The kid is a human comedy genius and I simply love being at his table. Win a few , lose a few, play some hands good and some fkn awful but am in decent profit but the old hazbo scoops again playing it 4 times and 4 times a winner weeeeeeeeee. Leave through tiredness tbh but about £100 up.

Saturday and we have arranged a £30 satellite at Bannisters HQ with a 10 seater sng for the £300 Main Event at Newcastle GUKPT Summer Series in June. Very strong table to be honest with 8k stack and 20 min levels. Cardguard gets there late and proceeds to lose twice in quick succession leaving him 2200 from his original 8k stack. I look down at 10h7h in 2nd pos and raise to 3 x BB for Russ the Suit to call seat 3 and CG ships his last 2200 in. I make the call and Russ gets out the way but shocjked to see 62 off against my mighty 10 7 !!!!! Flop comes 10 7 4 and ship the loot to the Hazbo. Make what I think is a good fold with top pair to weak stack Samj holding 2nd pair and flush draw not wanting to make him strong and soon after that he ships to limped pot with JQ to find utg limper holds AK and hes gone.
5 left and a raised pot is called by Stumpy but I ship all in with AK to be snapped by him holding KK. I make my Ace and am now chip leader with 4 left.
Cameltoe ships 1st pos, Faetzy ships 2nd pos, Stumpy folds A7 and I look down at QQ in the BB wqhich holds and we are hups now with a big chip lead.
Fellow Dobba Stumpy is a tuff cookie obv especially hups so decide no gift aid here although we do a deal for 10% in who ever wins the seat. I double him up calling his all in on a flop of J57 with 8s5s and although I make st and f/d on turn his 10 10 holds and stacks grew closer together although I dont think I ever lost my lead. I call his standard raise holding Kc5c. Flop comes KhJd10H to which Stumpy ships his stack and I make the call. He shows Jh8h for lots of outs but good old son S2C the dealer looks after me and I scoop the seat.
Even during heads up the old Hazbo looked after me as well and Im now a converted hazbo king so free info here, if ya playing me in a hand and the board is hazbowed you better beware!!!!!
